Bratalian Neapolitan Cantina Ratings and Reviews
First they didn't have our reservation, said they do not use OpenTable anymore. I order a steak and it was average, my wife order lasagna, half of the lasagna dish was cheese with very few noodles if any. She piled the cheese on her bread dish, 4 inches in width by 2 inches in height of cheese. She showed the waiter, he said he was sorry that she was dissatisfied. Never offered anything else and never offered to take it off the bill. We will never return and we will tell our friends about our bad experience.
Bratalian is outstanding. It is a simple, small neighborhood restaurant tucked away in a shopping center. Once you enter, you are welcomed warmly and made to feel like family. The chef and her sister run the kitchen. The daughter is one of the hosts. The food is delicious and freshly made as you order. Everything is well prepared, attractively plated and tasty. Go! Make a reservation!
I found that the restaurant was a real Delight in that the food was fantastic. The staff are all excellent and very Charming. Although sometimes not quite as attentive that you would want them to be still they were very friendly and it was a good experience. I will be going back.
Food was good but felt it was overpriced. Waiter needed to be more informed as to what they serve for desserts. Twice he misinformed us that they had something (cannoli, pistachio gelato) and we had ordered it only to find out they don't have it. Friendly atmosphere.
The meatballs were the saving grace to a horrible dinner for 2. We went to try for restaurant week. Wasted our money. The pasta was mediocre. I had the penne in vodka sauce. The sauce was ok but they used boxed pasta. Was shocked they didn't use fresh. Nothing wrong with boxed pasta but when you charge the prices they charge, you better get the real deal. Also, very salty. My wife has the fettuccine Alfredo. Very bland, no flavor, and chicken was very pasty white and rubbery. The must not believe in air conditioning. It was very warm inside and uncomfortable. We took our dessert home. They looked very good. The mud cake and riccota cheesecake. The mud cake was to sweet and had no form of cake. Just moose like texture and marshmallow.....we think was marshmallow. We didn't try the cheesecake due to the diabetic coma we were in from the mud cake. This place does not know how to balance flavors. It's a shame, we heard so many good things about this place and to be disappointed is a shame. That was the biggest waste of $100 we ever spent including tip on lousy service. We will never go back again. Till next time..... let's eat!!
This is the fourth time dining at Bratalian. First three were wonderful. This time not so. My husband's veal dish, although flavorful, was over cooked . I had the chicken milanaise which was chicken deep fried under a bed of arugula . Nether dish was appealing.
Server not very neat in appearance. Our usual server, Javier was off.
All in all not a great experience.
The exterior of the restaurant is quite plain and unassuming, but once you enter the restaurant, you are impressed with the local crowds and delicious food. The menu is small and there are usually specials offered. The staff is polite, but the service can be slow. So just relax and enjoy it. The food was excellent and expertly prepared. My guest had the lamb chops, which were tender and flavorful. I had the special grilled swordfish, which was equally delicious. The vegetables were wonderful. Loved it!
A real neighborhood find. Visited with my mother and sister when recently in Las Vegas. Tried here because they live near Henderson. Really glad I did. I had a very satisfying veal piccata, as good as I have every had. My mother had the spaghetti and meatball, which she enjoyed. My sister had the special pasta in cream sauce with ham and peas-excellent. The real highlight was the tiramisu.
On par with other well-regarded local Italian restaurants such as Nora's and Ventano's. Would certainly visit again.
From entry to this restaurant to leaving it was a great experience. My husband ordered saltinbocca which although not on menu was prepared by chef with no problem. I had linguine and clams , excellently prepared. This was the second time we ate at Bratalian and will happily return. Our server, Havier not only remembered what we drank but remembered what we had ordered last time .
It's wonderful to have a special place to dine in the Anthem neighborhood. Rather eclectic decor with a mix of modern and old Italian street scenes, but very welcoming atmosphere. The salads, lasagna, and ravioli were wonderful; however some commented that other pastas were light on seasonings. Entrees we tried were good but not fabulous, and deserts were wonderful but pricy at $10 each. The staff are delightful and gracious about splitting all types of dishes. Wish they opened for lunch, but I can understand as crowds don't arrive until later in the evening (they open at 5 p.m.).
Great neighborhood restaurant. small but cozy with excellent food. Great service and the food will make your mouth water. Not overly expensive but not cheap either. Warm, friendly, I've been there several time s and would continue ging back without hesitation. I recommend it all the time!
Everything was fabulous! The food, our server Ricky! Everything. Every sauce, broth, dressing, or dessert was amazing!! The bartender even made a special spicy cocktail for me that was off the charts! Ask for "The Spicy Jacarita!" Delicious! Definitely going back at least once a month to try something new! 💙💙💙
I truly believe food is about life memories...tonight is no exception. I'm embarrassed to say this is my first time..but DEFINITELY NOT the last time. Tonight i was transported back to the small mom and pop italian restaurant's i was blessed to grow up with in New Jersey. Chef Carla Pellegrino has an absolute gem here...thank you chef....for bringing back such great life memories through your passion of food and service!
Chicken marsala was good. Bread served with meal was mediocre. Service was awful. Saw our waiter twice all night and wound up getting our own pitcher of water and serving ourselves. The manager helped out with service as apparently they were short of staff but this is not a cheap place to eat and being seated back by the bathrooms made me immediately wonder if we would get poor service. As I said, food seemed to be okay but would not go back due to service issue.
I think there are a few confusing issues with this restaurant. It was our 1st. time dining there and we were taken back by the decor, ie, clothes strung along a clothesline. (WHAT?) The second was the rather loud Italian Rap music, which I am sure has it's place somewhere, but maybe not for dining.
Enough of that, let's get to the food. We ordered the fish special and it looked like a frozen diet meal. Dried out fish swimming in spinach and tons of cut up tomatoes. UGH-no!
We also ordered the porkchop with vinegar peppers. There was no mention on the menu of the dish being too hot/spicy to eat. It was.
The third dish was a fried chicken cutlet with Arugula salad over the top which was good. It would have been much better with a more flavorful dressing on the Arugula.
We all had salads which was supposed to have shaved parmesan cheese on top, well it didn't.
The service was way to casual and I was called "Sweetheart" and my Husband was referred to as "My Man". Oh no, not a good thing. Very unprofessional, especially when he told us he was "working really hard tonight". Oh so sorry to bother you!!!!!
We drove from Summerlin to visit this restaurant after seeing the Chef/Owner on Channel 8 Morning News.
So very disappointed.
Won't be returning.
The food at Bratalian is on par with any Italian restaurant in the world. Walter, Allesandra and Carla have worked hard to make meals that are memorable and exceptional. I have eaten everything on the menu. Highlights for first time guests: Pork Chop, Chicken Scarpiello, Lasagna, Penne, Peas and prosciutto and the meatballs. The staff are attentive and dedicated. Work a visit.
