Met a work friend here for lunch and shopping. We had the BEST quiche either of us have ever had. Light, fluffy, tasty, mouth-watering... wonderful! The salade de maison that accompanied it was perfect. The prices were right, the atmosphere was enchanting and the staff attentive and helpful. Definitely worth the trip, and worth going back.
My girlfriend and I went here for valentines day. The location, town, and setting were great. However, I was not impressed with the food. I had the lamb shank and she had salmon. Both portions were small, the sides were nothing special(mashed potatoes and steamed green beans) and the food was alright. I will say the lobster bisque we started with was very good. This could have been the set menu because of the day we went but I don't think I will be going back to find out.
Great food and upscale feel. Our server was so friendly and relaxed but very attentive. The food and wine were outstanding. We were there for lunch and ordered salads. Mine came with perfectly seared ahi tuna. Will definitely go again.
Heard a lot about Brasserie from friends who dine there frequently, so we had high expectations. Sorry to say our experience did not meet those expectations. The restaurant is lovely and we had a great table by the fireplace and the restaurant is fairly quiet, even though it was full, so you can actually have a conversation. So all those things are positive along with friendly service. BUT, the menus were tattered and stained, which does not make a good impression and our dinners were lackluster in both flavor and presentation. This is NOT fine french cuisine as billed. So, nice enough, but not what it could be.
My first visit on a chilly November Saturday evening yielded a very good meal. Service was a bit odd for an expensive restaurant. Our waiter was great, but seemed misplaced for a restaurant serving 30 - 45 entrees. Salads were good (house, caeser and hearts of palm). Entrees were excellent; veal shank (like butter), lamb chops and duck breast (smallish serving, plate looked lonely). Beautiful interior, though the tv sets were distracting. Romantic fireplace, dark woods all around, really quite lovely.
I took my wife here for her birthday and we were very impressed with the quality of the food and service. I can't speak too much on the typical atmosphere of the restaurant since we were there on a Tuesday night (only 1-2 other couples), but the restaurant itself is very comfortable and well-decorated with heavy dark wood beams and wall paneling and a bright fire in a warm stone fireplace.
I believe that the Lobster Bisque may be the best I have ever had. It comes with an exuding puff pastry on top through which you have to dig to get to the bisque. It is absolutely delicious.
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. The service was slow and we sat at our table for quite a while before a waiter approached to give us menus and take our drink orders. My meal was very good but two others ordered the short rib and scallops which was badly overcooked. It should not have come out of the kitchen. To their credit, the chef did come out to the table to apologize and ask what he could do which was very nice. However, the right thing to do would have been to take at least one of the meal charges off of our bill which they did not do. We didn't feel like arguing about it so we just decided that it probably isn't a place we would go to again.
unfortunately this restaurant seems to be going down hill a bit - the place was empty but for two tables at lunch on a beautiful day in Skippack, Pa. Menus were so worn they were close to falling apart. Our dining partners were delayed in traffic by 30 minutes and we finally had to track down our waiter to get a drink and some bread while waiting for them to arrive. Two of us had the salmon dish which was very good, but the other had the mussels, which were not very tasty and contained much more sausage than mussels. Sad to see this happen to a restaurant we had always enjoyed.
The highlight of the evening was the visit by the Zombies touring the 'hood. They sat at the bar for a half hour. We were given a table by the fireplace which was nice. Both the appy's and the entrees were large portions. The crab crepes were okay as was the escargot. I've never been served so many snails; unfortunately the numbers did not compensate for the grittiness and general lack of flavor. Both the duck and snapper special entrees were large enough for a doggie bag not nothing to rave about. Dessert was okay too. Cocktails were higher priced than many restaurants in town. Very expensive for what you're getting; we didn't see the value.
Frequented Brassiere 73 on many occasions. Always have an enjoyable visit.Food is great, service is very good. Ambience is appropriate for a romantic evening or for small groups.
Nice place for dining outside but be prepared for lots of traffic noise.
Where to begin...? The live music playing outside was deafening, and though we were seated INside it was barely any better -- the staff kept the doors to the outside patio OPEN, giving us no relief. The menu suggests this is an upscale dining establishment, but in truth it's a bar -- a nice bar, but a bar just the same. The bar had two TVs playing college football games, the staff was all over the place, discombobulated and confused, and the meal was average at best. The duck breast was WAY overdone, and the first clue beyond the music that the evening was not going to go well was when the bartender/waiter asked how I'd like the duck cooked. Duck should be served medium rare, period. We will not be returning.
The chicken was dry and overlooked and the onion soup lacked seasoning. Our staff was superb and the desserts were full of flavor as well as our cocktails. Very expensive.
The venue was very nice, in the heart of Skippack. Dining on the patio was very pleasant, despite being only a few feet from Skippack Pike. The service was very good, attentive but not overbearing. This was our first visit. Mixed results on the food. The mussels were well received, with a nice, light wine sauce. The short-ribs with scallops were ok - the short-rib was a bit overdone and the risotto was a bit uninteresting and bland - but the dish has potential and the combination, while unusual, did work. Wine by the glass was a pricey and the two French reds ordered had to be sent back as it was obvious the bottles had been uncorked days earlier and the wine was going south.
I had one really good experience at this restaurant and one not so good experience which was this one.
I think they were understaffed as we had not the
greatest service, I chalk it up to a bad night and I would go back.
I love this place! They have excellent lobster bisque and the entrees are just as fabulous...you must eat here!
Brasserie hits on all cylinders every time we dine there. Consistently fantastic meals, fine ambience, and exemplary service. (Ask for one of Robert's tables!)
Absolutely my wife and my favorite place to go eat. You pay at least double at other restaurant's of equal quality. Love the atmosphere and the servers are always perfect with their timing.

We enjoyed a lovely meal of Braised Short Ribs, and Braised Lamb.The green beans were wonderful, and fresh, yielding slightly when bitten, just perfect.The mushroom ragout served over the Short Ribs was delicious but a little too salty.The Lamb and the Ribs were fork tender, melting in our mouths. The mashed potatoes were creamy, and full-bodied. We enjoyed the scallops served with the Ribs, they weren't overpowered by the mushroom ragout and were prepared properly to the perfect temperature. Desserts Turtle Cheesecake, and Bourbon Pecan Pie, we loved them both equally as well. The cheesecake was fluffy and light, and although we didn't care for the huge mound of chocolate in the front of the cake, we ate around it. All in all, perfect.
Overall a good experience . We were seated beside some folks who must have thought everyone in the room wanted to hear their political rant - the only downer on the evening !
Food was excellent, and service very good. First time here and we plan to go back.
We went for a nice, quiet Valentine's Day lunch and wasn't disappointed. The food is very good, but the lack of clientele didn't match the lethargic service. I think that the bartender was also our server. That notwithstanding, I think that the Brasserie delivered where important and, unfortunately, may even feel a little misplaced in the touristy part of Skippack. We will remember this establishment when in the area.
Brasserie 73 always has a nice menu with good specials. Their wait staff is well informed and they were amenable to changes. Their Steak Diane special is delicious and their wines by the glass are a good selection and a nice pour.

I am extremely disappointed with our experience. I made reservations for my wife and I for New Years Eve. When we arrived, dressed for a French restaurant, the host took us into a room opposite the Brasserie and sat us in a table for two. It seemed like we were not in the restaurant. When our water glasses arrived, my water was in a large Rolling Rock beer glass and my wife's water was in a Yuengling lager beer glass. Although the menu was from Brassiere 73, we noticed that the bar we passed through to get to our table, was getting very loud! When my bill arrived the bill heading was "The Roadhouse". It appears that the restaurant deceived us into thinking we were dining at Brassiere 73, when in fact we were eating at its sister bar!
Had New Year's dinner and to be honest with you we were very disapointed! Started with a cheese tray that I would have been embarrassed to serve. Just not a good meal!
We had a nice birthday dinner for my husband an myself along with my mother, our 5 year old son and 3 week old daughter. The ambiance is very nice, formal, but not too formal that they were unaccepting of our children. We went on a Wednesday evening, and the restaurant wasn't too crowded. The food was very good - after a Caesar salad to start, my mother and I shared the muscles and the portabello mushroom vegetarian option. My husband has the pork chop and my son had bowtie pasta. Next time we go, I will try some of the other items on the menu that interested me!
The food at the Brasserie 73 was superb!! Each course was served in a timely manner, hot. Wait service was friendly, knowlegable about food questions. The restaurant itself is beautiful, romantic and has a fireplace with table next to it. I would go back in a heart beat and I am going to tell my friends about this gem.
Honestly, the food was a little bland for my taste - but it would probably be fine for most people. Service was good - the waiter may have been a bit too friendly - but that is way better than the alternative. I visited in November - so there was no outdoor seating - but I image that it would be very nice in the summer. This will never be one of my favorite restaurants - but I would certainly eat there again.

French restaurant with diverse good selection. The ambiance is continental with linen table cloths a large fire place and dark wood. The service was prompt and friendly. Ideal setting for a dinner meeting or a quiet romantic dinner.

The food was good. My wife had a great steak and I had short ribs. Wish we could have stayed to sample the beer menu.

Not recommended - very expensive despite poor food quality and fair service.
Have eaten here before and loved it. This time was equally good except the kitchen forgot to put the couscous on my plate that came on the Ratouille with couscous dish. They were happy to correct it except the chef remade a whole new dish which took 5-10 min. while my friend was almost finished. I appreciate the chef trying to make a good presentation but since i had already started to eat the meal, the couscous could just have been added to my plate and I would have been happy. Nonetheless, it was an excellent meal.
While the service was nice and the opportunity to eat outside was great, the food was mediocre at best. And honestly, the prices are typical of a night out in the city so it just doesn't warrant another trip for us. Also, if you look up the menu online it is completely different and much smaller at the restaurant. Go at your own will.
