Food was good but my husband ordered broiled scallops and they came totally white. Waitress was very nice but drinks were slow.
Had the kale and bean soup extremely tasty. Mac and cheese was great and fish tacos were delish. A great stop and the halloween decorations set the mood nicely.
Looked and sounded nice online, don't be fooled, it's waaaaaay past its' prime. Our "overwhelmed" server had trouble managing the three occupied tables in the room. We shared a few large appetizers for our lunch entrees since we were told they were huge, we were given tiny bread plates to eat off of - we asked for larger plates since our nachos, wings, etc., were falling off the dishes and making a mess, the server said "I'll have to see" (?!?) and eventually and begrudgingly delivered salad plates about an inch bigger. Coffee had to be refilled by another waitress and dirty dishes were finally cleared over a 20 minute period a couple at a time. No dessert was offered. We were polite and patient and still left a 20% gratuity since she was clearly having a bad day but, wow, you can skip this one...
Everything was very good
We had a table of 6 and couldn't be more disappointed. The food was simply not good. The steak tips were dry and covered in a "glaze" the chicken limoncello was covered in a gelatin like sauce. The drinks had no lemons or limes or fruits accompany the cocktails. The service was good but we wouldn't recommend it nor go to the breakers again.
I had a reservation for 6 people on Friday, 8/25. We were celebrating my wife's birthday, a couple's retirement and a friend's new home. We were all very excited for a fun night and a good meal before a concert.
We got there early so we went upstairs to the outdoor bar. We stood at the bar for a good 5+ minutes and the bartender didn't acknowledge us as he was busy making drinks as the service bartender. I get he was busy but he could have at least said something. We went downstairs to the inside bar and enjoyed our time.
When we went to our table, the very nice hostess acknowledged my open table request for a special table near the window for the view. Our waiter was nice enough but service continued to get slower and slower,( understanding it's a Friday night on the beach. My meal didn't have the right protein on it as a friend got the same meal and she got her protein and mine! Three of our party ordered Swordfish and one of the dishes had a noticeably smaller portion and looked very overlooked!
Al in all when u spend over $500 for dinner, drinks and tip, I would expect must better service and food.
We had a delicious dinner our first night in Hampton Beach before attending a show. The food, drinks and service were great! Reasonable prices.
Food is NOT up to par! Small portions, dried haddock, overcooked tuna. Not going back!
We love going to the Ashworth. We normally stay there when we go to Hampton for a concert however this time they were booked solid. We still made reservations for dinner as the food is always delicious and the staff (both hotel and restaurant/bar) are always top notch and accommodating. We arrived a half hour early and had a drink at the bar while our table was set up. The Scallops, Seafood Newburg and Haddock were fabulous as usual...we prefer to eat in the breakers lounge. The atmosphere is casual, a great place to meet friends and it's just a 3 or 4 minute walk to the Casino Ballroom.
Although the food was just average everything was cooked pretty well and the service was excellent! We had a good time there and walked the beach after to see the sandcastles.
Breakers a nice relaxed restbit from the typical franatic hampton beach eatery that is full of loud people and music. The food is above average and prices are fair for the quality. The service can be slightly slow-maybe by design but it's nothing to worry about.
Two of us had the baked haddock. The bread crumbs were way over seasoned, very dry and the fish was overcooked. Calamari was on the greasy side. Martini's were very small for $12. Had a Lemon Drop which was warm with no sugar on the rim. We went because we had a gift certificate. Would not go back.
Anniversary and Mother's Day celebration and the service food and atmosphere was amazing.
Great prime rib and also great cocktails! The only negative were the clams for clambake we had (small, not tasty) but that could be that they were out of season for late April.
We dined on the two fish specials of the day. Both were delicious and well prepared. The waitstaff was attentive and efficient. Great view of the ocean and outside activities.
Disappointing all around. The service was poor; we had to ask for our drinks, chowder, refills, etc. The food was fair; the chowder needed seasoning and the turkey panini was not tasty at all, the sprouts on it were mushy and musty tasting, the turkey was cold.
I have recently moved to the area and wanted to show my friends from MA a nice place to eat on the water. I also wanted to walk from my new apartment. I will not be going back and I will not be recommending this anyone, and I doubt my MA guests will either.
OK experience but definitely not five star. Food average, service average, experience average, not bad overall, but definitely not worth the price of $9-$15 average for cocktails, which made up 50% of the bill. Food prices and quality OK, drinks way too expensive. Parking was impossible without valet service, so that added to the overall bill, and I got the impression that the place was popular with people that patronized it because of their impression that it was high-end, when it's rather a bit of a place for out-of-town pretentious people to flaunt their cars, their hairstyle, their jewelry and their clothes, although it's also popular with casual diners, who seem to be the locals and to understand the venue better, and which in my opinion it's more suited to. Makes for a better local lounge than a hang out for yacht club types, except for the liquor prices.
Our reservation was easily made on the mobile app. The Breakers staff were friendly and attentive without interfering with our family get-together and conversations. The food was delicious and the service prompt.
Great food, service, and atmosphere.
Sorry to say our meal was "cool" and the lobster tasted "salty ". Overall we had a lovely time.
A great spot for a drink at the beach. They have various dining options including a roof top patio. Good location and part of the history of Hampton Beach. Food is ok, the staff is always pleasant.
The service and the food was great. I had the salmon and it was cooked very nicely. The pumpkin martini was awesome!
Food was good. I got fish n chips which was reasonably priced. The waitress was very attentive. The decor and inside was very nice.
We were terribly disappointed in our meals. I had the NY sirloin, which was tough, and not tasty at all. My husband had the prime rib which he also said had very little taste. Our meals were mediocre at best. I had to ask for rolls at the end of our meals, when the table next to us received them automatically. An awful way to spend $85 and to celebrate a special occasion. :(
Went to Breaker's on a Friday night in August with a small group of friends. The beautiful weather and scenic view made it a very nice place to eat. It's right on the boardwalk but closer to the end, so not too much in the thick of things. Food was delicious! Lobster bisque, clam chowder, haddock and scallops were all well cooked and very tasty. The waitress was uncannily honest about the food on the menu when we asked her opinion; most waitresses will tell the customer "it's delicious" or "I'd choose anything off the menu, everything is so good". Our waitress steered us away from the chicken telling us when it gets busy in the kitchen, the chicken tends to be dry. She also was very up front about what exactly is 'fresh' seafood and what they buy frozen. She was also very attentive. The manager came over to check in on our dining experience as well, but just once to make sure things were ok.
We started with coconut shrimp app which was very good. My wife had Salmon and I had the baked stuffed lobster, both enjoyed our meals. We do come here often, as we have a condo a few blocks away..
We had eaten lunch a couple of years ago at the Breakers and it was very good so we decided this year to try dinner. We were really looking forward to the Prime Rib--unfortunately this Prime Rib dinner was a bit dry and fatty which was a disappointment. The waitress was a little scattered, not appearing to know too much -- she was older too so it wasn't a kid serving us. Overall, this was a very average dinner (not cheap either). On this website it says reservations were recommended -- we did that and went to dinner on a Friday night, however, reservations were NOT needed -- the only good thing was about making the reservations was I requested a window table and we did get that.
Wine was old, service was average, food was average at best. Don't waste you're time
We had dinner here before a concert at the Casino on a recent busy Saturday night. Many people were waiting for a table, but we were seated right away thanks to our Open Table reservation. Window table was great. Food was excellent, large portions, fresh seafood. Service was quite slow, although our waitress was pleasant. We will return.
This was our 2nd time at the Breakers. Good again was great and the waitress was fantastic! Will definitely go back again!
There are no exciting restaurants in Hampton. The service here is fine, but not great; don't expect anyone to notice that your glass is empty. We kept things pretty simple. Buffalo wings taste more like BBQ than buffalo. The scallop roll was fine. The burger is fine but you have to ask for mustard and there's no Dijon (but honey mustard is an option). I wouldn't rush back but it's fine if you're here for a concert and you're looking for something local.
The restaurant was very accommodating to our requests for a romantic setting. There was even a champagne toast included free of charge. Our waitress was very attentive and not intrusive. Our meal was perfect and barring the storm raging outside, it was wonderful. Thank you to the Breakers!
The food was alright . It was too salty and a bit overpriced . The restaurant was very nice and the host was very pleasant.
Our waitress was friendly but not a great waitress. We never got any bread ordered two appetizers and when they came ordered dinners. They broach the the dinners while we were only half way through the appetizers. Just poor attention to details which you don't expect when paying $25 plus an entre. Food was pretty good with nice portion size.
One of our favorites! Great place to enjoy a nice meal and people watch.
Nice atmosphere and great food
Very tasty food and friendly staff
We recently dined at the Breakers. We had a reservation but didn't need it as only one other couple was in the dining room. The wine list was not long, but we found a table wine with which we were familiar. Strangely, our red wine was served in a glass size generally reserved for white wine. Our server brought us warm bread and butter and disappeared. After she had left we realized there were no bread plates and had to use the butter wrappers in lieu of plates.
I was devastated when I looked at the menu and found the filet mignon missing! Clearly, the online menu shows it. I settled on the turkey dinner which was good, but definitely NOT a filet mignon! My husband ordered Lobster Newburg. The sauce was watery but he said it was not without flavor.
Still feeling disappointed, I decided to order the Pecan Pie for dessert. It was served with a spoon and the crust was almost impossible to cut, so I ended up eating the pecans and custard filling. My husband's "dessert" was a glass of Port wine. It was served in the same size glass as the dinner wine. The bartender gave my husband a "double" because the proper serving looked so small in that glass. Really! Can they no afford the proper glassware for their beverages?
OK, enough ranting. Bottom line: Service was adequate, food was okay, value was just not there. If we are going to pay that amount of money for dinner, we will go to Demeters or the Atlantic Grill.
