The food was pretty good but service was crazy slow. I think it took about 20 minutes to get our wine and almost an hour to get our appetizers, and that was after asking the waiter both times what was talking so long. The food wasn’t good enough to justify such a long wait but maybe it was just an off night in the kitchen.

I booked dinner for our 27th anniversary and noted that on the reservation. When they called to confirm they asked again if it was for a special occasion and again I said it was for an anniversary and he said he would note that in the reservation. When we walked in promptly at 6:15 there were several empty tables that had booth seating. When I asked if it was possible to sit at one, I was met with the death stare of the hostess and a flat cold NO. Totally off putting as was the smell of fish.

Despite making reservations and restaurant had plenty of available tables in the main dining room, we were seated in an annex. When I asked if we could move, hostess said no. When leaving dinner, noticed the dining room was literally empty. The sardines were simply tinned and of mediocre quality. The lamb and steak were delicious. Salad and charcuterie were very tasty. Service was attentive and polite.

Decor is tastefully retrospective with subway tiled walls bespoke with large mirrors, comfortable and private booth seating, down to the early 20th century overhead lighting embellishments: Think Gertrude Stein and “Lost Generation” friends on an evening out post-WWI. Food is Paris/Lyon wonderfully prepared, presented, plentiful, and the menu is so quite brasserie eclectic! Definitely do the escargots! Indulge yourself at this lovely establishment at a surprisingly accommodating price. A gem of an establishment, Brasserie 292 is a must do! Bon appetit!!

This place made date night spectacular. I wanted my fiance to feel appreciated and loved. The waiter Greyson es so knowledgeable and attentive. The bartender remembered us from last time.
