Brasserie S&P at Loews San Francisco Hotel Ratings and Reviews
I used to like coming here for good food and quiet conversation. On the last trip, I was disappointed to have to lead my business colleague through a labyrinth of tunnels and work areas to get to the restaurant. We ordered and my food was bad: the lobster salad tasted old and had unappetizing chewy bits. Then the waiter could not be found for the final bill. All in all very disappointing. I would not go back until they have cleaned this place up.
Great meal with farm greens salad garnished with pomegranate seeds, persimmon, candied walnuts, grated goat cheese, NC Campbell River Salmon with red quinoa, baby carrots, Kale & micro greens ending with tiny meringues with kiwi, berries & citruses. Wine by the glass was Russian River Twomey Pinot Noir. Great waitstaff!
This is an upscale restaurant inside the Lowes. My family and I ate breakfast here 3 days in a row. Everything was fantastic. There is a nice selection on the menu. We live eating healthy and there were plenty of options for us. The servers did a great job. My only knock on it would be the pricing. It is an extremely expensive breakfast. It is top notch though.
Not worth it unless you are on Company Dime!
Very inconsistent service. The options for vegetarians are very limited and what was there was tasteless, even though the ingredients looked fresh. They skimp on quantity. So, expect to come out hungry!
So basically, expensive hotel food. Shame, since they really need to compete with all the other great options within half a block of them to stay in the game.
I had the the dry-aged steak. It was excellent, especially for "not a steak house". I ordered rare, and it was more on the medium/medium-rare side ... but still very tasty. I also tried some of the salmon and it was excellent - and cooked perfectly. They were having a margarita tasting event going on and the samples were very good. Had creme brûlée for dessert and it ok, but on the smaller size. While everything was very good to excellent, pricing was on the high side for the quality. I didn't leave thinking I have to go back here - but it did meet my expectations for a restaurant in a hotel.
Waited 15 minutes to be seated for a 12:30 lunch. Food order was screwed up and didn't get two salad entrees and three chicken sandwiches for 45 minutes. Was told our order was up next near the end which was obvious as there was no other table without food (only about 3 tables had people at that point). I ordered chicken breast, and they brought a sandwich instead if the entree and I had to ask for sweetener for iced tea twice and it took close to 15 minutes. I should have just gone and found some but I was with clients. They did comp my chicken sandwich and iced tea and diet cokes. Didn't bother sending back sandwich at that pony but only ate the 4 oz of chicken as didn't want bread or French fries.
Was going to order salmon but they were out at 12:30 pm?
Won't be back.
A great option for a business lunch, get together, or anytime you are looking for a place to have soup, salad and a sandwich with the ambiance of a nice restaurant. The service is impeccable, and was very pleased to find high quality ingredients prepared in unique but comforting ways. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The menu had very limited choices: 4 sandwich options, a couple salads and perhaps 4 or 5 entrees. Flavors of the food were great, but portions were small. The ambiance is so-so. It feels like you're sitting in the hotel's lobby, and the dining chairs are more suitable for a lobby or library than for sitting up to eat. Service was accurate and timely, but not particularly charming. They need more menu options and a more filling lunch (bigger portions) to justify coming back here regularly.
Because it is a business hotel, the restaurant is nicely appointed, even with groups it is not too noisy. Service was attentive w/tout being obtrusive. We come for the hamburger (which we rarely eat) which used to be on the dinner menu, but we ask for it and are kindly obliged.
I have used the old restaurant at the hotel before the change-over to Loew's and was pleased with food and service, and also good for a business meal. This was my first time at the Brasserie since the hotel change, and while menu was interesting it was limiting, and we both had the raviolis which was covered in thick sauce like a soup - the raviolis were actually smothered in the sauce. Not very good. Service was very good.
A remarkable establishment nestled into the first floor of this office & hotel building. We didn't have the opportunity to sample the normal menu items, but the staff and head chef, Kevin, went out of their way to accommodate our off menu request. The presentation and preparation of the entree was spectacular. This place takes pride in their excellence.
