Mouhsif the bartender was wonderful.
Not a good one. The main course took an hour to get our table and the waiter left us there the whole time. Bad experience, we will never go back again.
The lunch menu was just very typical.
I don’t understand why this place is not more crowded. The food was delicious and our server was great. I would highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit you will not be disappointed.
I had made few reservations for this restaurant in the past. For whatever reasons, all ended up cancelled. At long last, went there for the Long Island Restaurant week special. What a wonderful experience it was. The Duck drumstick and onion soup are great. We also tried all 3 entrees since there is 4 people in our group. All tasted wonderful. I could not even finish my Chicken cutlet and take some home. Finishing the wonderful meal with Creme Brulee and Crepes as dessert and coffee just perfect. Also, our server is very attentive and always carry a big smile just added bonus.
Lovely atmosphere. Good price point. Nice menu choices. Service a little slow.
Arrived on Christmas Day. The Place was empty. Waited about 7 minutes before we finally got greeted and seated. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water. They did not have any. Then they handed us the lunch menu. It was Christmas Day. We wanted dinner. Not available. Then my son ordered a Cheeseburger and he was told they were all out of burgers. At this point, we got up and left.
Overall very good. We had two breakfast meals, one lunch and one dinner at Brasserie Americana during our 2 ½ day stay over the Christmas weekend. The breakfasts were unremarkable - standard hotel fare. Since the weekend was not busy, the buffet was not offered which was understandable. Not much you can do to mess up breakfasts of oatmeal, eggs/bacon so it was fine, just fine. Lunch and dinner was a different story - very well prepared food offered with competent service and a nice presentation. The bread basket was fantastic and each of our selections, from soup to sandwiches to salads to pasta to entrees was tasty, fresh, and a pleasure to enjoy. The setting is okay - nothing fancy or trendy. This is one time the web picture looked BETTER than the actual room but it was still quit acceptable. We were pleased with our stay at the Inn at Great Neck and pleased with our meals Brasserie Americana.
Excellent service and my steak was perfectly cooked, my wifes steak tacos were a treat... Ample sized drinks....
This restaurant was good, but not great. Food was tasty, VERY strong drink, and wait staff was friendly but stretched thin. Maybe going a week other than restaurant week would alleviate this issue.
Food was very good service was impeccable, It was my birthday so they even gave us a bottle of champagne, Very Nice gesture
The most under-rated dining spot on Long Island. We go a few times a year and are always pleased.
Shocking experience. No signs to show where restaurant is located. The windowless bleak room did not have a sign that it was a restaurant. The only person in there was talking (unclear whether on phone or to someone I was unable to see). After 8 minutes of her talking without acknowleding us, she sat us and disappeared. 10 mins later-- no menu, no water, no server. We were the only people there and they were unable to serve us. I half expected the doors to close and someone to come out of kitchen with an axe. We didn't wait any further-- we left! We gave it one star just so we could write this review bc there is no way not to give them no stars! Close the restaurant and instal rest rooms-- better use of space!
It was a Mother's Day Brunch. Disappointed in the fact that food ran out and was not replaced. We were at the 2:30 sitting. By 3p to 315p you could not get some of the choices. bins were empty or near empty. Patrons arriving after us never even had the opportunity of choices, bins were empty. left was pizza and pasta by 3:20p no plates. No waiter to ask. We had to take plates, which were small from the dessert area. Another patron went to the kitchen to find a waiter to get plates.
In addition; never sit anyone next to the kitchen. we were placed right at the kitchen door. when it opened, we could see in. Not very appetizing or lending to the ambiance.
Nice place, food that I did have was good, however; the potential could be better if the focus was placed on the customer. A waiter should be stationed at the buffet area to make sure food does not run out and that plates are always available. the customer should not have to look for a waiter to provide this.
I was disappointing! we went for Mothers day. service was very slow when it came to clearing the dirty dishes off our table. I had to constantly get up and remove my family's plates from our table to make room for dessert, I placed them near the"rolling bar"I was hoping to avoid clearing off dishes (since it was mothers day and my day "OFF". when we arrived the entire kids buffet section was EMPTY>> NOT ONE FRY NOT ONE SLICE OF PIZZA NOT ANY CHICKEN FINGERS> no one there to man AnYTHING, I had to track someone down replenishing a few tray and told them my kids want to eat and these have been empty for a while. (He spoke NO ENGLISH) so the communication was also an issue. The vibration from the train was almost nauseating. I asked what some of the dessert cups were again "No English" so we had to "guess" I was NOT impressed with any of the food or the"Watered down bloody marys) We could NOT wait to get the check and LEAVE!!!!! an hr later we were all starving since no one enjoyed anything. I feel this was a complete waste of $ . I just felt bad for my kids and my husband trying to impress me . we will NEVER be returning. poor food, poor service.. not worth it.
had a great evening....food was amazing...service was great, table and noise level was perfect
When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. Thought that odd because there was only 1 table with customers. If it weren't for it being restaurant week, I would never have gone there. It was ok but nothing special.
Cons: Easter brunch buffet food had been sitting a long time; it showed and tasted as such. Uncomfortable seating, with cramped folding banquet tables that wouldn't accommodate chair legs.
Pros: Friendly staff, nice dessert table
Birthday . The restaurant was fairly empty while we were there, because a wedding party had just left. The service and attention was terrific, and the food was also awesome.
A very quiet and friendly ambiance. Waiter and waitress were all warm and helpful.
We went back for our second Valentines Day Dinner. Service was warm, friendly and pkeasurably attentive.
During the week, they gave specials which include all you can drink wine, coffee etc. I heard everything my date was saying. Food was very good. Valet parking or easy street parking.
The food was very tasty and the service was very attentive. The skirt steak was so tender and they have great olive bread and herb butter. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be returning again. The only thing that I would say needs improvement is how cold they keep the dining room I was absolutely freezing.
The service was excellent as was the food! Will definitely go back!!
Awful food, literally. This was unfortunately our choice for a Friday night date. We should have known to left when we were one of only 3 tables seated at the restaurant on a Friday night. I would not recommend this restaurant at all, no ambiance, no fun, no excitement.
Horrific Thanksgiving Buffet... selection was minimal and what you did have either came out of the freezer or pre made...save you money and time and go some where else
Food was served luke warm, not great quality for price.
Returned for second time in about a month, because it was so enjoyable the first time. Was NOT disappointed, because again superb. Food tasty, nice wine, great options, and the Saturday night Price Fixe, is a great value! Excellent!
This restaurant is located within a private hotel in the rather high end town of Great Neck Long Island. The prices are high end (2 covers about $130) but in line with expectations in that area. My wife made reservations for my Birthday. As it turned out we had the entire restaurant to ourselves right around 6PM on a Friday evening. What we did not know is that the hotel had booked some type of reunion party in the lobby and bar of the hotel. The noise from this event drifted into the restaurant making more loud than we might have liked. The service was pretty good though we were the only people in the actual restaurant. The food was well executed right down to the freshly baked rolls and compound butter that were served. The steak that I had was prepared properly per my order and the sides did not disappoint though they were rather ordinary. My wife had Chicken Milanese which was flavorful and well prepared. The desserts were nicely presented (Crepes and Belgian Waffles) but not worth the $10 price tag per item. All things considered this was a reasonable but not extraordinary meal.
We were looking for a restaurant at the very last minute and found this on Open Table. We were very happy to find this very close, good atmosphere, very good menu and no wait! I had a hard time deciding on an entrée and when three of us ordered the same thing but there were only two left, they gave us our bottle of wine free, for the inconvenience! if I were in that area again I would definitely revisit it
The Saturday price fixe menu is outstanding! Great quality and terrific value!
Excellent food and service in a nice, quiet atmosphere.
Food was very good, but very overpriced.
2nd time here. Small menu, everything classically prepared. I was surprised it was empty, but it is in a hotel so its probably predicated on the number of rooms booked as well. The restaurant beautiful and very formal like. They have a bar in the lobby which I was also surprised was empty, but again, probably has to do with the neighborhood not patronizing the local hotel eateries.
Prices were very good for what you get and the location, being inside a hotel would make it great for date if one choses to make it a romantic evening with your new lady (or gentleman). My son and wife played a little chess right after dinner on the lobby (there is a chess set up) and the Valet parking is a big plus. I really enjoyed the filet mignon with the peppercorn sauce on the side and the Bourguignon & Bread and the Chicken Cordon Bleu were very nice as well.
Will definitely return - If anyone wants a quiet dinner or lunch in a beautiful eatery, this is highly recommended.
We have gone t0 this restaurant many times and loved the special price fixed dinners with wine. The value was great. Although they do not have it anymore, (it is still listed on the menu on the computer) they were gracious and gave us each a glass of wine. I am not sure that we will be going back as much. I do hope that they will bring it back. I also hope that they will take t off the computer as it is not truthful.
Odered Filet Mignon from specials menu of the day early in evening, 5PM, but they were out and provided prime rib instead. Very small, thin, and well done when medium rare was requested. Sent back and returned with nearly same quality.
Excellent experience. Staff is accommodating. Just lovely!
Staff was super friendly & accommodating. Highly recommend...lovely place
We have dined at this restaurant many times and each time has been wonderful. This time they were doing repairs on the main dining room so it was not as quiet or intimate as in the past. The food was great and our friends loved it. We will definitely go back when they have finished renovations.
We found this restaurant thru OpenTable and we are glad we did!
The restaurant was quiet and the service was excellent!
The chicken cordon bleu was delicious and had the perfect amount of cheese.
We loved the creme brulee for dessert! It was the best!
The chef even came out to see if we were happy with our meals!
We will definitely go back!
Impressed.... Seriously impressed. From the moment we were greeted at the entrance I knew (really, i did) that this place was going to be a winner.
We were escorted to our table by an gentle with a warm smiles and a wonderful "good evening." I was surprised though that there was only one other family there. Later Mo explained to me that this restaurant (located inside a hotel) was primarily a weekday place and the evening only starts at the bar before and after the parties at the hotel. None the less...lets get down to the food and beverages.
We did the price fixe dinner that included four courses AND wine & Coffee.
After Gloria came over and explained the price fixe option we immediately dove in and ordered There is a corresponding picture to each item i mention here. I am going to make this simple:
- Shrimp Cocktail - Three large shrimp well cooked as to texture and 'snap' with a good amount of tasty cocktail sauce
- Ahi Tuna Taco - Two large tortilla chips (providing a good crunch to sit underneath the perfectly seared tuna, and avocado
- Onion soup - very fast (without a lot of beef broth taste). Lots of well cooked onions and some seriously good cheese on top of a very crunchy that point.
- boeuf Bourguignon - This was a delightful twist on the classic french recipe... The pieces of meet were more bit sized and I did not get a over abundance of wine in the cause, BUT... This was delicious. It was served with a scoop of a creamy mashed-potatoes on top which was perfect. Both my wife and I finished the plate and both felt that we ate something really good.
It was nice that since it's a four course meal they don't give you an excessive amount of food. Each portion was perfect and totally satisfying
Dessert - Crapes with Ice Cream - This was the perfect way to end this meal... Soft crepes with a rich chocolate ice-cream.
