The restaurant is old. There were not many people in the restaurant for lunch. Food was average. I give it average because the Turtle Soup was really the best of everyone's meal from my recommendation. Very disappointed.

What can you say? One of the best in town. Great shuttle service to the theaters on week ends.

After being seated, the wait staff spilled water on us. Within 2 more minutes, the wait staff spilled red wine on us. We were then reseated, and things were a bit better, however I expected that at the very least our meal would have been taken care of, however it was only partially taken care of. Needless to say, they ruined what should have been a wonderful evening.

It was a fabulous experience. The service manager gave us a tour of the entire restaurant...even the kitchen.

Oh dear, what an unfortunate evening! We have dined at Brennan's for a multitude of special occasions and it has ALWAYS been our favorite place to celebrate. This time the service was so incredibly poor that a member of our party actually spoke to the manager about it. There was a wedding that evening AND a large party in the main dining room, but we have never experienced this level of poor service at Brennan's. They graciously acknowledged the lapse, apologized, and did remove some drinks and dessert charges from the bill. Our food was stellar, as always, so we will forgive a one time lapse in service quality and continue to choose Brennan's as our special dining place!

Lovely restaurant but not quite as it used to be. The food is VERY Cajun, so be prepared for that. Also very expensive for what you are getting. $16 for a 3 bite appetizer. A ramekin sized bowl of soup and tiny entree in a two part $29 combo meal . If you are going for atmosphere or a romantic dinner without denim then this is a beautiful restaurant for you.

The food was awesome....redfish and the quail entrees were outstanding, and the atmosphere there is always special. But the service left a lot to be desired. Even though the restaurant was less than half full on a Friday evening, our waiter went missing for long periods of time, I'd almost finished my entree by the time they brought my wine I ordered when he served the entree, and while friendly, a bit sloppy. The upside is that they comped the wine and my wife's dessert. I'd still go back, despite the foibles of this visit.

I’m never disappointed with any meal or event here. The food, service, and ambiance are always top notch. It’s one of my favorite “go to” spots in Houston. Even just stopping in for a quick drink at the bar is enjoyable. Even when the place is packed, which is often, you can carry on a casual conversation without having to yell across the table to be heard.

The food is always flavorful. My husband and I really enjoyed the crabcakes. For special occassions some restaurants have a special complimentary dessert so that would be my only recommendation.

Our dinner at Brennan's was excellent, as always. For the first time, we sat in the room on the left of the hostess (at the entrance -- room used to be bathrooms before the fire). It was very quiet -- perfect for conversation. We ran the menu with appetizes and entrees, and everything was well cooked and well presented, as always. One of Houston's oldest and finest. We always come back.

My reservation request was for a quiet table so the six of us could visit as we celebrated 4 birthdays in March. Brennans not only honored our request they gave us a very quiet table in the wine room back in the corner. The food, the service were superb. Thanks for being a Houston institution.

We did not tell them until near the end of our visit. Husbands birthday.
Their brunch menu has changed and no longer any waffles or French toast and only one omelet on the menu (vegetarian) I ordered it and it was not good to me. They special made me some French toast on regular thin sandwich bread but it was over cooked and served with fake syrup(not REAL Maple syrup) I appreciate their efforts but I won’t go back for brunch until they put out a menu with more choices than just seafood predominantly. The Turtle soup is still delicious and the bananas foster, out of this world!!

We went for a special occasion for having family in from out of town. We all dressed up in nice brunch attire. My guy friend ended up wearing a nice long sleeve button down and very nice shorts. We were told that we would have to sit in the back in the bar area because there was a no shorts dress code.
We could have gotten over this but unfortunately the room was quite dirty and we ended up getting "back of house" service as well. We had not been waited on after 20 minutes of sitting down. We realized this was because our "waiter" was the bartender for the whole restaurant too. I eventually had to go to the front to request service.
I always really enjoyed going to Brennan's and had really high expectations for a nice brunch with my sister from out of town. For the amount of money that was to be spent, I really expected quite a different experience. Unfortunately, I do not plan on jumping on the opportunity to go back anytime soon.

This was our first time eating brunch at Brennan’s of Houston and it was amazingly delicious; the dishes are unique, elegant just simple Devine. The staff, especially the wait staff was very attentive; they were on top of it! In addition, there is live entertainment during brunch. Our only complaint would be the hostess was rude, she wasn’t welcoming or inviting. We also didn’t like being seated in one of the second floor rooms with a party larger than 20 people. We love the first floor ambience and look, we really like the dinning chairs.

One of the best dining experiences I have had in years. Reservations were easy to make and I was worried about not having a jacket but I was dressed appropriately. The bar staff was completely on point. Breaux was funny, friendly, and made some awesome cocktails. The Pimm's Cup is stuff of legends in my book. Our table was ready for us at the appropriate time. Our wait staff, Christian and Jimmy (?), were knowledgable about the menu, the specials, and what our needs were for dining. The chargrilled oysters were tasty but I had complete appetizer envy when my girlfriend had the turtle soup (velvety, light spice, rich, AMAZING). Our entrees came out at the appropriate time. I had the filet rockefeller (steak was cooked to perfection, by far the best fried oysters I have ever had, a bernaise sauce to die for, and the creamed spinach was outstanding) and my date had the Red Snapper Ponchartrain(which was truly tasty). Although we were full, we HAD to split the Bananas foster and it was a wise decision. Would definitely recommend!!
