Brando's
The chef/owner, Steven Botta, grew up in Brooklyn and learned many of recipes used at Brando's from his mother. Raised in this welcoming tradition, he believes when you enter Brando's, whether its your first time or your one hundredth time, you should always feel like they are dining with family.
Soulful Italian is the best way to describe our menu. Our culinary team has been trained at the finest culinary schools, and has over fifty years of combined experience. From our fresh pasta, to our line-caught fish, to our thirty-five day dry-aged steaks, the difference is discernible

We went for our anniversary, and when we were seated, they'd put out rose petals and heart confetti on the table which was a very nice touch. We started with the fried mozzarella in a lemon anchovy sauce which unfortunately left something to be desired. It wasn't overly lemony or anchovy-y which was a disappointment. The penne vodka was the best I've ever had, and my husband said the same. I had the scallops with zucchini risotto which were both flavorful, unfortunately my husband wasn't too impressed with his chicken scarpariello. Would definitely go back for a different app and the penne vodka again, as well as the great service.
Dined on a Saturday. Service is always top notch. We decided to split the Stefano dish as an appetizer, was fantastic! Bone in Filet and Grouper were also excellent. Finished with the Fried Tortoni for desert. Nice wine list. Overall a perfect dinner. Look forward to coming back again soon!
Our service was amazing. The food was good but not the best Italian I’ve had. The butternut squash soup was bland. The desserts however were amazing! Try the cannoli you can’t go wrong, that was the best I’ve had.
Service and food were both very good. Brando’s has been consistent since we’ve been going there the last several years.
Charged $40 for what should have been a complimentary birthday dessert. If you are going to charge we should have been given the choice to order what we wanted!!!
Waiter didn’t disclose dessert charge in advance and told us our friends wanted to treat us to an after dinner drink. So we ordered think IoT was taken care of... only to get bill with drink charges. When asked the waiter was like oh... they offered but then left. ... shouldn’t he have told us that before we ordered?!!!
Excellent food. The tables for two are very tight and dark.
We always have a wonderful meal at Brando's. Old school red sauce is delicious. Glad they sized down on the meatball size, smaller but you get three in the meatball salad, Ambience is great. We like to eat at the bar, bartenders very attentive.
For a special occasion . On the pricey side but good. Service was excellent.

so tender, and my friend had the filet mignon on the bone. What an outstanding meal! Our server was excellent! This is a very special place indeed!
From the time you walk in the door to the end of the meal you will not be disappointed. Our server was a lovely polite and knowledgeable on the specials and the regular menu. Or bus people were equally pleasant. Our dinners were delicious, perfectly prepared —the pork chop special was unreal. I cannot wait to return, this is what ding should be and so seldom is. 5 stars for Brando’s, bravo!!!
My wife and I chose to go there for our 15th Anniversary. From the moment we walked in the door to the time we left, we were treated like the most important diners in the entire restaurant. The waiter and busboys were so professional but kept the environment so warm and inviting. The cocktails were prepared to perfection. We recommend the polenta and mushroom appetizer. It reminded us of our many trips to our special restaurant in Bermuda. The chicken francese and halibut tasted so good followed by the ricotta cheesecake that was light and flavorful. The hostess/manager came over to make sure we were enjoying our experience. We could tell that she loves what she does. Overall, a great experience. We look forward to coming back with friends and letting others know Brando's is a top choice for a dining experience.

Upscale with food to match. Wine list follows that theme. A special place. Took 3 weeks to get a resevation and we will repeat as soon as we can. Service is particularly top notch!

Horrible experience at this restaurant. Four of us came to this place anticipating a nice birthday dinner. We were met with an overly aggressive manager who upon sitting down at the table told my husband to take his baseball cap off. He said the owner of the restaurant has a policy that men cannot wear hats. We made the reservation on open table and no where on Open Table does it state that men cannot wear hats. Nowhere! This manager threatened my husband saying he would not be served unless he took his hat off! Arrogant, Condescending and completely inappropriate. My husband has been in professional baseball his entire career and always wears a baseball cap. Had we known this was Brando’s policy we could have chosen a different restaurant for our celebration. My husband takes off his hat so we can have a peaceful dinner. We spent $350.00 dollars for our dinner. After dinner this arrogant, overly aggressive manager comes back to our table and continues his bullying and says we are not welcome at this restaurant. Are you kidding me! We spent $350.00 dollars to be treated like this! We’ve dined all over the world and have never been treated in this way. This is not a country club or a 5 star restaurant. This is a local Italian bistro in Asbury Park, NJ. Get a grip Brandos, you’re arrogance will be your demise.... and this manager should be fired immediately for bullying customers and destroying the reputation of Brando’s.
Our hat policy is posted at the door. I keep this policy not with arrogance, but with respect for my mother, the way she raised me and to maintain the level of decorum our guests expect from fine dining restaurants. Gentlemen don't wear hats at the table. It's sad that my policy ruined your experience, and I respect your prerogative to choose bistros with no dress code. My manager does not bully guests. He remains polite even when enduring verbal abuse and profanity from belligerent people.
