Unfortunately, the quality has slipped drastically. The brunch, which was one of the best in the city, has become overpriced, while the quality has been cut. I wrote to the restaurant to let them know of my experience, in a very honest way, and, did not want to post a negative review, however, having not received a reply (in a week), I guess they no longer care about their food, nor their clients. There are way better options at lower prices.
Arrival was warm and service prompt. Assistance with wine selection was very good and successful. We had 2 mains: a scallop dish and a tenderloin, and both were delicious. Ambiance is warm.
Went out with friend we hadn't seen in a long while and had an amazing time. Sadly had to leave before it turned into a club. Hope to come back again.
The best part of Brassaii is the nightclub. Music is great but the dinner isn't so good and expensive for what you get. We got there at 8:15 pm and only ate around 10:30 pm and we barely saw our server. the lights were going off the chairs were being moved so pretty much we were eating around people dancing. I would never eat there again.
Food was ok. Service was adequate. Server was a smoker and it was obvious he finished having a cigarette as he reaked like smoke when he was asking for the drinks. Never came by to ask how the food was.
Went to try their WINTERLICIOUS menu and from start to finish the food and service was fantastic...had the crab bisque soup..followed by short ribs and finished with some chocolate dessert. The waitress was great and clearly enjoyed her job...we will definetly be back.
Went for winterlicious. The menu had a breath of options, although not depth (eg. Only one beef option, one fish option, one vegetarian option). I guess this is because they are trying to cater to the majority.
The food was GREAT! Service was fantastic.
Went here to try their Winterlicious menu. We had the beet salad and pork belly appetizers and for the main course we ordered the beef short ribs and duck. All the meat dishes were cooked to perfection. To finish off our meal we had the coconut sponge cake and apple crumble. Every dish was very tasty from start to finish! Our server Boris was very attentive and professional. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend!
Visited with girlfriends to celebrate a birthday and try out the wknterlicious menu. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He even swapped out our appetizer (crab bisque) when we said we weren’t happy with it. Great vibe and lots of fun for dancing after dinner on a Friday night!
Our server was excellent . On point with meals and drinks!! My friend went for a ribs which looked and tasted absolutely amazing ..!!It's a really nice ambience with dark lighting some elevator music and friendly staff. Would defintly go back. !!
Suggestion: there is a bar at the back and on Saturday it's almost like a club ..its a nice place to have dinner and some drinks after if you into the club scene !!
We loved our waiter, he was the best and he made sure we were happy with our food and drinks!
The food was good and the ambiance was great but our server was not. We were a group of 5 and there were multiple times that we had to ask for the same items and instead of apologizing for forgetting them he just pretended like he knew and it was just taking longer. He brought out the wrong dish but never apologized for it. The manager did come over knowing that everyone else had there meals but i did not. She brought over a round of prosecco which was nice but our server never even acknowledged his mistake. When my bill came it even had the wrong item on it which is how i know it was the server that put it in wrong. Mistakes happen all the time and the prosecco was a nice touch but the server has a poor attitude the least you can do is apologize if something goes wrong.
This tall white male server who is bald was very very rude and condescending. Everything else was great.
The food and service was amazing! I loved the experience at this restaurant! The Winterlicious menu was a perfect amount and dishes were delicious. We had a fun server who showed us photos of the menu to help us choose the items.
Service was terrible, our waiter was rude and impatient.
great service! the fried chicken sandwich was good, and for "create your own master piece", waffles, sundae, yogurt, with our own choices, every piece is a creation.would definitely come again
The food was bland and disappointing. The staff was excellent in their care of that.
Won’t be coming back for dinner.
This restaurant smells like a bar. Looks like a bar but boasts a brunch- did not enjoy food , omelette over cooked and portions left us hungry. Will not be back
So happy they are open for lunch again! I missed having this option, great for biz lunches...service always extraordinary and the sea bream extraordinary....what I really want to know is the secret to the smoky flavour in the beet salad...extraordinary and nice to have/see creativity done so well in a salad!!!
Really great service from the moment I entered the place, I would definitely recommend
The staff are phenomenal, the food delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful from the lighting to the set up. definitely a spot ill keep coming back to and will recommend across the board. Great job guys! Best birthday dinner by far!
Brassaii is one of the best places of Toronto! Good food, good service, and awesome environment. I definitely recommend.
Total crap, waited two hours, food never came and we left
First time trying Brassaii wish I been here before, the food was great, best lamb I have had in a while. The service was great from the hostess till the final bill. I will definitely try here for their brunch
Cool place to hang out with friends - turns into a bar at night. Food looked great but was underwhelming and bland. Octopus comes out as a whole arm and was not appetizing to look at. Come for the ambiance/drinks not food (although cocktails are expensive at $18).
A must go to when in Toronto! Staff is amazing especially John and Sandra. The decor and ambiance was incredible! Food was delish, too. Will be coming back on our next visit.
Excellent food and service. The wine list is for the cost...just ok. An example, a reisling that sells at the LCBO for $20.00 is sold at the restaurant for $65.00.
I’ve been to Brassaii before for dinner (and it was lovely), but this was my first time for brunch. I’m sure the food would’ve been lovely if they had what they claimed they did. I kept asking for toppings (ex: chocolate sauce) and they were out of it, and my friend was excited to eat their cinnamon bun, but they were also out of it. We wanted a juice on their brunch menu (tey have 2 options), but they were out of that, too. At one point we laughed bc they were out of everything.
This was my second time at Brassaii. I loved it the first time and chose it for my partner's birthday. Everything was great - the service (from the moment we arrived), the food - all our choices were delicious, it satisfied teenagers and adults alike, and the atmosphere is cool and hip. A great spot for any occasion! P.s. Must have the fries!
We had a reservation for my boyfriends birthday for four people. We arrived five minutes late, but were sat at a table within a couple of minutes of arriving. Once we sat, a server came over quickly with menus and took drink orders. When he returned we all ordered. An hour passed and we had not been served our food. I inquired about what the delay was with the server and told him that I too have served and it should not be taking me inquiring with him to find out what’s wrong. Delays that long are caused by kitchen error, or a server not entering an order once received. He touched my arm and sarcastically said, “oh, you’re going to teach me about how to serve now?!” I firmly told him a few times not to touch me. He left the table and came back to say it would be a minute more. It was nearly ten more minutes and then our food arrived. The food was tasty but not worth the wait.
I have to say was so disappointed.. came from Chatham for TIFF and Brassaii was the hotspot as they were hosting the Hollywood Reporter from there. First we were seated for a 1230 reservation , bit of time went by, our drink order was taken and then it is like they forgot us. Not that our waiter was not friendly and nice, just seemed a bit clueless on the fact that we were there for lunch. First the hostess came and took our menus for no reason, must have assumed we ordered, after I dont know 20 minutes we had to tell the fellow cleaning tables to tell waiter we had to order food as we had a premiere to attend. So he comes and we order just a cobb salad and hamburger, I mean how long should that take.. We had no food in front of us until 1:40, we arrived at 12:30 and then we had to keep getting his attention to see what was up. We noticed food sitting up on the kitchen area where the waiters pick up and deliver for at least 15 mins. This is not acceptable at any restaurant let alone a nicer one. When we did get food, it was good, no complaints, but we cannot recommend nor will we return during our yearly venture to TIFF. You only get one chance to make a first impression and unfortunately it was a bad one for us, sorry. We went to five other well known TIFF spots and the service was amazing. Brassaii was not even very busy when we were there, seemed most doing your brunch.. you should talk to your wait staff as the couple next to us started to talk and said the same thing, so ridiculous the wait was on their food!!!!
So very disappointed. Service was poor from start to finish. I gave my name to three different people before finally being seated--everyone looked so confused! Perhaps they were starstruck from the TIFF celebrities who had been there, but why encourage people to visit during TIFF when you can't provide them with proper service? I ate my yogurt parfait with a fork as no one came by for me to inform them that I did not have a spoon. I felt sorry for our server who was clearly overwhelmed serving the whole patio by herself--not her fault that Brassaii did not provide sufficient servers, given that it was during TIFF. We were there for about 2-1/2 hours, most of it spent waiting for service. Upon leaving, we happened to get up just as Ellen Page was also leaving her press event. I was unaware that she was behind us and the security/staff, who were facing me, were blocking me so I had to squeeze between them while excusing myself. My apologies for not being a celebrity--just a lowly OpenTable diner! Horrible experience--will never go back.
The food could use more flavour and less costly
Overall a great experience.. Just a bit rushed for a late dinner. Friendly & helpful staff. A little bit on the pricy side for food & drinks.
Not my first trip to Brassaii and definitely not my last. Lovely ambience. Table Service very good. Best beef tartare I've had. Would recommend.
As always- a wonderful dining experience in the city..... Food was excellent. Wine pairings were great. Beautiful outdoor dining in the summer months.
Really enjoyed our dining experience the service was top notch!! It was our first time there and will say we will definitely be returning!! Love that part of the establishment turns into a nightclub and I would say the crowd is 25 plus. Great music and ambience!
Had a delicious meal here and servers couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful with my mom, who's handicapped. Definitely recommended!
Pretentious French cuisine. Starter was nice. Didn't like main course (which was anything but French). Wine list limited but offers some gems. All in all place is way overrated and way overpriced. Place may be nice for some friends to get together and have a night out. If you are seeking a fine dining experience - look elsewhere.
Food wise- not a win situation. I would have to say service at bar and night life brought up its over all value.
