Brasserie 19 Ratings and Reviews
The ambiance and staff were good. The food was delicious. I would suggest to those have not had French cuisine is to be prepared to have something unsusal and be adventurous. However, they do have options of other comfort food that people will be familiar with. Do ask your server if you are uncertain about the menu. Overall, 3.9 out of 5.
Our second time here. This was a festive Halloween evening and the costumes of the staff as well as the patrons were really cool. We dined early--5:00 before the opera, and had a great time. Two or three of us had the Trout Amandine--great. The fourth person had lamb chops which he loved. We had no time for dessert. We had a nice Russian River Pinor Noir I beleve which was very good.
My guest and I had the Trout Almondine with a bottle of Veuve. Perfection as always. I love this place, I have never been disappointed, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The space is bright, airy and welcoming. I have sat at the bar on several occasions, always a treat chatting to the friendly barkeeps! Highly recommend this restaurant
We went here for my Girlfriends 42nd birthday. The ambiance was quite entertaining, but not what we were looking for a date night. If you are an over 50 rich white guy, this is obviously the place to source yourself some younger females. And if you are young single female looking for rich white guys, this is your place, ladies! My girlfriend and I already planned out the occasion that if we break up in 15 years, I’ll definitely be back here for a hook up adventure although I do hope I won’t run into her on the same night! :)
I went here for my birthday and had a wonderful time. The place was cute and the food was EXCELLENT! My only complaint it that the tables are too crowded on the floor. There is barely room for you to sit and I was constantly have to scoot up and being bumped into the whole time, which made me feel silly. Otherwise it is a great spot!!!!
We went here for a date, the menu was pretty good with some pricier options but very similar to other French places. The food was prepared well, though the tartare had a lot of extra ingredients and kind of masked the taste of the meat. Duck was overcooked a bit, but I'll take that as a mix up when I asked for it just under medium, should have been closer to rate, but most places make duck on the chefs prerogative... The crowd was loud and usually much older than us and we are in our 30s. Seating is silly, kind of uncomfortable and overcrowded. Not a place for a date on a busy night, worth the visit for mostly standard fare on the river oaks side but we tend to prefer other French places around Houston with better ambience.
As always love the venue and atmosphere. Great for people watching.
The wines are quality and great value.
Service is good.
We were dissapointed in the seating . We were rather crammed in to a tight space. Trying to fit too many people in I feel. Hence, not feeling like it was a '5 star' experience.
Underwhelming! The wait staff was nice, but there was a 45 minute wait b/ t the first and second courses- and then my main course was cold and had to be reheated. Margaritas were not great. It was very expensive for our dining experience Sorry to see this-!Bra 19 has gone down some...
Good food, great service, excellent value for the price/meal. We were a party of 9 for HRW and appreciated the quieter seating area on the far side of the bar, in the back. They provided separate checks -which is always appreciated. We all ageed it was a "5 star" evening at B-19.
Extremely great customer service. I have been to Brasserie 19 several times and have always been pleased with the entire experience. I love their outdoor seating as well as the dining room. Mimosas are fabulous. Great food selection. Cotton Candy dessert is a fun offering.
The food is always amazing. However, my recent experience with the service was sub-par.
I have never felt so judged by a waiter in my life. We had decided on a low budget to purchase a bottle of wine (we can afford more, but we always are up for finding a decent wine that is budget friendly for everyone). We asked him for his opinion and recommendations. He proceeded to tell us they only have one "two buck chuck bottle for those who can't afford quality wine."
He was extremely rude the entire meal. I'm disappointed and I hope brasserie 19 trains their employees better. We're not all millionaires, but just because we order a bottle on the cheaper side doesn't make us any less important.
Very enjoyable dining experience. Outdoor seating was casual, but we opted for a table inside. Ducked the first table offered which was adjacent to an exuberant party of young ladies, for a quieter location. Waiter was informed, friendly and attentive. My wife ordered from the HRW menu and I opted for the plat de jour. The only miss was the escargot appetizer which was not as flavorful as I have had. I was impressed by the wine list and that the pricing was very reasonable. I have already recommended to others and will definitely be back.
I was disappointed primarily because of the service (or lack there of). I felt like we were sat in the "oh we'll come check on you when we can" section. Instead of having a waiter serve our general area, our waiter's primary area was in the front and we sat way in the back. He was friendly enough when he came but he was busy with tables at the front that he didn't come by very often. As a result it took a while to order, have our wine brought and our main course was warm at best when it game out. It had good flavor but because it wasn't freshly hot, it was missing something. It seemed like it had been sitting for a while after it was prepared. We received much better service from the woman attending our table than the waiter. Very disappointed because I had been looking forward to having dinner there after having a nice lunch a few weeks back.
My family came to Brasserie 19 for Mother's Day brunch. My mom and my sister came down to visit from the midwest to celebrate. We were all pleased with the ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was excellent. This was really just right for what we were looking for to mark the occasion.
I have frequented this restaurant many times but as I return the dining experience just gets more and more dusappointing. A year ago this restaurant was so worth the money. Service has gone down drastically. Our waitress was horrible and food was mediocre.
