Brasa Churrascaria and Brewpub Ratings and Reviews
We ordered one of everything on the happy hour menu. Stick to the Brazilian food, the burgers were eh, but all the traditional Brazilian food was amazing. Definitely coming back. The service was great and prompt and loved the live music outside. They were not too loud and could carry a conversation.
This is the second time enjoying the food at Brasa Churrascaria. This time we went for the set menu of BBQ meats. We enjoyed every bit of the meal, the presentation was delightful. Food was so good that you have to be careful not to eat too much as the favors are so good you just want more and more.
I had high hopes for this place, but was very disappointed. The service was moderate. We ordered the 4 meat platter to share. The busser who brought us the food put down the plate and said "here's your meat" with no explanation of which was which. About 5 minutes later when we were half done with the meal he came back and put down a tray and said "here's your sauce" again without an explanation. The pork was so dry, the knife could barely cut the meat. The chicken was moist but flavorless. One cut of beef (not sure which) was beyond well done and very tough. The other beef dish was cooked rare, and was tender but was extremely salty. I probably should have brought the meat home for my dog instead of eating as much as I did. I won't be coming back.
We were almost halfway through with what we gathered at the buffet before they stopped at our table with the first serving of barbequed meat. It seemed like they were showing the pretty young ladies more attention. We didn't see the picanha until the end of the meal. My drink was finished for too long and I had to ask the busser for another. The meat was generally very good but a few portions were tough. The buffet items were mostly blaugh. The black beans were tasty. Overall I was not impressed and probably won't go back.
This is a great place to go just for drinks or for a nice dining experience. The bar area is always fun and lively. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable. The menu has a lot of options so you can find something for everyone. My personal favorite is the feijoada but I am rarely disappointed. Overall this is a nice restaurant with great food. I can't wait for the weather to get nicer so I can hang out on their huge patio.
Granted I went--by myself--on a busy night, but:
In common with another reviewer's experience, it took 20 minutes after being seated before I was given a menu and was able to make any sort of selection. It took over 10 minutes before the glass of wine I ordered arrived.
The only food I was offered was rather sub-par chicken wrapped in bacon. Which it proved awkward to take because I was never given a set of tongs.
I saw other meats being taken to other tables from time to time, but somehow either they were all consumed by others before the server got to me, or the server simply didn't see/ignored my attempts to attract attention.
So, after *an hour* I had received one glass of wine, one piece of chicken wrapped in bacon, and no tongs.
I put payment to cover the drink and such food as I'd received on the table and left. Although the restaurant wasn't particularly busy by this point, no-one seemed to notice.
First time coming here was for our Valentine's dinner and I must say I was very impressed. From the moment we stepped into property, their hostess greeted us with a very warm smile and great attitude. She led us to our table which was set up perfectly! We had our own personalized menu with my name on it, long stem red rose, valentine's balloons and complimentary champagne! Food was excellent with a great assortment of sides. We didn't even have to ask for much. Service was even better! Our waiter and the entire staff was super friendly and very accommodating which made our dine in experience even better! The owner of the establishment went around all the tables and greeted his guests and also made sure everyone had what they needed. I would rate this place a 10 if I could and would recommend this place to anyone.
I checked out this restaurant on a recommendation from a relative. While I don't think I'd return often over my other favorite restaurants, I still feel Brasa is worth experiencing at least once. I went with my wife and we both had their fixed menu on New Years eve which was essentially the Rodizio plus a couple of items. The soup was very good and hearty. I had the spinach salad which had a very light dressing and bleu cheese. It was fairly bland. The chicken and pork offerings they brought to the table were good, but not great and a little dry. Don't be afraid to use the chili oil on the table. So if you don't like your food marinated to death, this might be fore you. The top sirloin and the picanha were both very good and worth the trip. They also brought a variety of side dishes with our meal that included: salad, broccoli and cauliflower (good), okra (very good), black beans (quite plain) and fried polenta and plaintains which were pretty tasty together. It was way too much food for two people, but they gladly boxed the leftover (sides) for us.
Overall, I didn't enjoy the food enough here to slot it above my other favorite restaurants when I decide to go out. But I feel that there's enough different here to warrant at least one trip. If I returned I'd probably stick to the Picanha and Top Sirloin and the sides.
My wife and I took some good friends (a couple) there for a Holiday dinner. The website and local ads seemed promising, however I felt it did not live up to the hype.
1, Room temperature was cold and our table was relatively dark and small.
2. Made reservations which were not needed because the place was pretty much empty. They sat us in the center of a room near the kitchen area, which was busy from waiter and customers whizzing by (very distracting and noisy)
2. We were all required to get individual meat entrees (avg price $10), or the Rodizio (all eight meat offerings $40)- The girls do not have a big appetite, but went for the Rodizio because they wanted us guys to enjoy "the experience". That is a rip-off....since there is no way our wives would eat that much meat.
3. The person serving the meats was not very articulate and was very soft spoken...we had to ask him what he was serving on almost every item....even if he went from one side of the table to the other. (annoying) Part of us asking what things were was because it was so dark.
4. We were brought chicken (which was dry) and sausage numerous times, but the beef rounds were few and far between.
5. The beef servings, when brought, were good!
Overall, Brasa was a disappointment. I would not recommend this restaurant...unless they reduce their prices or offer diners individual entrees and Rodizio at the same table.
Viva Brasa! Subtle and savory flavors, meat prepared just the way we asked, perfect plating, a healthy pour in a glass of wine...all at very reasonable prices. Our vegetarian friends even found tasty bites for themselves. Our server, Autumn, is a true pro, too. We did our best to keep her running on a busy Saturday night, but she did a great job. And when we told her that our group was on its way to a concert, she made checkout super easy. (Thanks, Autumn!) We'll come again, and we'll bring more friends!
My party was seated, given our menus and water. For the next 20min. (yes, I timed it), we were totally ignored. Servers and other employees walked all around us and never greeted us or attempted to take our drink orders. All in our party were done reading the menu and we were all looking up & not once did anyone say anything. Hostess staff was totally clueless as they thanked us for coming on our way out!
Yes it's only $40 whereas most are $70-80 but their selection of meat is terrible (mostly chicken and chicken makes a majority of the rounds) and the non-chicken options are under-seasoned. Take the strip steak for example that comes out looking grey and dull - no caramelization whatsoever, no salt, no flavor. Save your $40 and go visit a real Churrascaria.
The food is wonderful. The all-you-can eat menu (rodizio) is a total delight. I really liked the subtle seasoning and natural flavors. Since I'm on a low sodium diet, I was able to appreciate that the meat dishes were not salted, but were carved right off the rotisserie spit. Some people complain about the lack of sauces and seasoning, but I rate this as a plus. If you are expecting baby-back ribs slathered with barbecue sauce, you're the wrong place. But if you want some of the best sirloin you have ever tasted, as much as you want, this is the place. The Executive Chef came out several times to check on everything, and the wait staff was very attentive.
Be prepared to eat. It is not the menu for dainty or picky eaters. Lots of meats: chicken, pork, beef and more beef. Some vegetables. Many California wines of distinction and a few Argentine and Chilean wines, modestly priced. We were a group of four; would be lots of fun with a group. We'll go back.
The food was excellent. We had the Sirloin with Garlic, okra, chicken with Garlic, rice & beans, mango salad. Oh yeah we had flan for dessert which also excellent. The service was prompt and attentive.
The drinks were also really, really good. No flaws. Great dining experience.
It was my birthday, and I wanted something different and new. Brasa Churrascaria & Brewpub fit the bill perfectly! The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in the door until we left. Our waiter was very helpful in helping us decide what to order, and we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious! We had two small children, and they were made to feel welcome and wanted. We will definitely return.
The Churrascaria experience is one for almost anyone's bucket list. For a carnivore, it is mandatory. I was a little disappointed by the collard greens. I have never had them "al dente" before and unseasoned (no apparent salt or pepper). Not something I'll order again. We were there at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was about 25% full but the noise level was so loud as to be annoying. The bare walls, floor and ceiling causes the smallest sound to bounce around the room. The clattering of silverware and dishes on one end could drown out a conversation on the other. I would recommend some nice Brazilian tapestries for the walls to catch some of the sounds. I can only imagine the din when the room is full.
A noisy but vibrant restaurant. Service uneven but staff were pleasant and helpful. The food, when we finally were able to order, arrived out of sequence and we had to keep asking for the drinks which came last. The small churrasco which we ordered was presented with mixed greens and grilled yucca. The yucca was tasteless. Forget it and order a side of garlic fries with herbs. A traditional churrasco - having lived in Brazil - comes with farofa which was nowhere on the menu.
I have been to Churrasciarias in Rio, Atlanta, Los Vegas, and San Francisco. I loved them all. We were excited for one to finally open in Sonoma County. The food was good. The service was great. Since our group had the back room to ourselves it was quiet. The one thing I missed the most was the buffet style salad/side dish area there had been at the other restaurants. The side dishes brought to the table were just OK. Some of the meats were great but some were just OK and there wasn't the variety I remember at the other places. Brasa is worth a trip if you have never been to a Churrasciaria or even eve you have.
Food was bland and tasteless, all the meat from the rodizio was not seasoned at all and just tasted like cooked meat. The apps were disappointing, little to no flavor and seemed pre bought and frozen. Server was slow, lacked attention to detail, and over all seemed very confused... Almost like he had never done it before. I would not recommend this restraunt, nor will I be back.
We thought we would give this a try and were more that surprised to find such a wonderful food and dining experience. The traditional Brazilian dinner is the perfect choice. If you have two or ten people it has something for everyone. If you do not like something that comes by do not worry something else will be by soon. From New York steak to chicken wings to grill pineapple. Lots of sides and salad. Amazed at the options of such quality that can be had for this price.
If you love eating meat, your gonna get a kick out of this place. Head here for a birthday party or other special occasion, because your bill is going to be on the high side- Talkin' about $250 for four of us, and we weren't "poppin' bottles." The food was great. The service was pretty aweful. I appreciate that maybe there was just a series of unfortunate events, preventing everything from running smoothly, or perhaps I was ACTUALLY speaking Martian. Maybe it was an off night. Point is: I probably wont go back, which is unfortunate, because the food was great. However, I recommend trying it. Maybe it will be an on-night.
Food was delicious, and they really do keep bring the meat, but the atmosphere was pretty low key; a little dark and lacking personality. If you've been to Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil, this place does things a little differently. No salad bar, and the servers, while very attentive to details, don't make quite the dramatic presentation as the other places. That said, the food was absolutely delicious. There wasn't any lamb, and much of the grilled meat is already in small pieces instead of where they slice off from a much larger cut of meat. The side dishes were good, and the fried plantains were definitely the best I've ever had. Would return again with friends, but only occasionally, and it is a lot of food you end up eating.
I've loved Brazilian restaurants for years and now we have a great one in Santa Rosa. If you like wood-fire, slow spit roasted meats you need to give these guys a try. We'll be back again and again. The food was great, the wine list was good but needs to be expanded, this is Sonoma County, service was quick and friendly.
We booked a party of ten late in the day and this was the first experience at Brasa Churrascaria for all of us. It was a great experience. The food was terrific and the wait staff, impeccable, friendly and efficient. I highly recommend for either small intimate party or a large group.
Brasa provided a great dining experience from the attentive service to the delicious food, it was perfect for the couples dinner I had arranged with friends. We especially loved the bacon wrapped chicken and the pork loin with parmesan. My favorite drink was the cherry manhattan - a fabulous pour! Am looking forward to coming back again for happy hour and dinner.
