   I probably eat at Bread and Salt at least twice a month because it's my mother's favorite nearby restaurant. The food is always good with many Mediterranean and vegetarian choices, a nice burger and some delicious clay pot meals. There are also a couple of delicious Egyptian specialties such as the eggah omelette. Service has been spotty in the past but much better lately. I look forward to warmer weather when I can sit outside.

   There were 6 of us at dinner. We waited an hour and then meals came out 1 at a time. We had tickets for a show and were late. We watched many diners sit and wait for meals and then just leave the restaurant. We will not return.

   We were looking forward to a fun dinner and ended up having a lousy experience at Bread & Salt. On a Friday evening at 6 PM the restaurant was virtually empty but it was clear that the waiter had very little idea on how to provide even the most basic level of service. The wait staff seemed totally lost and unfamiliar with the notion of regular interactions with the guests. I am guessing the kitchen staff must have been equally overwhelmed as it took over 20 minutes to get additional pita bread to supplement the paltry three triangles we received with our hummus. Our meal after close to 40 minutes finally came out in piece-meal over another 15-minute period Sadly, only the clay pot dinners were actually hot; the scallop entrée and the shrimp scampi entrée, while tasty, were lukewarm. It was such a shame that the wait staff wouldn't check-in with the various tables to even provide fresh water refills. I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone until significant changes are made in their ability to provide reasonable service.

   This was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been too. The oj tasted canned. My eggs Benedict was not cooked the way I asked. When it came back, fried, it was on the same bread- not a toasted English muffin , and a yellow - like water meant to be hollandaise sauce. It actually looked like melted american cheese. When my husband's toast came out- it was hard as a rock, and cold. I think it had been sitting for a while, as the service was very slow.

   The place was empty, and yet the service was horrible. The food was not hot. Beyond terrible!

   The food at Bread & Salt was on point! Everything we ordered was outstanding with fresh ingredients, well balanced flavors, and authentic herbs/spices. The prices were very reasonable especially for the quality of food. A great place to check out!

   It was just okay. It was convenient for our purpose of taking our niece to dinner as she starts her winter semester at American University. Would I go back? Probably not.

   my iced coffee had a blueberry floating in it, it took 50 minutes to get our order of sandwiches and the restaurant was empty! We will not return.

   Our party of 6 went to Bread and Salt in the week between Christmas and New year's. While the food was perfectly acceptable, the service was unbearably slow. Although the restaurant had only a few tables filled, the single waiter appeared sporadically and our food did not appear for more than an hour after we ordered. We received neither an explanation nor an apology, and I cannot imagine we will return any time soon.
