The waitress got the orders wrong multiple times. Missing appetizers; missing entrees. Could not get them right even after second tries. Food is not authentically Brazilian at all. Mostly third rate Italian dishes disguised as Brazilian. The table clothes was dirty, hiding bellow the paper. The place smelled.
Waitress was excellent - great attitude - food was fabulous pricing was reasonable
Liked a lot. Recommmend for everyone who wants to taste a good brazilian food. Try moqueca de peixe.
It was a busy night and that may be the issue, but with shrimp on the menu, my wife asked for a simply grilled preparation, no spices, no pepper. We were told they couldn't do it because people allergic to it might react if their food touched the place where the shrimp was prepared. OK, so grilled fish was ordered. But it wasn't grilled, it was sautéed or fried, not sure.
I'm sorry, but with so many great restaurants, I don't think I'll be revisiting this good one.
Thank you for the attempt though.
We have raved about Brazil Brazil before and if anything this time was perhaps the best.
Service was sub par. We were offered dessert and coffee by 5 different people which was annoying and difficult to get the check. Our food was put in wrong and server tried to convince us to eat what she put in instead. Then told us another 2 minutes for our real order. 25 mins later we were eating. Everything was good though, I can't take that away from them.
Excellent steak cooked to perfection and reasonable compared with the overpriced steak houses nearer Times Square. Quiet but don't let that put you off. Staff attentive.
Brazil Brazil offers a large and varied menu at reasonable prices, friendly and prompt service, and a lively atmosphere. Would definitely go again!
I had Brazilian grill as main course. The seasoning and spices were bland. Meat dry. Disappointed. Salad was appetizer was ok. Artichoke hearts excellent but otherwise just a salad. Wanted to try something new/different on restaurant grill. I love Brazilian grill. Just very bland. My friend enjoyed their stragonoff though.
Arrived an hour early for my reservation. Had a cocktail at the bar then was seated for dinner. Host was extremely cooperative in seating me early. Had the fried calamari as an appetizer and the Sauteed seafood combo for dinner. Both were very good.
Only one complaint, not only here but in other restaurants as well. I dine out alone quite a bit whether it be on business or pleasure like this past weekend. The appetizers in most restaurants sound good and some, depending on where you are, can be quite interesting. The question, why won't restaurants serve half orders of an appetizer and charge half price for a single person dining? I requested a half order of the calamari and the server told me they could not do it.
Entered thru the bar area, smelled of dampness. Main dining room was comfortable. Ordered the Brazil special steak as recommended by the waiter: thin, overcooked, grizzly. Appetizers: artichoke picatta, calamari-mediocre at best. Cheese bread, very good. Other diners-all agreed food was mediocre to poor. Would not return.
Seated and attended to quickly, Very courteous and attentive to our needs since we are Dairy Free and Gluten free. Food was outstanding, very nice to place to eat, relax have a conversation without being rushed. Highly recommended.
This place was hopping on a Sunday night (there was a holiday Monday) but we went back a couple of nights later. It was absolutely dead. Our first server seemed confused about his job. The second one knew the menu quite well. The brazil bread takes 20 minutes. But they didn't tell us that. The regular bread was served right away. And although it was warm, it was also stale. Stale warm bread. My dish was actually nice but my husbands dish was terrible. We were only in NY for a week so it was a shame that we wasted one of our dinners on this spot.
Food was quite good, we were seated quickly with our reservations (even though it was very crowded) and Filipe, our waiter, was excellent. Downside was their 'signature' drink was watery with ice, weak and expensive at $17. It made an initial bad impression that remained through the dinner.
Wish they had a better wine list. We wanted a listed bottle did not have it.
When we entered Brazil Brazil we noticed the doors were open and a high speed fan was blowing in the inner dining room. When they told our party of 4 that the air conditioning was not working and the outside temperature was 95 degrees, we left and ate in a nearby cool restaurant. This is the first time that happened. Not cool!
This is our second time here at Brazil Brazil. We took a friend visiting from Toronto there as it was conveniently located for us.
When we arrived, there was live music performance, which was nice. Overall, the food was good. Their Pão de Queijo was freshly made and tasty. And meat dishes were of good portion and good as well. I tried their Camarão no Coco, which according to their menu is served in a fresh coconut (what attracted me). But to my disappointment, while the dish itself tasted good, it wasn’t served in a fresh coconut, but rather a shell that was reused because it smelled like a sweaty shirt that didn’t dry properly, which was a big turnoff. I told the waiter who took the plate away afterwards that the shell smelled really bad, he just laughed and said sorry about that. Definitely not ordering that dish again.
The waiter was very rude and abrasive. He actually had the gall to bill us for items not received and had the audacity to add on a gratuity for himself. The manager took it off the bill but I would never go there again.
Brazil Brazil was a bit of a disappointment. The food is OK and the food & drinks seem high priced for what you get. Dessert was the highlight of the meal. NOTE: The restaurant is NOT air conditioned. It is open to the street and they have fans blowing air. It was quite warm and humid on this August evening. Some details:
We started with the sauteed artichoke hearts and the Salgadinho (four turnovers.) Good but nothing special. We had two entrees, both recommended by the server. The sauteed shrimps served in a coconut shell were good but again nothing special. The Feijoada (black bean pork stew, dry beef, and sausage) had a fair bit of bone and some fat so there was some waste. It was tasty and good but I've had far better versions of this national dish at other NYC restaurants. For dessert we shared the Açai Bowl and the Exotic Bomba. These were VERY good and a bit large. We should have skipped the appetizers so we would have had more room for dessert.
Their sangrias are expensive - about $65 to $70 for a pitcher, about $40 to $45 for a half pitcher. Other restaurants in the same area offer a full pitcher for about $40 to $45. We stuck with bottled beer, of which they have a large selection, at $8 per bottle - a typical price for the area. They have a full bar.
Noise level was quiet except for vehicles passing by on 46th Street due to the restaurant being open to the street.
I can only recommend the desserts and the bottled Brazilian beer, and only on a cooler and drier day/evening.
Waitress took her dinner break during our meal so we didn't get the service I expected. A different server should have taken our table if she was due for her break.
Plating of the meal was boring. Just a steak, yukka fries and fried plantains, no garnish , nothing eye appealing. Bland taste on shrimp dish.
We were a party of 6 and had requested a 'fun' table positing via Opentable - unfortunately they did not have our Opentable res recorded, but they gave us a great and fun table anyway. Great ambiance in the heart of theatre district although not too loud that you couldn't hear each other. The front patio had live entertainment.
One if my best
Lot of food
When asking for a different sauce that was on the menu then what came with the dish, waiter at first refused & then when we said we would pay for it - charged a huge amount extra for a tiny, tiny dish. Very bad policy.
The food is very good, but took so long between order and serving (almost an hour). Service was very slow even with a coupe of customers.
Not really authentic but quite good
Dinner with my son, sort of father-son bonding. Great food, very satisfying experience.
Good service, knowledgeable wait staff, tasty food, and warm ambiance. Would reccomend for casual dinner date!
We were a group of 4 adults and a 2-yr old child in a high chair having a pre-matinee lunch. The menu is very diverse in all categories: apps, salads, mains that include all meats, fish, seafood, and vegetarian. Everything we ordered was well prepared and very tasty.
Our one complaint is the slow service. We had been seated at 1:15, It took a long while for our order to be taken and then, again. to be served. With rushing through our entrees, we barely got out in time for our 3pm curtain,
To be fair, there was a group of about 20 people seated just before us. On the other hand, I would(and did) expect a restaurant in the theater district to be able to accommodate.
Went there to watch the Brazil game. Made reservations online and then went to the restaurant to double check where our "garden" table was going to be. Felile told they were not planning to open the garden as they're not expecting too many people; but they woukd sit us there in case they decided to open the garden area. Felipe showed me the table they were going to reserve for us inside. Got there 10min before my reservation and was told by a hostess they had already "checked me in"...I asked how coukd she have checked me in if I was just getting there...she didn't know what to say and repeated they had given my table away. The restaurant was packed and they DID open the garden but still did not sat us there. They gave us another table that had partial view of the screen, so only some of us were able to really see the game. The game was being aired in 3 different TVs and there was a 2 minutes delay amongst the TVs. Everyone was complaining as we were hearing people cheering for goals and other exciting parts of the game we would seen only 2 min afterwards. We and a lot of other unhappy customers asked if they could put all TVs in the same channel...they "pretended" to be checking on it and never did anything about t. Lastly, we ordered food but only our friend's food arrived. We waited for at least 30min after our friends got their food and even after asking a couple of times about our food it never arrived. We canceled our food and left during half time of the game. The bill came with 18% of tip included, even after this poor service by the kitchen/table/management. They were SO unorganized and not prepared at all to host a worldcup soccer match while serving lunch to all the tables. Very disappointing and we will not come back to this place! We will watch the worldcup matches and eat Brazilian food someplace else.
Food was fantastic
We had a great experience with Brazil Brazil!
The food was absolutely excellent in both fish and vegetarian options and it was presented in a beautiful artistic manner! The service was attentive, clear, and good natured.
We look forward to our next time !!!
Cool place. Big fan of Brazilian food. Will be back
The hostess was so pleasant and accommodating! We were seated promptly but it took a while for the waiter to come. The food was fantastic! I had the sirloin on a skewer with yucca fries. Both were wonderful. The steak was full of flavor.
The menu was interesting and diverse.
Food was very good and we spend a ling relaxing evening at Brazil Brazil after the theater goers left.
Sorry / unimpressed
My parents were visiting from out of town and wanted to try something a little different. Was a good meal, although my vegetarian friend had some trouble finding something on the menu to enjoy. Our server was great, and seemed like he really enjoyed his job.
We had a very nice dinner at this restaurant. The meat is very well prepared and the yucco fries a nice. Especially with the spied mayo instead of american bbq sauce. So ask your waiter for the brazilian spiced mayo! The portion are rather big for european standards but because it is so tasty you will eat everything. Also the staff is very friendly and authentic and also nice to look at.
Second time here and never disappoints. Definitely planning on coming again.
Amazing brasilian food, Nice team
