Brassaii Ratings and Reviews
My wife & I have been to Brassaii before, and booked it for a business dinner with 6 people. When we arrived with 7, the staff easily adjusted without complaint. It took approx 40 minutes for everyone to arrive and again the staff accommodated us, keep drinks & appetizers fresh while we talked. We shared appetizers & each ordered a main. Recommendations from the staff were great. I had the filet and it was prepared exactly as I ordered (true medium rare, which usually comes medium) and well presented. Everyone said their main was good.
Overall, a great venue for the group of 7.
This is a beautiful space but if you're over 30 you'll feel like a grandma. Also, we ordered the risotto and it was super undercooked. My friend complained about hers and was met with the manager telling her that's how it was supposed to be (he was wrong...it should have some bite to it but this was still hard rice). Overall nice place but we won't be returning.
Considering it was TIFF and they were occupying he space to do interviews, we were told to be quiet several times, as other customers were too. This was no reflection on the restaurant, but if they were doing an event or closed areas, they shouldn't really close the entire place to the public.
The food was horrible:( and the service really was not that great. It just seemed like everyone who worked there wanted to go home -minus the photographer, he was nice. But even our server was just not that interested or friendly. I feel like with the amount that you pay, it is just not worth it.
Service was very good. Our waiter was very polite and accommodating. We were seated in one of the cabanas although we did make reservations, it wouldn't be my first choice for seating. The swing seating and table setting wasn't really meant for dining.
We had oysters to start and although they were market fresh, they were a little bit on the small side, but I'm noticing this as a trend lately. The accouterments that came with the oysters were excellent in particular the sweet salsa.
Ordered the scallops for my date and tenderloin for myself. Scallops Espresso were delicious but the tenderloin was over cooked; I had asked for medium rare and it came out medium well. I didn't send it back but perhaps I should have. It did not deter me from finishing it.
All in all, I would go back but insist on table seating (if on the patio). The interior seemed nice but not busy on this day (post dinner bathroom visit before leaving). Great ambiance for a romantic first date, but this was our fifth.
Food was terrible. Bland and tasteless. When we asked our waiter for recommendations he said he had no idea what dishes were good or how they taste because he serves the food he doesn't eat it....
Bathrooms were disgusting. Non of rhe rollers were flushed. Paper on the floors.
Needless to say won't be going back.
The service was not good - we had to wait for a long time for anything. Especially the end of the evening - we waited for 45 minutes for a check and sat at the table with no drinks no water no food no nothing and everybody just walked right by us. The service really put a damper on the rest of the evening. The food was not as great as I expected but it was and unfortunately the and unfortunately the restrooms were still disgusting that the other two of us wouldn't even go in. and unfortunately the restrooms were so disgusting that the other two of us wouldn't even go in..
The food and atmosphere was very nice.
One the staff members I believe the manger gave me a birthday drink on the house
Unfortunately our waitress was very cold and slow. I had to go up to bar to change a martini that was ordered dirty and wasn't dirty. I have try find her for the bill she didn't come over frequently.
The hostess was very friendly and helpful and took photos for us
Overall we had a good time and the food was great
Food excellent, service efficient although not very personable and slow at topping water up. Whilst clearly a lively bar, as a dining experience, the lights are too low, such that many guests were using iPhone torches to read the menu, and the music kept being cranked up so conversation over dinner was getting difficult.
So great I am going back again!
If you want to dress up---I mean really dress up nice with friends and/or your partner--this is it. And everyone is dressed up! I've tried other venues and just always come back to this one. Absolute best spot on King Street!
Dinner, dancing, energetic!
I wish they would buy the space next door and make Brassaii bigger!
very horrible customer service from the waiter...he was rude and mannerly and very unfriendly. My friends and family was not impressed. The food is always good and we had nice servers in the past but this guy was nasty with his attitude. No one tipped him I still felt bad and left him $10 but he did not deserve a penny.
It was 30 degrees outside and few people were seated inside when I arrived. I asked to not be seated on the patio and they said inside seats were reserved. I also had a reservation and requested inside, the girl kept arguing with me, saying there were not tables for 4, even after I saw two.
Food was disgusting. It was a pre-fixed menu. Salad was warm and breakfast burrito was worse than a McDonald's meal. Egg mushroom beans and cheese thrown together.
Waiter screwed up our bill three times.
- Nice venue
- Beautiful Patio
- Great location for people watching
- Crispy ribs were tasty
- Popcorn chicken was waaaay overcooked and tasted like a gummy eraser
- Service was unmotivated and disconnected
Overall a meh for dinner which seems dangerous considering all the excellent options around that area. Just walking across the street to Patria would be a good idea.
My husband and I were out for date night. It was our first time at Brassaii and we have already set a date to go back with friends. The food was great, service was good, fun/energetic atmosphere and the Margherita's were perfect!! Looking forward to returning.
Crispy ribs were a very generous portion - meat was tender, breading was a bit like Kentucky fried chicken Sides of mushrooms were soggy, Brussels sprouts were good, fries were overdone (dipping aioli had too much mayo). Steak was done perfectly, pasta was also good. Expect to pay about $120 per person including a couple of drinks, tax and tip. Place packs up as the night progresses, but there are lots of places, so a decent spot to grab a bit prior to going out in King West.
