For such great reviews online I was disappointed in the food. My eggs benny's came out with dried hollandaise sauce as if it had been under the burner for too long and my friend had a hair wrapped around her bacon which sent her plate back to the kitchen. Apparently they don't make lattes at this place? We asked but were told their machine wasnt very good and we couldnt get one, which surprises me if this place is supposed to be the best brunch in Mississauga. Service was incredibly slow even though only 3 tables were in use at a time. For a fine dining menu, prices were still reasonable.

Valentine’s Day dinner was fantastic. The beef tenderloin was superb!! Perfectly cooked with great flavour. Erin, our server, was lovely. Very professional and courteous. Great turnout at the restaurant. Love to promote and support Port Credit business!!

The food is very, very good; service is friendly and attentive and not intrusive, and very good, it’s a comfortable, setting with pleasant decor in a good location and overall is great. However, the restaurant would do well to dim the lights a little bit at the dinner hour.

Attended for Brunch. All advertising for this restaurant said best Brunch restaurant in Mississauga. How wrong they ate? Not much variety of breakfast items. No eggs Benedict, french toast was horrible.

I had a one off situation dining here. The staff were all relatively new 1-2 years at the restaurant and not one of them knew how to process/redeem an Open Table cheque. They flat out refused to accept or even acknowledge the Open Table cheque. It was quite comical. The “General Manager” was also included in this and was probably the worst one. Didn’t listen to me explain the Open Table program nor did they listen to the customer service person from Open Table and the GM was very rude to me (and I don’t even think Prim realized it). It really ruined what was a wonderful evening otherwise. For this reason, I’ll never ever go back here. To me as a customer, it’s more important how a restaurant responds to a mistake they made and not just the mistake that was made. I’d suggest to stay away. Snug Harbour and Posta Italbar are right across the street and have better service, views and their food is equally as good.
Our dining experience was outstanding. The food was delicious, and our server, Mohammad, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. We had the charcuterie for appetizer, and the plate was more than enough for four people, with a wide variety of cheeses, pâtés and meats. Our guests ordered the salmon and I had the seafood risotto, and all was prepared with savoury ingredients. Kudos to the chef, I would not hesitate to recommend Breakwater.
Even though we requested a table by the window with a view on water, we didn't get it, regardless the fact that the restaurant was barely full and tables by the window with water view were available.

Father’s Day brunch - was a busy time to go but great effort at seating everyone quickly. Food was excellent. A little slow in service at the start as they say everyone at the same time. Given the volume of people, it might have helped to make the buffet accessible on both sides. A minor complaint.

Lovely room with attentive friendly service in a mediocre hotel with food that was wavering on inedible. The restaurant credits itself as fine dining; however, I’ve truly had better meals at a roadside diner. The menu itself reads more like pub fare than fine dining. Fish and chips provided heavily battered fish that was more greasy than crisp. Eggs over easy were over cooked on the bottom with bread and home fries that looked felt rationed. My spicy Caesar was sweet unlike the bill. I will say their French fries were good. Our server was a pro and managed to make the overall experience tolerable. I would not recommend this restaurant and furthermore think it’s in their best interest to not promote themselves as fine dining.
It was a surprise birthday for my husband and they made an effort to pre decorate our table. The food served were of good quality. I ordered the Battered Fish and Chips. It will be better off with less batter but the quality of the haddock is good. My husband got the Salmon and it tastes really good. Then we got a surprise mini cake as a treat for his birthday. Overall experience was great!
I booked Breakwater Restaurant for Mother's Day to attend with my 3 sisters. We were booked for the 2pm seating. Upon arrival, we were shocked to see we weren't in the main dining area rather, they opened up an adjacent hall and that's where we sat. It was a large hall with hundreds of people in it. It felt like a wedding and there were super long line-ups for food. It felt like we were at a wedding for God's sakes! Our restaurant booking at the Breakwater Restaurant because an open, loud space - lost it's cache completely!
Then, the bill came and there was a service charge on there. I asked what it was and the waiter said "it's the tip". THEY ADD TIP FOR A TABLE OF 4? (typically added on larger groups). AND, the worst part is that they tipped themselves 18%!! I wouldn't have tipped more than 10% for the reason that we served ourselves and didn't get any service from a waiter as we drank water that was already on the table. No, we aren't cheap and would have liked to enjoy some wine but, as mentioned, the ambiance was TERRIBLE and we were disappointed. To add their own tip was probably even more disappointing then the meal itself! Brutal. We all agreed that we would NOT ever go back. THUMBS DOWN

I haven't been to Breakwater for a long time and the thing I like about it is that it is a quiet atmosphere. I think because of the construction outside it is suffering from lack of patronage. We were there on a Saturday night and the place was practically empty. Only 3 tables, including our own, were occupied. I believe this is unusual as it has never been that way before when I have gone there. It is a posh atmosphere, very quiet, even when it's busy, and a very nice place to have dinner with friends.

We choose the Breakwater to celebrate my Daughter's Birthday. It was our first time eating here and we thoroughly enjoyed our brunch. Everything was perfect from the time of our arrival to our departure. The staff were professional and attentive and the ambience was wonderful. We particulary enjoyed that we could converse without any loud noise interferring our conversation. The buffet was set up in a separate room and was presented attractively. The food was delicious with multiple items to choose from. We have all decided that the Breakwater will be our first choice for future celebrations.
This is my "go to" place for special occasions. The elegant ambiance, superb service, and a menu of traditional and edgy offerings make this a destination restaurant when you want to feel special - pampered and treated. The wine list is impressive, from reasonably priced fine wines to surprising extra-special once-in-a-lifetime vintages. Mohamed is our favourite waiter, with experience in fine restaurants in the UAE, who knows how to shimmer in and out as if you are being served by unseen hands: he also pours a fantastic Manhattan. This is a hidden gem.
wonderful fine dining restaurant. not too bad on pricing. tried the baked salmon and it was very delicious. however for the the main course we ordered lobster and chicken. the chicken was okay but the noodles in it very too plain. and lobster was not good at all.
We received excellent service from Mohammed and all of the Breakwater staff. Our meal (Chateaubriand) was wonderful as well. My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Waterside Inn 3.5 years ago and Mohammed still remembered us, which was very nice. Highly recommended.

They were under construction, so it was a bit loud, however, don't let that fool you because my experiences there have always been great and I cannot wait to see what it will look like after the renovations.
The service is still impeccable and the food is wonderful. Nestled in the little village of Port Credit, when you choose the Breakwater Restaurant, you're choosing an experience.
My friend and I enjoy Breakwater when we want a relaxed, un-rushed meal where we can chat, share an excellent cocktail, a special wine, and an exquisite meal served by an attentive and knowledgeable server. The value for money is outstanding. This is our "go to" place when we want to feel special and spoiled.
The wait staff did their best to accommodate a vegan diet, and were warm and personable. The dishes were prepared with fresh, high quality ingredients and great care and attention were given to flavours and presentation. My only quibble would be the portion sizes. Fine dining, yes, but I think the portions could be a bit more generous (salads and dessert).
Mohammed gave us superb service. Always a great experience for a special evening.
