Service was very attentive. The menu was great and was loaded with quality offerings. Enjoyed it once and look forward to going back.
EXCELLENT FOOD AND EXCELLENT SERVICE! VERY CONVENIENT TO THE BARDAVON. DECENT WINE SELECTION!
The wait staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food was delicious and each course was brought out with perfect timing. My wife and I love everything about this place!
Nick our server was excellant good food and drinks 530 on a sat is a good time for dinner always a good time dont forget the deserts the best
We were pleasantly surprised to find Brasserie 292. The food was excellent. And we had the best time with our server -- personable, funny, helpful, and kind. It was a perfect evening.
We ate at Brasserie 292 during a college visit to Marist College. The ambiance of the restaurant is outstanding - the tiled walls and floors and red leather banquettes recall a classic Parisian bistro. The house manager was utterly charming, and his menu recommendations and explanations were interesting and welcomed. He made up for our waiter’s vaguely indifferent service. The food was good - the foie gras parfait is delicious, and the gnocchi was a marvelously light twist on a typical preparation. The Poughkeepsie downtown district is depressed and sketchy, which somewhat dampens the overall experience.
Food was great, service was poor. Waiter left us hanging to service another party of 6. Seemed to be arguing with other wait staff
It was wonderful! Excellent food and attentive staff.
I was a bit late in making Easter reservations, and very lucky to find a table at Brasserie 292. Started with blue points, fried oysters (amazing), and octopus along with a very nice white recommended by our server - who was smiling, attentive, and helpful throughout the meal. All five enjoyed our meals and the excellent assortment of deserts.
The look and atmosphere is designed to mirror Balthazar in NYC, and the owner did a great job capturing the bistro ambiance in a more modern design. There is a great private room that I will keep in mind for future events. Great experience overall.
My husband and I travel from Queens to dine here. While NYC area has a plethora of French dining options, none of them come close to the quality of service and overall experience at Brassiere 292. The waiters are extremely knowledgeable and their service is extraordinary. Along with the staff’s fine service, the atmosphere is also both charming and artistic. Most importantly, the food is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Brassiere 292 for the ultimate French dining experience.
Love the food
Service was fine, food was good, not the best. At least whay we had ordered. The place itself looks like a 50's icecream soda shop. No ambiance at all. For a menu of that caliber you need a certain decor. Also in a big fan of sangria, they had none at all!! Won't be back anytime soon.
Nice tradition French cuisine.
We chose the restaurant week menu . Appetizers foie gras parfait - very good and pei mussels. Also excellent. For the Main course my son and I had kangaroo medallions and my wife had Cassoulet all was delicious.
Excellent cassoulet!
The service and the food were spectacular. We would definitely go back there again. For lunch the three-course meal is perfect. Great options and it makes it easy to order while having a conversation
It's true, the french onion soup was delicious and the pot au chocolat was very good! A nice surprise in Poughkeepsie.
Wonderful experience overtime we dine here. So welcoming and perfect.
We truly enjoyed our meal at Brassiere 292. The soup with Gruyere cheese was excellent; entree was a hanger type steak with vegetables both cooked to perfection. We both selected creme brulee for dessert and we were left wanting to order another one..it was that good.
Our attendant was professional, timely and attentive.
Excellent food, lots of flavor, good portion size, if you are like me and you like to eat.
Awesome place and food
Great meal, great people! Loved the food and the ambiance.
We have always had great service and good food here. The restaurant week salad was great- the dressing delicious! The swordfish entree was also great- moist and flavorful. The desserts were disappointing though- bland and uninteresting. A disappointing end to a good meal.
The food was AMAZING. We could not have had a more perfect meal. Our young waiter was fantastic.
It was fantastic. We went there on a date night because our son was at grandma’s. It lived up to every expectation. The food was fantastic the drinks were delightful and the service was extraordinary we would definitely go back again.
We ate well and were well looked after by the staff, all of this on a slow Thursday evening during Restaurant Week. Two of us took advantage of the prix fixe menu for RW and two others ordered from the menu. We all ate well and enjoyed the atmosphere. Wine list is solid and at decent prices. All good.
The first night after a bad nor'easter, the diners were a mixture of people with cabin fever, pre-show Bardavon enthusiasts, and regulars like us. The energy was delightful and the aromas of the various dishes enticing. The bouillabaise tasted like the Riviera - rich and with a little kick of spice - and the butcher's steak medium rare was cooked to perfection. Great wines to pair. Attentive staff even with the pre-show rush. Fabulous evening.
We absolutely LOVE dining here! From the minute you walk in to the moment you leave, you are treated to a wonderful dining experience. Try the fried oysters-they are Delightful! Great cocktails and wine! The Entrees never disappoint. Scrumptious desserts! You will love your meal!
Outstanding as usual!
It all works together, the food is great, the service is great and the ambiance and decor is just lovely.
Had a great meal here the other night, with my husband and son home from college. We all ordered steak and were impressed with how good they all were. All cooked to perfection, great cuts and amazing sauces. We think Brasserie 292 can match up to our favorite steak house, maybe even better due to the sauce options. We can't wait to go again!!
Our food and the staff were fantastic. I had the Acorn Squash entree and loved every bite. The Kobe burger and Butcher steak were equally enjoyed by my companions.
We had a great time. Food was excellent and fantastic service. Recommended.
Great food and service
Fabulous restaurant! Absolutely at the top of our favorites list. Had a great evening for Valentines day. Food and service could not have been better. Michael, the maitre de, was attentive, approachable and caring. You're likely to get good service from anyone, but if you want the best ask for Angel.
Food, service and ambience were great! It was our first time there. The only disappointment was we were seated at a table with two uncomfortable chairs. They are fairly small and not well suited for a full dinner. Better suited for a cup of coffee or drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
There are tables with booth seating on one side and chair on the other and some full booths. I highly recommend insisting on a full booth for dining.
Anthony was our server and he was great. Very attentive. We ordered several apps (oysters, lobster bisque , escargot, and all were good, except grilled octopus which was too charred and over cooked. We’ve eaten here several times. Always a treat
Brunch was really good. nice, spicy bloody Mary's. I had the steak sandwich special. very tasty, only I think they should cut the steak up so you don't get the whole piece of meat in one bite. Shrimp and oysters for $ 1.50 each was a nice treat!
My friends raved about the special appetizer salad, the trout and pork. We all enjoyed the bottles of wine we ordered very much, although it was a bit higher priced than we would usually get. I was hoping for spectacular mussels, and they were good but could have been More flavorful. The quality of everything was very high. I’ll be back soon, but will order differently.
The menu is creative and impressive. The tuna tartare was strange and not good. It was served with potato chips which was also strange and not good. However, coq au vin had very good flavor but too many potatos. Service was excellent.
We have been here a number of times for dinner and just recently discover brunch! And what a wonderful discover!
