Bravo! Restaurant and Cafe
Other guests were obnoxious and loud about their political views- sad to have experienced that.
Excellent food and recommendations from our server. Food was served hot and with an excellent presentation. Too full for dessert, so we took home a slice of peanut butter cheesecake which was awesome.
The food was great as always and the selection was well rounded. The best was the service. Our waitress was very polite, very professional and gave us extremely good service.
Despite having a reservation made one week in advance, we were seated at a square table near the front door where cold from both the outside entrance and the overhead ventilation hit us. It took waitress 10 minutes to even take our drink orders. She delivered them 20 minutes later after we already had appetizers and THEN asked us if we would like bread with our meal. The bus people brought us water four times more over the course another hour and our meal was still not ready. Just a small party of 3. Asked for the manager who blamed the wait on a waitperson calling off sick and having 270 guests the day after Valentines. Two big issues with this paltry explanation: you should plan for a Saturday with full staff and the restaurant was only 1/3 full by 9 pm when we were still waiting for our food. Calamari appetizer we ordered was greasy and poor. Mushroom appetizer was incredibly bland. Main food dishes were good, but not worth 90 minutes. Manager admitted they lost our order. She comped is for our meals, so we just had to pay for drinks. In good conscience, I can not recommend this place. Way over priced with average food, poor oversight from management.
The waitress as great, but the kitchen was having issues. They were either short staffed and someone had called in sick or they didn't schedule enough. Allowing your staff to tell the customers on what is going is ideal, we did manage to be offered a free take home dessert and accepted. This would be a 5 star if not for that issue and we will come back again to test it. If it happens again it goes down to a 3 and then we won't be back regardless how great the waitress is.
My overall experience at Bravo was very disappointing, I will rethink returning there for another celebration with my family. We made reservations for a Birthday and several things didn't go well for us. The food was excellent (3 of the 4 entrees) however, we waited over an hour for our food. Two of us finished a bottle of wine before our meals came because the wait was so long and we weren't even offered another bottle or beverage, it was simply cleared from the table. Everyone else in the dining room sat after we did and they were all paying their bills or ordering dessert and our food STILL wasn't served. My mother's seafood ravioli was served and it was cold. A family member had to go find a manager to ask them to reheat the plate-and that's exactly what the manager did. They microwaved their plate, and it took 15 minutes to do that! The manager never returned to make sure the plate was hot enough. The most frustrating part of the entire meal was the lack of communication from the server and manager. They both pretended this was all perfectly normal for the restaurant, and clearly it wasn't because other guests were getting finishing their meals and leaving while we continued to sit and wait. We chose this restaurant anticipating our needs would be met and they weren't.
Great service, great food!
The place is nice. Staff was good. Food was good, just WAY over priced for what you got. I would not recommend!!!
Would have given all stars but when we asked to be moved to a little warmer area they refused.
We hadn’t eaten at Bravo! in awhile. We went in celebration of two birthdays, an anniversary, and assorted holidays. We were not disappointed. Bravo! was everything we expected! The food, wine and service were all outstanding!
Not what it use to be. Over priced and just edible. Salty potatoes, bland pizza.
The Sunday Breakfast Buffet is very good. We would have liked having a choice of bacon that was crispy. There were two of us, and we were seated at a small table at the back wall of the room with the buffet table. Probably because there was also a large group of 10 or more people not far from us, it was easy for us to be overlooked for coffee refills, our bill, etc. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our brunch experience.
Thank you for accommodating a large group! Everything was amazing!!
My friends and I visit Bravo for special occasions. The fresh vegetables were my favorite dish of the brunch selections. Look forward to another visit.
Food was excellent and service was great.
The variety of food was great. And very tasty. The price point for a brunch buffet was a little bit on the higher side. Plus, we were told it was only $17 per person versus $20 per person.
As always, fantastic!!
Overall it was a very nice evening. Food was good and the service was great.
Food was excellent! Table was a little small to hold everything. Bread was very tasty.
The best thing about Bravo is the consistency of quality service and food. My Japanese guests loved the mushroom soup and every plate was completely empty. They enjoyed the whitefish and the crab and shrimp ravioli.
Food seemed like frozen microwave food, plus afterwards I got very sick to my stomach. Will not be returning.
So sorry about your experience at Bravo. We strive to make all of our food from scratch and would love to get more input to improve on quality. Please call if you can discuss this Terry Hagen Owner Bravo restaurant 1-269-344-7700
Our meal was great -the food was hot and yummy. Our server did a very nice job.
Glad you had a great experience with us
Had a wonderful Birthday brunch!!
We had a wonderful time. It was a very special night.
Food was excellent, as usual! Our favorite restaurant in Kalamzoo!
The food is always tastefully presented and delicious, and the ambiance is comfortable and quiet. The craft beer, pizza, and pasta are especially tasty. We have never left disappointed!
Have been here several times and always pleased. However, this visit we were squeezed into a tiny both that would have been tight for two let alone four. After being told there was no other table available the manager set up a table and we were much more comfortable. Needless to say if we hadn’t been offered another seating option I think we may have left or would have been very disappointed with our visit.
Great settings, reasonable noise level for a good conversation around the table. Service was OK, a bit slower than one would expect. Food was a disappointment, average at best. For the prices charged it would be expected to have better taste and presentation. Essentially, it felt like an average Italian restaurant with above-average process.
Service was good and the food was excellent although we had to send a steak back (was rare and we wanted medium). They were very apologetic and in the end the steak was perfect. Great atmosphere and friendly wait staff.
I held a small company Christmas gathering for my team and everything was perfect! I would suggest Bravo to anyone.
Bravo is absolutely the best Sunday Brunch in Portage!
Everything about Bravo was excellent. They were very accommodating with me changing reservations 3 times. Food was very good. Reasonably priced. Server was attentive even though she was busy. Highly recommend
It’s was amazing
The whole experience from the staff, food and ambience was very nice. My only minor concern was the lighting at our booth in the corner was not very illuminating at all to be able to see the menu and our paperwork for our 2 person meeting. I almost asked to be moved to a table where the lighting seemed a lot brighter.
What a pleasant, delightful surprise! I'm generally suspicious of buffets: so often, it's a restaurant's excuse for dumping the week's tidbits and cleverly disguising them. Not so here: everything was fresh, attractively displayed, and very tasty. The variety of things was impressive - salads, pizza, breakfast fare, and an extensive selection of entrees. Even a picky eater could leave with a belly full of food!
Although the restaurant was full, the separate areas for breakfast, entrees and desserts made traffic flow free of congestion, minimizing an individual's wait.
The servers were prompt with beverage orders and removed used plates unobtrusively. The volume of the music was just right: subtle enough to muffle conversation at other tables, but not overpowering.
I could write more, but you get the picture. We will definitely be back, and not just for brunch.
Sunday Brunch was very tasty. We were seated under a fan which made it chilly and in turn our food turned cold very fast. Other than that, it was a very pleasant meal. Enjoyed the selection of food and complimentary Mimosa! The desserts were just so so.
