Wonderful evening. Our server was excellent as was the dinner.
Mussels and steak tartare were both solid. Duck is pretty good when ordered medium rare. Filet was cooked perfectly but could use a tad more salt/pepper.
Very good dining, but as normal the wines are quite over-priced. Some are near three times retail, and a restaurant usually gets a 20% discount from that, so it really is poor taste to mark up the wines that much.
Brett was wonderful at accommodating our Saturday brunch needs.
The food was wonderful and our waiter was beyond that of other restaurants. The atmosphere was relaxed but elegant. I came to Houston for a State Conference and this restaurant was highly recommend for businesses to meet at for quiet meetings and known for its Spirits. I have to agree. The staff were all very friendly and not Script. I will be back in Houston soon for business purposes and would like to return with my associates for lunch or early dinner. Thank your staff for being so kind.
The food and service was great as usual. I was there with friends, celebrating a special occasion. They seated next to a table with a 2 yr old and a 1 yr old. They were gone within 30 minutes, but not the atmosphere they are known for providing.
Deviled eggs are great! Maybe the best in town!
Always a great experience at B19.
varied menu, and everything is excellent. Great wine list and cocktails.
Consistently delicious food and great service. B19 is still one of my favorites in Houston. Nice seafood entree & appetizer choices. Octopus is the best in Houston!
Every time I come to Brasserie 19 I know I'm going to have a high quality meal. I have hosted several business meetings here and I'm always pleased with how we are treated.
My next event is planned for later this month. THANK YOU!
Went for lunch with a girlfriend. Food was fresh and very good. We had fish and chips -excellent fish, very fluffy and not as greasy as in other places- and the seafood salad -good as well but could use more flavors and additional ingredients as not really filling. The chocolate lava cake served with ice cream is excellent. Our waiter was very attentive -even though a tad too chatty. A bit pricey but good food and nice atmosphere/decor. Will likely go back.
My husband and i have been to Brasserie 19 before, but this time was extremely awesome. Jessie was amazing. He was friendly and talked to us, but also let us enjoy our time together. The food was great- oysters, tartare, halibut, bone marrow and grand mariner crepes. The wine is such a good deal here!!! This is a must for any date night!
Ordered our usual petit plateau and steak frites. Service was very slow even though restaurant was not really busy. We enjoy the vibe and overall food quality. When the weather allows for pleasant outdoor dining, this is one of our favorites.
Food was great. Kids running around, sitting in the windows and crawling around our chairs ruined the evening. This is not the place to go for a relaxing evening dinner
Group next to us were annoyingly loud and rowdy. Not the restaurant’s fault of course.
Darcy, our server, was very accommodating and everything was had was delicious!
Great food and service. Nice location but a little on the expensive side (about $40-45 per person without dessert).
I've been to "B19" many times and I've finally built up the courage to write a review! I've heard through grapevine that one of the main chefs left B19 to go to A'Bouzy so I wanted to try it again after I heard the news.
Let me start off by saying I came here for brunch and the food is still just as good and the service well it's decent. They are attentive but then they can get pretty busy so they'll just peep here and there. I've never had an awful waiter/waitress here yet and I've been here numerous times.
Parking: You can either valet or park yourself. There's plenty of room if you come early and if not the valet is complimentary and you just tip the valet driver at the end.
Drinks: Me and my friends all got grapefruit mimosas! Basic mimosa so I'd give it a 4/5.
Outside patio: Open seating so it's first come and first serve. They do allow dogs outside in the patio so if you want to bring your pal friend along please do. You'll probably be the highlight of the patio.
Back to what matters: Food
Appetizer: Escargot (4.5/5)
The toast is small for the platter and it was hard this time. Other times it has been fine but this time it was like I bit into a rock! I suggest you eat the Escargot with the bread they provide on the table. It's MUCH softer and I think it even tastes better cause it soaks up all the juice.
Egg Benedict (4/5): I did NOT get the Canadian bacon that comes with it so I apologize my fellow yelpers to let y'all down. I did substitute it with crab meat because I do NOT eat pork and might I add this substitution is a phenomenal add!! It tasted amazing! If you want your yolk runny I suggest you break your egg kinda rapid so you can enjoy the moist-like yolk because if you wait too long it'll dry up. I made that mistake.. oops
Fried egg sandwich- I can't rate this because I didn't try it!
Garden Omelette-I can't rate this because I didn't try it!
Cute brunch place! I suggest sit outside if it feels nice! Come try it!
Phenomenal quality food and service!
Decent enough, large group of women lawyers near us using loud profanity detracted from experience.
Birthday cotton candy with sparkler is the best
The carpet smells a little dingy and the entire restaurant could stand to get a good deep cleaning.
Overall very solid, Beef tartare is not spectacular but solid. Ditto for the mussels.
Escargot also very good.
Not a place for a vegetarian. Certainly not a place for a vegan. There are too few choices. And I knew that going in, but thought I'd have a glass of wine, a salad and some bread and cheese. Not a fan of bitter leaves, I planned to order the house salad. They've changed it, now, to include bitter leaves. In my mind, a bad move for the restaurant: They already have a bitter leaf salad (Frisee), and now you cannot escape bitter leaves, which not everyone likes. So I only ate about 2/3s of my salad, and was still hungry afterwards. Our lovely waiter reminded me of the Sunday night beet dish that is very wonderful, but you have to be there on Sunday, and this was Saturday. I never order the unimaginative (totally boring ) and gummy vegetarian risotto; so that was not an option for me. Our table was alongside a long, long, long banquette and very dreary. There was very loud techno music blaring out of a speaker right over us, and even in spite of all the white walls and furniture, the dining atmosphere in that part of the restaurant felt drab, dark and very dreary. (Lousy atmosphere at night in that particular spot.) In my opinion, the food is bad (my husband didn't enjoy his oysters; said they were too greasy) and the atmosphere in parts of the restaurant is terrible. I think the whole endeavor cost more than $100: A salad, some oysters, 2 rolls, a piece of cheese, a beer and a glass of wine. So, not a great value.
Brasserie 19 is one of Houston's classiest restaurants and never disappoints. It has held its own despite competition from the likes of Steak 48 and Mastro's.
I really don’t know what to say when open table sends me this survey asking me, “how was B19?”
It was fabulous. How else would it be. It was fabulous yesterday and last year and it will be fabulous tomorrow and the next day and the day after that.
If you haven’t been, go and you’ll know. If you disagree with my evaluation, double check to see if we are talking about the same place or you just have No taste. 😘🍷🍾💕
Brasserie 19 is definitely a hot spot - people watching is like catching a glimpse of Houston socialites. The Veuve and oyster party for St. Patrick’s Day was fun and festive and the food was excellent. A great place for lunch or brunch and a bottle of champagne. Indoor/outdoor seating - both have a fun ambience.
Trout almondine was a little oily. Kale salad and baked Brie were excellent!
Celebrated my 34th birthday and everything was delightful! Great staff, great atmosphere! Brunch was delicious!
Enjoyed recent visit for dinner. Waiter understood our pace of ordering and did a good job coming around appropriately. Service, drinks and food were very good.
We had great food and great service!
Went for lunch and everything was good as expected
Professional service and the best part was the weather and patio.
Eggs Benedict & fish & chips were very good. Lots of food & a reasonable price. The Grand Mariner crepe was outstanding!! Brian was our waiter & he was excellent. We’ll be back soon for Monday prime rib night. 👨🍳
Our experience was one with mixed feelings. It was extremely busy during our visit which may be the reason for the long wait times for all service (drinks/bread/apps/main course). We didn’t receive bread until about an hour into the reservation. Our waitress was friendly but not personable (didn’t do much talking when she made it back to our table). The food was good, not great - I’d ultimately eat here again, maybe at a less popular time.
Great for a ladies celebratory luncheon. Complete with cotton candy tower with candle sparklers. Food was delicious as always.
So much fun! Excellent food and service.
B19 never disappoints! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston.
I love coming to this resturant because the service is outstanding and the food is amazing! Also the people watching is the best!
