About Brasserie 19

Brasserie 19, located in Houston’s 77019 neighborhood, offers a modern amalgamation of French brasserie fare and well-known American influences. The menu utilizes the freshest seasonal ingredients in thoughtfully prepared dishes. Brasserie 19 boasts an expansive, carefully developed wine list dedicated to pricing just above retail – a philosophy pioneered by owners Charles Clark and Grant Cooper upon opening their first restaurant, Ibiza Food & Wine Bar. Brasserie 19's sophisticated yet unpretentious interiors are bathed in cool greys and whites, with antiqued wood and white marble used throughout. Grey leather banquettes and comfortable chairs are paired with white linen and butcher paper-covered tables create a casually elegant setting for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch. Very average meal and inattentive service. The mahi special entree seemed uninspired and lacked any appealing presentation I’d typically expect from an upscale restaurant. The decor is dated and the restaurant could use a modern update while keeping the European vibe. The least appealing thing is the tablet they give you to look at the cocktail list. It seemed like something you’d get at a chain restaurant. The Part and Parcel cocktail was good though. The tiny baguette was certainly smaller than anything I’d seen in France.

Overall not very impressed with the quality or value. The pear cobbler lacked flavor.

This place has a fun, enegetic atmosphere with the best of classic French bistro dishes. You can't go wrong here.

I was so looking forward to going for our Friend Christmas Luncheon. But sadly our waiter changed that feeling. We were definitely treated ambivalently. There was no enthusiasm, professionalism, and care taken in his job. We watched the other waiters and wondered how we were lucky enough to get the slowest person on the staff who obviously didn't care about our pleasure during our visit. His clothing and appearance confirmed our displeasure in our service. Our food was good but the wine list is the STAR here at this restaurant.

3 went for lunch.

My guests had sandwiches and I had salads Nicosia...all were excellent, my salad particularly fresh. We also had dessert and coffee, also excellent. Our waiter talked a little too much but his service was good.

Fantastic food! Everything we had was awesome. Worst thing about dinner was that we had no room for dessert - next time :-)

This is one of my favorite places to dine. It is a city hot spot with great food and very reasonable wine prices. The wait staff is knowledge about the menu and very friendly.

I went with my dad's family and we had a 1 year old. The staff was very friendly and catered to our needs. No one complained about a child (she was loud at times). This is one of my favorite brunch restaurants and will continue to be.

This well located bistro has some interesting items on the menu. Some of the dishes were better than others, but overall competently executed. There are other places in Houston with better value, though.

Food was generally good around the table but they didn’t serve the foie gras duo well they left the cold terrine under the heat which completely ruins the experience

The day after Thanksgiving, I took my family for what was supposed to be a post holiday treat and was disappointed by this dining experience on every level. We where given a table right next to the waiters work station and next to a high traffic hallway even though there were other large tables available (we were a party of 5). My mother’s chair was being bumped into throughout the meal. The appetizers were Mediocre and very expensive considering how unimpressive they were and the entrees were ice cold when they came out and some were barely etable. The service was rushed (despite the cold food!) and we got the sense that they just wanted us out as quickly as possible. A very unpleasant evening.

Deep fried brie really had no taste other than the apple glaze

Mussels were over cooked and dry, and just loaded with garlic

Rossini steak was actually very good.

The ambiance and staff were good. The food was delicious. I would suggest to those have not had French cuisine is to be prepared to have something unsusal and be adventurous. However, they do have options of other comfort food that people will be familiar with. Do ask your server if you are uncertain about the menu. Overall, 3.9 out of 5.

Our second time here. This was a festive Halloween evening and the costumes of the staff as well as the patrons were really cool. We dined early--5:00 before the opera, and had a great time. Two or three of us had the Trout Amandine--great. The fourth person had lamb chops which he loved. We had no time for dessert. We had a nice Russian River Pinor Noir I beleve which was very good.

The space is bright, airy and welcoming. I have sat at the bar on several occasions, always a treat chatting to the friendly barkeeps! Highly recommend this restaurant

As the name implies, the food is French, but the ambience is pure Houston. The brunch selections were a compilations of brunch standards and bistro standard, with some items that are unique to Brasserie 19.

We went here for my Girlfriends 42nd birthday. The ambiance was quite entertaining, but not what we were looking for a date night. If you are an over 50 rich white guy, this is obviously the place to source yourself some younger females. And if you are young single female looking for rich white guys, this is your place, ladies! My girlfriend and I already planned out the occasion that if we break up in 15 years, I’ll definitely be back here for a hook up adventure although I do hope I won’t run into her on the same night! :)

I went here for my birthday and had a wonderful time. The place was cute and the food was EXCELLENT! My only complaint it that the tables are too crowded on the floor. There is barely room for you to sit and I was constantly have to scoot up and being bumped into the whole time, which made me feel silly. Otherwise it is a great spot!!!!
