Branzino restaurant is located in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The quaint restaurant features both a bar area and tables for dining. Dim lighting and dark wood give a cozy, romantic atmosphere perfect for a date night. On a pleasant evening, dine on the patio out in the front of the restaurant. Branzino not only offers a wine list, but allows customers to bring a wine of their choice and only charges a small corkage fee to cork and pour it.
Branzino serves Italian cuisine. The grilled octopus and the beet salad are both popular starter options. Dish choices include such entrees as pappardelle bolognese, mussels and the namesake branzino.
The Arugula salad with Beets and the Prosciutto Olio Pizza were excellent as was the
Prosciutto Olio Pizza we had once before. Maybe the best of all three we have ever had.
Sadly though, When an Italian restaurant at 5pm (opening time) on Tuesday is out of the
main pasta on the menu something is really wrong. This place always seems to be out of various things now including coffee that a friend wanted recently.
Attitude and very minimal service also explains why this 4th. time visit for us will be
Music (modern) was so loud we asked twice to have it turned down.
We think we know why the entire time we were in the restaurant there was only one
other couple who came in to dine.
This used to be a great restaurant and they even offered Lamb at times but something
has gone really wrong .
The pasta my husband and I had had the texture and shape of chewing gum or mochi. It didn't have the shape of pasta at all and very very stretchy. My husband said he almost choked several times. It was so weird. We never had pasta like that. The worst pasta by far. We'll never go there again.
Great restaurant with great service. Love half price bottle wine. Strong recommend for local restaurant.
We had been to this restaurant a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. But this time was very disappointing. We were the only people in the restaurant and several wines were crossed off the list with a felt pen. The salads we ordered were mostly lettuce greens and were very unremarkable. The pasta dish we shared was good but small and overpriced. The restaurant is pretty and cozy, but I wonder if they are closing?
The service was great, the food was delicious, and prices were reasonable. It is not in the heart of Belltown so finding parking wasn't bad at all. I had been wanting to try the restaurant nod will definitely go back.
The service was attentive and fast. Particularly for a speacilty food menu. The food itself was well presented and tasted even better. The wine list was substantial but, not overwhelming and the suggestions were great. It's a wonderful and romantic place for an evening with your sweetheart. It made our Valentines weekend superb!
Went in for the whole fish - their speciality filleted at the table. It was a delicious fish, but way too many very sharp bones to navigate. Menu is pretty limited - same items from a year ago when we were there. We will not be back - will find a new spot to try.
This was my second time there and I was hoping for a better experience. After they completely ruined a special occasion the first time, this time wasn't much better. Again, half their menu wasn't available because 'the order didn't come in.' This must happen a lot there. This time we ended up not ordering dinner and going elsewhere because everything we came there for, yet again, wasn't available. They also have very poor service from the second you walk in the door - no one greats you. Even if you call, it takes forever for them to pick up and when they answer with 'hello?' Not 'thank you for calling Branzinos. This is ...' Or something to that effect. So unprofessional. When I called to change the time of the reservation, the person I talked to didn't even relay the message and they almost gave my table away. It's just one thing after another and we won't be going back and making sure our friends don't waste time or money there. Disappointed.
When we walked in, music was blaring. After two requests it was reduced.
The food was fair but without real significance. No outstanding dishes, lacksidasical staff. Dark décor. Tried three dishes, none of which struck me as special. No suggestions from the waitress. More as if the entire experience was bland.
Great for a romantic night out. Not great if you're on a tight budget and expecting large portions.
It was Saturday evening when I visited there for the first time. It was cozy and dark a bit.
service was kind of slow, and we couldn't get paper napkins until we finished our dishes even though I asked them several times.
Food was good. not salty at all but still very delicious.
And my bill..
I tipped 7 dollars that day, but My bank statement said 10 more dollars had been charged from the restaurant bill... what happen??
I hope it was just a mistake by the restaurant. But they're not answering my call until now.
I believe I might not get back there with this unsolved question..
Over all was the worse night. It took about 45 minutes to bring the first One to us??? It took about 2 hours to we got our main food. The service was awful and food was not good.
She keep bring the wrong food. It was prefix dinner for New Year's but she mange to make that many mistakes.
She bring the dessert and pretend that's what we order. When my husband question that, she said oh we Don't have that anymore . My husband said so when you were going to tell us just being in the different dessert?
When she bring the check my husband ask her to take our desserts. She said we can't because is prefix dinner??
How could be a prefix dinner and not have the items. They did credit the desserts but we will never go back
No ad on limited NYE menu ($60 each). 45 min between 1st and 2nd course. Food was very overpriced.
Went to Branzino looking forward to ordering off the menu, but was surprised to find they had a prix fix menu for $60. Not a bad price, but didn't need all the courses. At least what we were thinking of ordering was on that menu. The food was excellent and we can't wait to go back to order off the regular menu.
I chose this restaurant for a group of 10 on New Year's Eve. We had a 5:30 reservation and had to make an 8:00 show at KeyArena. They had set menu. We didn't get our drinks until 6:20. We didn't get our food until 7:20. Some people in our party didn't get their food until 7:30. We had to leave without our dessert (part of the set menu) because we had to get to the show. Because of the slow service, we missed both opening acts of our show. This was the worst service I have ever had. The server was rude and we were told there was no manager on duty. Two people in our group are servers, so we tend to be a very nice and forgiving group, but this was ridiculous. I will say, the food was good, although I felt so rushed that I didn't really enjoy it.
No coffee during $60 per plate NYE pre fix. Hello this is supposed to be Italian. Slow and overall ehh.
We chose this restaurant because it was downtown and the menu on the website said it had "Winter Risotto". Unfortunately, they did not offer the risotto that evening so I had the Margarita Pizza and a salad which were both excellent! Although we told our server we were having dinner then going to the theatre - service switched to the other person and we ended up taking one of our desserts to go. I was late for the play, but I did drop my companion off so we both wouldn't miss the beginning. They credited dessert, but I would of preferred not being late. This was due to 2 things: 1) 20 minutes passed after dinner was finished before we were asked about dessert and 2) bread pudding takes forever...
I would definitely return for the salad and to try the risotta. The staff was very nice, but I will go back when I can leisurely enjoy my evening and simply dine. The ambiance is lovely and I think it lends itself to a great "date" place.
I recommend BRANZINO and am pleased I tried it out. It's a winner overall.
I was disappointed in the experience as it was there second time I'd been there and half the menu was not available. They were able to substitute the missing pieces of my meal with veggies, which was great- but overall don't think I'll return.
This used to be a neighborhood favorite that I frequented. However, since the management changed a few years, the service has gone down hill. I thought I would give it a try again after a long hiatus hoping things improved. While the food is good, the service was terrible. I shall not return.
Very romantic setting but that's about the only positive. We brought our own wine and when the waitress opened it, she broke the cork in half and so the nice bottle of wine had chunks of cork when we drank it. Our reservation was for 6:00 and they had already run out of halibut and said they were down to one order of branzino. Just a thought...if Branzino is the name of your restaurant, you might want to have enough to last a few hours! My husband and I both ordered beet salads which were nothing to write home about. The pappardelle entree was tasty but the branzino was definitely not worth $34. It was a very small portion and quite bland. With so many great restaurants in Seattle, I definitely won't be back to this one.
This restaurant looks so pretty and romantic and it's so close to our house. The food for Restaurant Week was okay, but probably not worth the price. They were sold out of the desserts we wanted, even though it was the second Sunday of Restaurant Week. To add to our only okay evening, the place was so quiet we could hear our waiter and the host/bartender complaining about how bad their tips would be.
Went to Branzino last Sunday for the first time with a 5PM confirmed reservation. Not open.
No signs of life. No phone answer. Left after 15 minutes standing outside in the rain. Unhappy.
My husband and I ate here during restaurant week so the menu was limited. The restaurant was not crowded. Service was just so so. Cocktail menu was nice and drinks were nice. The grilled octopus was quite tasty as was the pappardelle with Bolognese sauce.
We have eaten here before and food has been good and service much better so this may have just been an off night.
The worst and slowest service l have witnessed. Not worth your time to eat there.
Our servicer was really good at recommending us what to get by our preference, she knows the food well & we were very happy about our order.
Unfortunately, Branzino's fell short of being a really good local gem. It stated with lack of service, just two servers for the entire restaurant with one leaving in the middle of our service. Menu were out of half of its items (i.e. octopus, oysters), which was the reason we selected this place from the start. Food that was available was good (i.e. branzino, meatballs), but with so many other options in the city not sure if this one will make it if it remains as is.
This place is going downhill fast. We learned that it has been sold. All I can say is they have a very limited menu and on the night we were there, they were out of two white wines, three main plates and two desserts. STAY AWAY!!!
We ordered a Margherita pizza, grilled octopus, and gnocchi verde. The octopus was severely overcooked. The dish tasted very cold like it was frozen and barely reheated before bringing out to our table. Very disappointed. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was to die for. So delicious! The pizza was just ok. Nothing special. I would recommend this restaurant for their pasta dishes only. Their portions were relatively small. We ordered three dishes for two people and still left hungry, lol. Service was very slow as well, so give yourself a couple of hours if you plan on coming for dinner.
Branzino is located in an industrial style space with great ambiance and lighting. The food - while excellent in depth of flavor and presentation - lacked portions to justify the $35 entree pricing. Additionally - there was a very long (30-45 minute) wait considering the restaurant had only roughly 6-8 tables occupied. I don't believe the table-side presentation / preparation of the signature Branzino dish was necessary - as the cumbersome/slow technique (of all of the servers) was like a relic of the past in some outdated era. For those of you that haven't had this dish - it's a small and bony fish that is delivered and "de-boned" table-side. I use the term "de-boned" lightly as the fish still had about a dozen sharp ones inside the roughly 4-6 ounces of edible portions.
In a nutshell - the food at Branzino has excellent flavor - but falls short in portion size and speed of preparation. Additionally - this is certainly a restaurant where you feel as thought you're "paying their rent."
Delicious food. We really had a great time and the server was excellent
One thing if you want bread with your meal you better ask because they will never offer it to you. The menu does not seem to change very much and they don't offer any specials which is something would help the limit menu. I have always had good meals but if you want to be treated the way you would expect then look else where.
My husband says that this is the best bolognese he's ever eaten. I thoroughly enjoyed the gnochi verde. The staff is very accommodating in letting you split orders of salads and desserts and bring extra plates and silverware. The meal is leisurely paced. Plan on 90 minutes, if you ordered drinks, salad, entree and dessert.
We planned ahead to go to Branzino and looked forward to lots of varieties of pasta and bread. We instead found very few choices to choose from and got the starter bread as an after thought. If you are a vegetarian, don't look at this Italian restaurant to offer options. No vegges with the main course either. Oh well! Wouldn't return to this one.
I went there specifically to try the Branzino. It was ok. The thing that makes it an elevated dish is that it is filleted table-side. The general apathy of the service--two servers and occasionally the bartender handled the entire restaurant, including host position. I think that it wasn't that they were overworked. I think they just didn't care. I enjoyed my wine, the meatballs, the Brussel Sprouts and my wife really liked her Bucatini Gaberoni. I think the bread service should have been automatic, given the slow service.
We had a party of 7 at Branzinos on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great, we really enjoyed the old comfortable feel of the restaurant - dark woods and deep colors throughout. The small plate appetizers were all very delicious and our main courses were also well done. I would not recommend the restaurant for larger parties - the largest table area they had was just enough to accommodate 7.
We were seated at a listing table that appeared to be missing part of it's support, moved to a table with a flickering then functioning light, given a menu and told they were "out of "many basic food and drink choices, and finally served a nearly inedible meal of uncooked fesh pasta and shrimp 80 minutes after sitting down. Is this any way to run a restaurant? Would not recommend.
The mushroom crostini and the mussels were amazing. Their signature dish, the sea bass, not so much. it was mushy, kind of.
nice out door dining where you can order HH drinks during dinner
As what I"ve said earlier food is really good and I cannot complainanything it is really super delicious especially the wild mushroom bruschetta it is to die for. Service is good except they keep on asking you if we want our plate don't be removed but aside from that I have a great evening with my friends and wonderful food. oops one more thing no air conditioner k side the restaurant so it wS really hot!
