My husband had a really good hamburger; the mussels were good and service was fine.

What a neighbor gem! Not your typical menu, selections are so different and scrumptious! But you can have great brunch dishes for the less adventurous eaters which are well prepared.

"Comfort" Belgian food. The croque madame was well executed. Good selection of beers. Fun vibe: people seem to be having fun.

Service picked up after I sent the cold rubber duck back, which by the way took forever to get. Maybe it sat around for awhile. What troubles me is they weren't busy at all. The owner and one of the waiters found time to sit and chat with two of the patrons. Used to enjoy this place but it's off the list.

I booked Brasserie Magritte due to its menu and also close proximity to the Met for dinner. Its about a 4 block walk. We were seated quickly, but the restaurant was pretty busy. The waiter was very apologetic throughout the night about how busy it was, but he was pretty attentive. We brought our two kids (12 and 9) with us and both found selections easily (can't go wrong with steak and burgers with those two, which they polished off so apparently they were good). I had the meatballs (you get two very large ones, I only managed to eat one), and my husband got the flemish beef stew, which was very good. The menu had both new and old belgian option that were of the comfort food variety. We didn't have any but a lot of the tables ordered mussels. Of course had a belgian waffle for dessert. There was also a great beer selection, that I'm sure many others would enjoy as well. We don't go to NYC but a few times a year, but if in that part of town would definitely stop by to try other items on the menu.

Our waiter must have been new and busy........he just couldn't get thing quite right.
Throwing two scallops and two shrimp into the mussels doesn't make it Bouillabaisse

Great fries and salad, good omelette, subpar burger (poor meat quality), nice perk of free first drink during weekend brunch. Very nice waiter and bartender and fun atmosphere

I had visited this restaurant before and found great Belgian food, accompanied by good choices of beers and wines for acceptable prices. Very good service in a pleasant atmosphere.
Most was still there and the menu seemed as promising as before with great Belgian dishes.
The realization was more mixed though. We had three different kinds of croquettes, bitterballen, shrimp and duck; the bitterballen lacked taste. Overall spicing and spices were not as good as before. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere is still fun. But while I would have heartily recommended every dish in the past, there is now an element of luck involved.

Excellent food and a great selection of Belgian beers. Very friendly staff . I am from Europe and lived just minutes from Belgium: I can tell this place gives you a true and complete Belgian experience. MUCH better than B cafe on 75th street.

We had received an email to celebrate our anniversary at Magritte, so I made a reservation to be sure that we could. We've been there many times ad always like it. Although, they apparently didn't look at the reservation, we had an excellent dinner and excellent service.

The restaurant turned out to be closed for renovations after being open for a short while. I was disappointed in this as it had the best burger around and fantastic pork chop with special potatoes.
Love the atmosphere and hope that they open again soon.
thank you

Brunch came with complementary fruit and baked goods. Both not very good. Omelettes should have come with a few fries. $9 for ala carte fries is a ripoff. Restaurant was very hot. Expensive for what we got. Mussels and omelettes were very good

Very mediocre food and painfully slow service. Only go here if you have hours to waste and no appreciation for quality food. That said, despite all that, the ambiance was good and the servers were nice. So maybe get drinks at the bar only.

Coming into Brasserie Magritte reminded me of a European bistro...cozy, charming and very nicely decorated (apparently by the owner, who did a good job). We had a good hard cider,
which went perfectly with the mussels in beer sauce, and the mushroom starter was delicious (and need to come back to get this again!). Of course, the frites were good, and the only comment is that one order wasn't enough for two to share. Oh well, next time we'll get two.
Mussels were very fresh!

All the benefits of a good neighborhood bar plus the charm of Belgian beers and food cooked in them. Pub menu with a twist. Went back 2 nights later with out-of-town friends, such a fun place to take them.

Lots of exotic tap and bottle beers, all from Belgium, and good advice about them. Our server, a Hungarian with a terrific Poirot accent(!), was very very good. The food was really above average--eating the leftover of my duck breast dinner, I'd say it's excellent! (A dish that gets better overnight in the fridge.) The restaurant is a comfortable little place.

We were so happy to find a quiet, calm restaurant to offer a real respite from the hub bub of NYC. No TV's, no loud music playing, just a lovely place with a back room for private parties even. The mussels were cooked to perfection and the Belgian fries delicious. Terrific beer and wine selections. The staff was super friendly and took care of our every need.

I think the service was above average and the drinks were good. I was however disappointed with my ham and cheese crepe. The cheese was not good - more of a creamy substance than something freshly melted. It was OK but would go back and try something else maybe. Bloody mary was good and nice space to get brunch.
