Warning label needed: When we booked our business breakfast at Brasserie, we had no idea whatsoever that the restaurant area was under construction and that Brasserie had moved to occupy a banquet space on a temporary basis. The temporary quarters were not at all what we had expected. However, we had no choice and was too late to try to find another restaurant on a rainy day. So, we were overall not satisfied. The food was good, and the service ok. They're doing the best they can in an unpleasant locale. But, once again, we wish we had some foreknowledge of this change prior to booking.
The food was very good but service was slow. I had to flag down our waitress a few times and ask another worker that we were ready to order our main course.
Steak and fries was fantastic. NY Steak was juicy and everything you could want. However, it is a hotel and cheap ketchup arrives to accompany in a mini Heinz bottle.
The ambiance in the temporary digs though is so horrible, I’d avoid this at all costs. It feels like you’re having a meal at a horrible sales conference for a small company. Sooo depressing.
Lowes should shut it down until the regular dining room is back.
Very pricey for the experience.
The restaurant is being refurbished and so we were taken upstairs where it looked temporary. Service was slow. Menu was limited
The hotel is currently under renovation. Food is still good... but the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired at this stage. And leave yourself a few extra minutes if you're meeting someone and being on time is important to you.
I used to like coming here for good food and quiet conversation. On the last trip, I was disappointed to have to lead my business colleague through a labyrinth of tunnels and work areas to get to the restaurant. We ordered and my food was bad: the lobster salad tasted old and had unappetizing chewy bits. Then the waiter could not be found for the final bill. All in all very disappointing. I would not go back until they have cleaned this place up.
We were disappointed. Our waiter stumbled and my friend’s coat ended up covered with wine, and so was the table. He never offered to pay for the dry cleaning.
The food was good, but expensive for what it was.
I won’t go back.
Hotel is under renovation but they did a nice job of setting up the restaurant during this process. The food is very good and so is the service. It is convenient for business meetings.
Fantastic service and quiet ambiance
Great meal with farm greens salad garnished with pomegranate seeds, persimmon, candied walnuts, grated goat cheese, NC Campbell River Salmon with red quinoa, baby carrots, Kale & micro greens ending with tiny meringues with kiwi, berries & citruses. Wine by the glass was Russian River Twomey Pinot Noir. Great waitstaff!
Excellent Thanksgiving lunch. Wil definitely return and highly recommend. Surprised reservations were not full which was nice. Hope it stays that way so we can get a table next year ;)
Food was good but service was incredibly slow. I’m guessing they misplaced our order because several tables who came in after us were served before us.
The food was delicious and service was outstanding. We had late night desert, breakfast, and lunch over 3 days. Each time the food was excellent!
Food was fine, and service average. The restaurant was busy and service was not consistent. We had to wait for coffee refills.
Should have background music on
We had nice dinner but surrounding we're dull
Expensive but good quality. I recommend the Sal man platter. The orange juice is expensive too but fresh squeezed but gone in a sip.
We love Brasserie S&P for business breakfasts, lunches and late afternoon snacks and drinks. It is beautiful, tasteful and the staff is so kind and courteous. We work in the area and this is one of our favorite spots.
This is an upscale restaurant inside the Lowes. My family and I ate breakfast here 3 days in a row. Everything was fantastic. There is a nice selection on the menu. We live eating healthy and there were plenty of options for us. The servers did a great job. My only knock on it would be the pricing. It is an extremely expensive breakfast. It is top notch though.
Artichoke soup is really fantastic. Very quiet ambiance if you're looking for conversation.
Really great service as always and the food is always interesting and well prepared. Great place.
Not worth it unless you are on Company Dime!
Very inconsistent service. The options for vegetarians are very limited and what was there was tasteless, even though the ingredients looked fresh. They skimp on quantity. So, expect to come out hungry!
So basically, expensive hotel food. Shame, since they really need to compete with all the other great options within half a block of them to stay in the game.
Peter is a great waiter. Enjoy coming. However, it is clear the restaurant is understaffed
Excellent mother's day brunch.
We had brunch for Mother's Day, food was great.
I had the the dry-aged steak. It was excellent, especially for "not a steak house". I ordered rare, and it was more on the medium/medium-rare side ... but still very tasty. I also tried some of the salmon and it was excellent - and cooked perfectly. They were having a margarita tasting event going on and the samples were very good. Had creme brûlée for dessert and it ok, but on the smaller size. While everything was very good to excellent, pricing was on the high side for the quality. I didn't leave thinking I have to go back here - but it did meet my expectations for a restaurant in a hotel.
A nice quiet restaurant to have a business meeting.
Fast service. Beautiful setting
Great food for an internal breakfast meeting! Would recommend for those looking for something simple and easy.
The food was good and the staff was attentive but the ambience was not great. it's basically a hotel lobby where they have a restaurant but the food was enjoyable
The food and service was very good. The only hiccup was that the venue was a bit noisy and some of our guests had difficulty hearing others at the table.
Great staff and food.
One of few dining rooms in the City where you can actually talk
Waited 15 minutes to be seated for a 12:30 lunch. Food order was screwed up and didn't get two salad entrees and three chicken sandwiches for 45 minutes. Was told our order was up next near the end which was obvious as there was no other table without food (only about 3 tables had people at that point). I ordered chicken breast, and they brought a sandwich instead if the entree and I had to ask for sweetener for iced tea twice and it took close to 15 minutes. I should have just gone and found some but I was with clients. They did comp my chicken sandwich and iced tea and diet cokes. Didn't bother sending back sandwich at that pony but only ate the 4 oz of chicken as didn't want bread or French fries.
Was going to order salmon but they were out at 12:30 pm?
Won't be back.
Service was fantastic, thoughtful and generous. Also very efficient
A great option for a business lunch, get together, or anytime you are looking for a place to have soup, salad and a sandwich with the ambiance of a nice restaurant. The service is impeccable, and was very pleased to find high quality ingredients prepared in unique but comforting ways. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
There was drilling or cutting metal going on throughout the meal which made it extremely difficult to have a conversation and an hb
Wendy is always great and so is the hostess/greeter.
Restaurant seems understaffed
Wonderful! A group of us had a breakfast meeting there, and it was wonderful! The location was convenient in the Financial District, the food was delicious and the service was good. It was fairly quiet and a good place to have a discussion.
The menu had very limited choices: 4 sandwich options, a couple salads and perhaps 4 or 5 entrees. Flavors of the food were great, but portions were small. The ambiance is so-so. It feels like you're sitting in the hotel's lobby, and the dining chairs are more suitable for a lobby or library than for sitting up to eat. Service was accurate and timely, but not particularly charming. They need more menu options and a more filling lunch (bigger portions) to justify coming back here regularly.
Food and service is excellent.
Staff was overrun. They were nice and apologetic, but it took 20 minutes before a waiter could even get to us and then people that arrived well after us were served before us. Most troubling was that this was our experience and it wasn't even that crowded.
Because it is a business hotel, the restaurant is nicely appointed, even with groups it is not too noisy. Service was attentive w/tout being obtrusive. We come for the hamburger (which we rarely eat) which used to be on the dinner menu, but we ask for it and are kindly obliged.
