We had a reservation for 9:30am - which is when the restaurant opened. We waited until 10:15am and the doors were still locked! Nobody would let us in!
The service, consistency and quality of this restaurant has been on a downward slide for a while but now to not even open the doors yet accept a reservation is completely unacceptable for any establishment!
Wasn't the greatest experience. Out for dinner with my daughter. We got seated right away, and after 20 mins of waiting for a server my daughter finally went up to ask for someone to come take our order. Drinks were fabulous but the food not so much. My stir fry portion was quite small, my daughter ordered beef dip. The au jus was extremely salty and hardly any beef in the sandwich. Likely wont return. To top it off they didn't credit me my Open Table points.
The food is really good and I like the atmosphere. However, they had zero idea I even made a reservation on Open Table. Thankfully the restaurant was pretty quiet. The service is also quite poor, I have a feeling the staff turnover is very, very high. Seriously though, zero complaints about the food, we were all happy about that.
We reserved at 6:15 pm as the final Canucks hockey game was on that night.. we were seated with our friends and it took 50 minutes before someone took our order . We didn’t know that the UFC fight was on.. while watching the Canucks game we had to ask them to put back on the Canucks games as they were changing most of the channels to the fight. I don’t blame the waitress as I think it was a lot of people in one area that were being looked after. Possibly there were not enough waitress on that night? It was an hour until we got our drinks. We had planned to stay but decided after our drink we would go somewhere else. We have always had a good experience at the Brew. But this time was horrible .
Open Table should take this restaurant off the app. Worst experience ever. Apparently they are closing down soon and have just stopped trying to provide any level of service at all.
Awful place. there were out of 5 dishes on their menu. Did not have the full beer stock that they advertise. New waitress who was awful. Kitchen took over an hour to get out the food even though there were only 3 other tables there. Was an issue with each meal.
Even though we followed up with the waitress and tried to be patient it was too much. She should not have been working without supervision or some training. Not sure what was happen tin gin the kitchen, there was something very wrong going on back there.
And no one of the staff cared.....it seems like the sis par for the course.
Do not go, not worth your time or money.
So, I booked a table at Brew Street Craft Kitchen here on OpenTable. It was the menu that was intriguing. I should have read the reviews.
Things looked bad as soon as we walked in the door. The stench of spilt stale beer was almost overwhelming, but we thought we’d give it a try.
After a long wait, our server showed up. We order the Gnocchi & Pulled Braised Beef and the Fish & Chips. The Gnocchi had flavour but was only lukewarm. The real problem was with the Fish & Chips. I stared we the chips. Undercooked. You could also taste the oil that was long overdue for a change. Gross. The fish was also undercooked with gooey beer batter that really had no flavour. We sent it back. They were nice enough to take it off the check. In a nutshell, unless you just want a beer from their large selection, don’t bother with Brew Street for food. Sadly, it’s not very good.
I booked a reservation to celebrate my birthday but when we arrived it was closed with a suspended sign on the door. We received no notice or email advising our reservation would not be honoured. We had to quickly scramble to find another venue that would accomodate us. I would not recommend this place.
We had booked this place for a birthday party. The restaurant lost its liquor license and the doors were closed when all our guests arrived
Needless to say that we will never be returning.
Why on earth would open table take the rezzo if the place is closed??
Fish tacos were great, highly recommend. Went here on a double date and it was a very enjoyable night.
There are lots of beers on the menu but many were not available!
The ones we did order were flat and not good at all.
Food was bad and we waited a long time to get it.
Terrible service, mediocre overpriced food.theis 100 beer list is not always available and beers were flat at best.
Too bad for such a nice looking place.
Our table reservation was easy to make. However, when we arrived, we were split into 2 tables. Unless previously told this, that is not okay. Luckily, we had the room to push the tables together. Everything else was so awesome though!
We waited more than an hour for food. When it arrived, half of it was cold and one dish was burnt. The server did her best to provide good service under the circumstances, however, many things were out of stock on the menu and the overall food quality was poor.
Jam & honey bowl were not refilled. We had to go table to table to find honey and jam as we had 5 people. But bowl had 1 ::) an and 1 honey. Bowls at other tables were nearly empty too. Instead of standing around at front desk, waitress and waiter should be checking on all these details.
When we got there, the reservation was no longer available and was given away to other people...
The restaurant was not busy at all for 7 pm on a Friday night so we really didn’t have to reserve. It took too long to get our drinks and then to order food. The waitress kept disappearing. I ordered the chicken strips and fries and I have posted a photo. The chicken was over-cooked, thin, dry and like leather and was not worth the $15.00! I told the waitress about it when she finally came back to the table but it was too late to do anything about it. My husband’s $18 burger was just okay. Not impressed and won’t be back unless it’s just to have a beer.
So sad to see the decline. I have given this restaurant a great rating before but I'm sad to say it has really gone down. Out of two popular beer as well as Strongbow and then the food was not good at all. I was a great supporter and would have remained loyal but just can't excuse poor food. The staff are great but continually have to deliver a disappointing product....is it under new management?
Wasn't the best experience. They claim to be child friendly but I don't think I'd go back with my kids. The restaurant was all out of macaroni and didn't tell us till my daughter tried to order it. My mothers steak was totally burned (they did remedy this, but I was surprised they'd even serve it) and they were all out of ice cream (comes as part of the kids meal) and again didn't tell us until it was dessert time. Overall pretty disappointed. Don't think I'll go back.
Unfortunately, booking through OpenTable didn't work. Our party arrived and was told they didn't have a reservation for us. They did, however, accommodate us and got us a big enough space. I found the prices to be a little on the higher side, or on par with restaurant meals/drinks. The beginning part of our evening was pretty good, not too loud, fairly good service, but then it got packed in there, loud and the level of service dropped considerably. It took about 40 minutes to get my bill from the time I asked for it. We were left sitting without anything to drink for quite a long time. I understand it's more challenging when it's busy, but they really should have more staff to handle it or better trained staff. All in all, it was okay, but not really my kind of place.
Usually I only write positive reviews but when the dining experience is so disastrous I feel the need to warn people and spread the word. I won't waste my time with long details but here is a recap: 1)10 min wait to order drinks. 2) Another 10 min wait to order food. 3)The waitress had a poor knowledge of the menu and had to rush to the kitchen to get answers . 4) Drinks: the mojito was ok, the martini was terrible. 5) 55 minute wait for food on top of that!!! and this place was not full. 6) Appetizer and meals arrived at the SAME time. 7) The so called "AAA" steak was a shame. 8) the Chimichurri sauce was an insult to Latin American cuisine 9) No cutlery was provided - add more wait to find a waitress to bring steak knives. 10) Kids meal was charged at a higher price than advertised and they added the fries and drink separately on top of that - good thing I checked the bill. 11) The free dessert my kid was supposed to get wasn't even offered to her and I was not about to wait 30 mins for a scoop of ice cream so I left and will never go back!
Had a wonderful dinner. great ambiance, food and service.
Great price for house wine and food is excellent. Always friendly staff.
A sports bar, really... food & service were mediocre!
I had to go back because a buddy mentioned some good new menu items. I tried some of the new options. The arancini (fried risotto) on a pomodoro sauce was a nice starter. Also Asian stir fry with prawns was a also tasty as my entrée.
The third time I have been here and the third time receiving less than average service. Our server disappeared for a long time and when she did make her way to our table she was in such a rush that we could barely get our order in. The food is pretty good though, too bad service is so bland.
The staff were pretty disorganized - got two menus for eight of us, so we had to ask for more and the beer list and the flight menu too. Our food came out randomly, so some were finished before others had gotten food. Drink menus are great though.
I had a terrific experience. Our server was such a delight - very smiley and energetic and super sweet. It was for my birthday and we were taken care of. The only down side was they didn't open the dancefloor which was something we were all looking forward to but it never opened up. Other than that, food was great and the atmosphere was wonderful! Thanks again brew street, will be back again!
Food was fantastic as always.
Great environment, impressive beer list, and fantastic food. Definitely coming back!
Appetizers came out like warm. Brie cheese bites were actually cold. My main dish was good. But another persons burger was like a hockey puck. Way over cooked. Service was very very slow. Ambience nice. They have a potential good thing going. We will be back to give it another shot for sure and hopefully I can update this review then for the better :)
This is not our first time coming to this bar. Always had a great time and enjoyed the atmosphere.
The service we got on Saturday was not the greatest. We had to wait long for our server to refill our beers and our food was served without any plates so we had to wait and ask for plates.
We will come again but need a better service.
Went to the restaurant for my birthday and enjoyed it. Food is great, big beer selection and good athmosphere that wasn't too loud. It's a shame it was cut short when we were asked too leave, as the Halloween party was starting.
I went for lunch to meet a colleague. I had the shrimp dim sum dish. It was really good and I loved the spicy mustard it comes with. Also we shared the nachos with spicy beef, which is also a dish I can recommend.
Perfect spot for any group. Depending on your age, the atmosphere changes around 11pm with an influx of 20 somethings and the music turns to club music and is loud. If your not bothered by it, it is still a great place after 11pm. We weren't and our group enjoyed the evening and left around 1am.
Great times as always! Our server was amazing and the food was pretty good.
Awesome food and great drink prices!
Great food and drinks were yummy. Server was great until it got really busy and she seemed more concerned about the larger tables than the two of us. Took a while to get a drink. But we have been a few times and generally service is spot on.
