The restaurant is going down hill. Big attitude by waiters and hostess will not go back
The food was excellent, and we enjoyed all of it. One of the best calamari dishes I ever had. The only opinion I have is that I think it was a little expensive, though the place was packed. The only problem was that one of the appetizers was missing some toast, and though we asked for it, they said it wasn't supposed to be included even though it was on the menu we didn't feel like arguing. Also, they come around and give you 1 piece of bread. You can ask for another, but you have to wait for the bread guy to come around. I think some should be on the table for the prices. I would definitely go again because I enjoyed the food so much, despite the issues, but I think next time I will get a groupon.
HUGE disappointment! This was one of our regular "go to" restaurants for many years, as we eat every meal out. But... since about a year ago, when Ryan, the manager left, it has really suffered. The food is average and the service is definitely not what it was. Chicken Caesar was dried out with thin slices of overdone chicken and a minimal amount of lettuce. Burger was good but asked for a pickle and they don't even have that and thought they were rude. We would definitely not return. There are too many wonderful French bistro's in the area that put this to shame.
Great mussels, great bread, all around very good food experience.
Always great food and service
I found the food to be just ok, my dish had very little flavor.
I felt the price was high and not a good value.
The food and service was wonderful as usual. The fried calamari melts in your mouth. Soooo good.
Food and service were excellent.
Mediocre food is served in a noisy environment. All in all, pass this place up.
Food and service is always consistently very good
We had a very nice dinner at Brasserie Cassis. The food was delicious and the service was great.
Always awesome
This was my first time at Cassis on the recommendation of many friends. The food was unbelievable and the service was great. I will definitely be back for more authentic and creative French food! Thank you!
Mussels are awesome
Excellent!!!! The food is great, filling enough to take home. The service is great ,always there with water. Makes you feel like your in Paris
Love this place. Cassis is my go to spot for fine dining
Food is delicious. Service is always good. Drinks are awesome. It is a bit pricey although the food is very good.
Very good french restaurant! Love the food there and it reminds me of Paris ! Is a “must try “ restaurant
This visit delivered with excellent duck and French ambiance. Caesar salad and Pinot Noir we're great compliments.
Just like Paris. No rushing even on a busy Saturday!
The duck was not as crip as we hope this time. In the past it was perfect.
Great food and service brings me back to this French brasserie all the time
Went for brunch and we had so much fun. Food was exceptional, service top notch. We’re coming back!!!
The food that I had always remembered as being excellent, was mediocre at best.
Always great food and responsive service
Wasn’t really overwhelmed. Would rather pay the money we paid and go to la plage.
Please read the entire review before making your decision.
My husband and I frequent here a lot. To the point where I feel like we have a standing reservation. The service is on point, the drinks are on point, BUT recently the menu has changed dramatically to where the majority of dinner items are sandwiches. I honestly thought I was given the lunch menu by mistake.
Some of the staples were removed such as the sautéed shrimp and seared scallops with mushroom risotto, beef bourguignon aux tagliatelles, the steak ah poivre, and all of the weekly specials. They were all replaced with salads and sandwiches.
We ended up ordering the duck (which by the way the original duck breast with duck confit was removed a while ago... their best dish by far) and the crab salad sandwich. Both tasted good but for dinner I want a heartier dish. I didn’t have many options.
This review is hopefully something that will reach the chef or whoever made the decision to change the entire menu. We love this place but we’re disappointed in the menu and lack of comparable dishes.
Brasserie Cassis is a lovely little French style cafe with a pleasant ambiance , a patient, attentive waitstaff and delicious food that is presented in a lovely manner. Would recommend the French Onion Soup and the thick pork shop, as well as the salads. The chicken, however was a bit dry and over cooked on one occasion. Certainly worth a visit.
Good meal at Cassis, had the lobster sandwich, it was delicious, burger and fries were good too!
After hearing great things about this restaurant, we decided to give it a shot for a date night/ birthday dinner. Our meal was outstanding. The ambiance was nice. It was a great choice.
Everything was great, but when it came time to pay the bill there was an awkward situation. When I payed the bill we leave a cash tip on the table, so on the credit card slip the tip is zero. The waiter came back looking for his tip!!! This is what I found distasteful. So we decided to leave less of a tip, and the waiter was clearly displeased with that and followed us out of the restaurant. Not a pleasant ending to an otherwise lovely evening
Really enjoyed our evening, food was fantastic very French, delicious. Nice atmosphere and very reasonable. Definitely going back.
Our server was very attentive and a great sport, the food was all delicious, I will definitely be back!
I took my wife on our Anniversary as she has traveled extensively in France and wanted to have her enjoy a "French" experience closer to home-she loved it and felt the ambiance and choices on the menu were very authentic. The food was delicious and as I am a vegetarian found enough on the menu to fill me up.
A great atmosphere for lunch or a romantic dinner. Food is delicious.
Brasserie Cassis is a local neighborhood restaurant for me. I have eaten here on many occasions over the years and since it has opened. I follow and eat at this restaurant groups other restaurants as well.
For me to go here for a special occasion has been usually a great experience. Valentine's Day may have been my worst experience with this restaurant so far. Only the food and drinks were off.
We always start off with the House (champagne) sparkling wine Usually good, cold and decent enough for $10. Valentines Day, not good, not cold and probably Persecco, and not their regular French stuff. No we did not send it back as it is not all that important for me. A sweet Persecco, not even brut.
Next - Salad Cassis - always big enough for two, lots of stuff, blue cheese and nuts. Not this time. The salad was reduced by 50%, 2 beets, a small sprinkling of cheese and no nuts (menu still states nuts?) Again, quite disappointing for a regular customer.
Entrée of Chicken and Steak were to perfection as usual.
If the restaurant is having problems, they are showing it. I will give them one last chance in a few weeks.
For $125 the meal should be much better and not leave you disappointed.
This is our go to place to celebrate or just have a wonderful dining experience.
Everything from the beginning to the end of the meal was wonderful except the noise level is insane.
Restaurant was extremely loud. Table of young parents with screaming toddlers on a Saturday night and they did nothing to quiet the children. Also, while the food was good, it came to the table at the pace of eating at the diner. I didn't expect an all night affair, but I didn't expect to be completely done with my evening in under an hour.
Loved my meal at Brasserie Cassis. Had the onion soup, which was flavorful and hearty. Enjoyed the pork chop, smothered with almonds, kale and fingerling potatoes. A bit sweet for me, but still an interesting dish. The chocolate mousse was out of this world.
