The menu looks really appetizing, but the food came out very bland. We've had better French onion soup at the diner. My wife and I went here for lunch, we ordered 2 soups, 1 tart, 1 chicken sandwich and 1 grilled salmon - the meal was $90...ridiculous.
First time to Brasserie Cassis and we were impressed with the food. Dishes we loved were the fried calamari - very tender and a delicious coating. The tuna tartare was outstanding as was the roasted duck in orange sauce. Will be back!
The grouper special was excellent, as was the service. However, the Caesar salad was disappointing. The portion was skimpy and it was served almost dry - virtually no dressing on it. Probably won’t order that again.
Good food and service
A regular spot for us. Never disappointed. Great service and food
Enjoyable evening at Brasserie Cassis. Great service and staff. Onion soup was a standout and the mussels I had were plump and delicious. Husband had special of rack of lamb. Tasty bread came with unsalted butter and ramekin of pate. Memorial Day was quiet and noise level was low and staff was very attentive. Great place to find traditional French food and wine selections.
Always excellent. Food always perfection. Charming decor. Lovely service. Weekend brunch is a delight.
one of our favorite restaurants the best rack of lamb
We were there with another couple for Mother's Day dinner. Our friends had the mussels and said they were excellent. We had the steak tartar which was delicious and the trout almondine also great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant .
We've never dined here for dinner due to the unfriendly vegetarian menu. But friends wanted to go, so my kosher vegetarian husband agreed. He ordered the tuna baguette with no bacon. He said put the bacon on another plate for another one in our party. The waiter said he understood that my husband did not want his plate "contaminated" with unkosher meat. The sandwich arrives and so does the bacon on a separate plate. So far, so good. Then he takes a bite of the sandwich and spits it out immediately and starts gagging!! The sandwich was full of bacon!!!! The waiter saw the mistake and said the kitchen is used to making it with bacon and didn't read his instructions. This is not acceptable! My husband's order should have been followed. He was sickened over this mistake and did not even want to try another order. We will not be back to Brassiere Cassis.
We always meet one special couple here. Enjoy it every time. Never disappointed.
The food was excellent and the service was great as well ..very nice cozy place to eat
We were greeted by friendly and well dressed host who guided us to a comfortable booth. Table service was of high quality. Food was of high quality. Although the restaurant was busy, there was no pressure placed upon us to move it along, thus maintaining the pleasant atmosphere throughout the duration of our visit.
Service seems to be slowing up.
I drove >30 miles to meet a friend here and it was well worth it. Great atmosphere, exquisite meal, great dessert and coffee and reasonable. Highly recommended.
The food is so amazing both in taste and presentation. We've been coming here for years and my husband who is a super critical Frenchman loves it! Always enjoyable and consistent. Truly the best French food on long island, extremely authentic.
food terrific service adequate, BUT Restaurant week, so excusable.
Soooo noisy!!! But what can they do? Maybe put in acoustical tile?
We checked out four restaurants this week because of restaurant week. The food here was excellent but we made our reservation for 7pm We asked for price fixe menu and we were told that at 7pm they were only serving from their regular menu. We stayed anyway but I feel they should have emphasized that when I called to make the reservation considering it was restaurant week. Very noisy but overall a nice experience. Our waiter, Steven, was terrific
My husband and I had a terrible experience at Brasserie Cassis. They did not honor restaurant week when we arrived at 6:55 pm and had to order from the regular menu. The $16 dollar salad consisted of a handful of arugula and three slices of strawberries and four slices of an almond.
My flounder entree was the size of an appetizer as well as my husband’s salmon entree. The proportion of food is very, very small. There is no value. We left hungry and will never return to this establishment.
Came here for restaurant week. There is a price fixe menu. We had the onion soup and cassis salad to start, which were both delicious. The chicken and salmon were very good. And the dessert and coffee was excellent. Would recommend.
Excellent food and nice ambience.
The hostess was very rude.
good location for us. always a good meal and friendly staff!
The restaurant is going down hill. Big attitude by waiters and hostess will not go back
The food was excellent, and we enjoyed all of it. One of the best calamari dishes I ever had. The only opinion I have is that I think it was a little expensive, though the place was packed. The only problem was that one of the appetizers was missing some toast, and though we asked for it, they said it wasn't supposed to be included even though it was on the menu we didn't feel like arguing. Also, they come around and give you 1 piece of bread. You can ask for another, but you have to wait for the bread guy to come around. I think some should be on the table for the prices. I would definitely go again because I enjoyed the food so much, despite the issues, but I think next time I will get a groupon.
HUGE disappointment! This was one of our regular "go to" restaurants for many years, as we eat every meal out. But... since about a year ago, when Ryan, the manager left, it has really suffered. The food is average and the service is definitely not what it was. Chicken Caesar was dried out with thin slices of overdone chicken and a minimal amount of lettuce. Burger was good but asked for a pickle and they don't even have that and thought they were rude. We would definitely not return. There are too many wonderful French bistro's in the area that put this to shame.
Great mussels, great bread, all around very good food experience.
Always great food and service
I found the food to be just ok, my dish had very little flavor.
I felt the price was high and not a good value.
The food and service was wonderful as usual. The fried calamari melts in your mouth. Soooo good.
Food and service were excellent.
Mediocre food is served in a noisy environment. All in all, pass this place up.
Food and service is always consistently very good
We had a very nice dinner at Brasserie Cassis. The food was delicious and the service was great.
This was my first time at Cassis on the recommendation of many friends. The food was unbelievable and the service was great. I will definitely be back for more authentic and creative French food! Thank you!
Mussels are awesome
Excellent!!!! The food is great, filling enough to take home. The service is great ,always there with water. Makes you feel like your in Paris
Love this place. Cassis is my go to spot for fine dining
Food is delicious. Service is always good. Drinks are awesome. It is a bit pricey although the food is very good.
