French American
Our mission at BREADBAR and Mezze Garden - Century City is ambitious: we are proposing a new way of making and eating bread, of thinking and talking about bread. It is inspired by the age-old breadcraft of France, a place where breadmaking still enjoys the greatest respect, and where bread is consumed and appreciated with the same distinction as fine wine and cheese. Inspired by the Slow Food Movement and California's independent farmers and craftspeople, BREADBAR and Mezze Garden - Century City's menu is dedicated to the season. Where possible, we use organic, locally farmed produce, meat, poultry and fish, while striving to be nutritionally aware and environmentally conscious. Inspired by our unique breads, we offer a menu that spans breakfast, brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner. Frequently, we hold events that promote the artisanal products, guest chefs, independent artists and musicians that make up our menus and fill our community driven spaces.

The construction at the mall made the experience less nice, if you will, then if it was not going on. The price of the meat skewers even at the happy hour for what you got was a joke. A total rip off. The quality of the food just wasn't that great. Disappointing.

It really is unfair to review this restaurant while Century City is undergoing a major renovation. The menu had changed since we were there last. We were disappointed to learn th they had stopped serving breakfast at 12:00 none (this was Sunday). We weren't enamored with the restaurant before, but we needed a place to go before a movie.
Bottom line: I would pass on the Breadbar until the renovation is complete.

The ambiance is inviting, warm, simple. Not crowded on a weeknight. Stopped here for happy hour before going upstairs to see a movie. Service was attentive and menu inventive, for both the food & drinks. Very enjoyable casual dining.

A convenient place to eat in Century City (despite the construction at the mall). It was good food -- we had omelets. They had soy milk for coffee, which I appreciated. Nothing was out of the ordinary, however, and the prices were a bit high for what we got.
They don't validate for parking -- they said that only the theaters and Gelson's does. (This was annoying.)

The restaurant was misrepresented by photos on the internet. Not nearly as comfortable or attractive. Understaffed and received our food before our cocktail that was ordered much earlier. We both used a debit card and, oddly, the same afternoon both cards were fraudulently used in other parts of the country. Would not ever go back.

for the quality of food, the price was on a higher side.
if I wanted to get better quality pizza and pasta in a nice restaurant, I rather go to another restaurant like Bossa Nova.

Can't go wrong with the club. Great bread all around. Garlic fries and a ginger ice tea hit the spot.

We came here for Mother's Day breakfast. It's a small, friendly restaurant in the Century City Mall. Their bread basket was to die for and they had a variety of breakfast cocktails, which were tasty but small. Food quantities were generous but a little pricey for breakfast. Food quality was very good. Service was very attentive and our waiter was charming. We enjoyed it and will come back here.

We went for breakfast (9:30am) on Mother's Day and it was a lovely experience. The service was attentive and fast. The food was prepared and delivered quickly and they took great care to accommodate our 21 month old daughter. My wife had the breakfast burrito and real liked it and I had an egg white veggie omelette with a side of bacon. All the dishes come with potatoes and a piece of bread. Everything was delicious. Will definitely come back again.

Food very overpriced for quality. We got much better food for same price at The Ivy. Disappointed in desserts as they were dry and unimpressive. Can't recommend based on our visit.

I like the food, the servers are great, the prices are fair, but about half of the chairs outside are really uncomfortable--they must be the most uncomfortable restaurant chairs in Los Angeles, if not the civilized world. If half the chairs can be decent, why can't all of them? A friend recently suggested that it was about ensuring a quick turnover of diners, but I am reluctant to agree. Change the chairs!

We've been passing Breadbar for a while now always saying "we should try that place sometime," so we finally tried it. With a name like Breadbar, we figured the first thing you get a drinks and bread. It took about 15 minutes to get water and there was no bread. Looking at the prices, we're thinking "maybe it's one of those places that has high prices because it's really good!" Wrong. The soups (french onion and tomato) were underseasoned and the portions were way too big. AND THE BREAD? It tasted normal and the crust was hard as a rock. I would never serve that.

When it came time for entrees, we had ordered what the waiter suggested -- mussels and NY strip. The mussels were cooked nicely, and you get a lot for your money. The NY strip? Well that was something I can easily underseason and cook sides for at home. Definitely wasn't worth the money.

On top of all that, the waiter was quite informal. He spoke to us as if we were his friends. There's a fine line between being a good waiter and being a friend, and he way overcrossed that line.

Now I know why no one has ever suggested dining here, and why the dining room is often bare. Perhaps we'll stick to the food court.

This place has the worst service ever - and the food isn't that much better. Toscanova or just about anywhere else is better at the mall.

I met a friend of mine for lunch on a Wednesday. When we arrived the place was not crowded and we were seated right away. Because we both had limited time (we had to get back to work), we ordered right away. Our beverages came quickly but that's where the quickness ended. After 30 minutes of waiting for our food I asked the waiter what the problem was. Instead of apologizing he blamed the table close to us for being such a large party. Very unprofessional. Even though I really like the food here I won't be going back.

a cute little place with fresh breads, a nice bar, pleasant servers and a varied menu. A great place to drop in and have a casual bite with a friend, or a break from shopping. I've only been for lunch, so have not looked at their wine list and cannot comment on it.

Boring decor. Food that is less than average - nothing exciting at all. Took 30 minutes just to get appetizers and they had hardly any customers. I would not bother with this place again. And, their name is misleading - nothing to do with bread at all. They didn't even serve bread with most meals!

This restaurant seems to be in search of an identity...the variety in the menu is so great as to not make sense....and of the three dishes we ordered only the arugula salad was slightly memorable. The ambience was beat up cafe...and the prices are higher end bistro. No plans to return.

Too expensive. I ordered the Pomegranate Lemonade, not realizing it's $4 per glass until I got the bill. And when I requested refills, they brought me regular lemonade. I was in a hurry and couldn't deal with it, but I am not happy about the price and not even getting what I asked for! Also, $16 for 3 sliders at lunch- seems excessive. No kid's menu or anything to keep kids entertained, so I spent the entire time chasing my 3 year old. Bad call.
Before having my daughter, i liked BreadBar a lot. I guess your perspective changes after you have kids.

Went in on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. Our server was very friendly and attentive for the most part. The food was definately good, not great. Some of the items (like the cauliflower soup, the mac & cheese, and bread pudding) felt like they just needed a little something...a tiny bit boring...NOT bad, don't get me wrong. Maybe I just had higher expectations. The place had a nice vibe, so I imagined the food would be a bit more flavorful. I think it was best when I went there for brunch the 1st time. Just not very memorable, that's all.

I had walked by this restaurant a week after week; and always thought it was only a bakery. I was pleasantly surprised. Took a client there for a business lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. Nice atmosphere. Quiet enough to be able to hear the person sitting across the table. Will definitely go back.

It's ok for an option, but the flavor of the food is not that great, decent but it's one of those places that I would go to if the other places could not seat me. Would be great for guys to go to. The burger my husband got was terrific though! Ahi salad I got left something to be desired. Fish wasn't fresh, salad was just eh. I got a sangria and it was weird and bubbly.

The Breadbar advertises that it specializes in great breads, but that wasn't evident when I had lunch there last week. The bread was quite pedestrian, the food okay (I had an ahi tuna sandwich), but nothing particularly distinctive. Also, it was quite noisy. Next time I'm in the area, I'll choose another restaurant.

Portions too small for the price. My vegetarian sandwich was a thin later of vegetables on toast with a small side salad of lettuce and 2 pieces of cucumber. Hamburger and grilled chicken sandwiches were also small but the accompanying fries were decent portion. Food was good. Waitress was pleasant.

Service was mediocre at best, you had to hunt down a server , even for a coffee refill. If it is not on the description than it is a side order. So $11 eggs come with a piece of bread and some garnish, so add potatoes etc..... This place might work to grab a latte or for a quick snack at the mall, but overall I give it a 5.

My friends and I went here for the food truck event feat. Great Balls on Tires. If we didn't like the owner of that food truck, I would probably rate this restaurant 2 stars, but the owner of the food truck is very welcoming and appreciative. The menu itself was quite interesting. 4 stars for great balls on tires.
