The chef/owner, Steven Botta, grew up in Brooklyn and learned many of recipes used at Brando's from his mother. Raised in this welcoming tradition, he believes when you enter Brando's, whether its your first time or your one hundredth time, you should always feel like they are dining with family.
Soulful Italian is the best way to describe our menu. Our culinary team has been trained at the finest culinary schools, and has over fifty years of combined experience. From our fresh pasta, to our line-caught fish, to our thirty-five day dry-aged steaks, the difference is discernible
When sitting in the front dining area, it is quite noisy especially when the bartenders are slamming plates into the bus buckets, it makes it hard to talk .
The Hostess was the best I’m a regular customer made the mistake of making reservation on the wrong day . She resolved the issue without hesitation along with not inconveniencing any other customers 👍 Thank You highly recommend the restaurant
Food was good but nothing special and very large portions. It was extremely loud and very hard to have a conversation. Don’t think we will return.
Fantastic friday night dinner. Food and drinks are top notch!
Bread is great, shrimp and scallop app. was fantastic, my veal parm was one of the best cuts i've ever had! And kudos to the bartender for the GREAT dirty martini!
Food was surprisingly just okay with both our grilled octopus appetizer and chicken savoy dinner served in a syrupy balsamic sauce. Definitely didn't need it with the octopus. Our waiter wasn't terribly engaged in terms of providing information about specials or regular menu items ("how about the pork chop, is it tender?"; response: "yeah it's good"). Our dinner was served when we were still finishing our appetizers, a big no-no for me, especially with in what is regarded as a top tier restaurant. Overall we felt rushed, and the food was just okay and service was sub-par.
Great Valentine's Day dinner.
Could only get early reservation because it was Valentine's day. Bar was full but restaurant was not even half full when we were to be seated. First they wanted to put us in the window by the hostess station we said no. Then they put us in the side room by the wait station and kitchen door. Mind you that room only had a few tables taken at the time. We then asked to get moved again. We shared the special shrimp and scallop scampi appetizer which was good but not great. For dinner I had the Veal with long hots from the menu which was delicious. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. The potato tart side was either too smokey or burnt for me. My friend had the filet and lobster special. The filet was good but the lobster had a funny taste like it was frozen and defrosted too many times. They didn't even eat it which was a sin for the price. The homemade sorbet was on point. Overall 1 out of 2 diners satisfied. Will try again.
We there with my husband for Valentines Day and had a wonderful meal. We have dined there a number of times and have never been disappointed
Everything was excellent in all facets
Always a good time and excellent food with very attentive staff.
Celebrated my birthday and they put confetti on the table and decorated my dessert.
The best you'll ever eat.....incredible service...go early parking is difficult
Food is always top shelf and choice of dishes is broader than any other Italian restaurant in Monmouth County.
Only negative - we sat near front door on a very cold night and got a draft every time door opened.
Would never sit there again.
Overpriced for the quality of food you receive.
Good food & service nice variety of appetizers.
A little noisy on a Saturday night, pricy but, overall a good restaurant. Definitely will be back.
It was our first time. That said I'm not sure we did it right. Service was excellent and apps were amazing, but the main course failed us. For apps we had Spudini (not the best but in the running) and beef agnolotti. Let me tell you... The agnolotti was the best thing we ate all night. Double the order and do it as your meal. For entrees I had scallops with zucchini 3 ways. Very good, although for being known for their scallops, I was not blown away and have had better. Husband had lobster arribiata and was very disappointed. For a MP dish at $55 we've had way fresher (not rubbery) lobster elsewhere. Overall we'll be back to grab a drink at the bar and will only be sampling other apps and specials.
Excellent food, excellent service! Always a special restaurant and a special night.
My choice of entree was not very tasty and it was immediately and gracefully replaced. My server was awesone
Love this place Great food and service This is a good place for special occasions
Always excellent food. Our favorite restaurant in Asbury Park!
Had another amazing meal at Brando’s . It’s a little pricy , but the meals are amazing and so worth it. We love the peasant shrimp, hanger steak and filet, but also had the wild boar special which was so delicious!
Honestly a long description isn’t even needed here. If you want to have one of the best meals you’ve ever had on your life then you must go....
I belive that Brando's has stepped up their game from a year ago. Lately the food has been not just good, but excellent. This time I ordered a pork chop special w/bolognese sauce. The chop was served on the bone, was juicy and tender. The sauce and cheese were delicious. My partner ordered the Veal and it was served on the bone as well. Very tender and yummy. Desserts are amazing as well. Love it! ps through Open Table I mentioned that it was a birthday. The table was presented to us with happy birthday glitter on the tablecloth and they added a candle to dessert...really nice touch :)
My husband’s 75th Birthday
Food was excellent! Can’t wait to go back and try more things!
great menu with plenty of choices. food is top notch, service is always on point. a NY city quality restaurant right here in Asbury Park.
Dinner was excellent. I brought our friends and the loved the food and the portion size
Food is fabulous, staff is attentive and well versed. Highly recommend.
Always a great dining experience.
Great staff and delicious food!!
We had a wonderful night at Brando’s. Celebrated an early anniversary dinner. Loved that we were placed in the “quieter” dining room. Food and service were both outstanding!! This was our first time, but definitely won’t be our last.
Brandos is a beautiful restaurant, they should "spruce up" the front as the inside is so much more elegant and beautiful compared to it's dark and dirty store front. The service is great, the tables are spread out for conversation, and it's menu is good for both steaks and Italian. A nice wine list with all types and price points. We will go again.
Dylan & Michael were absolutely delightful. We appreciate the VIP service and look forward to dining with them soon!
The food was fantastic. We had the pork bolognese special and it did not disappoint. Service was great too!
Brando is always a local favorite with a dark bar and a varied menu. We were especially happy with our meal and our service - particularly this past Friday night!! We were a large group that was generously accommodated as our guest list continued to fluctuate. We so appreciated the flexibility and the generous welcome.
Great food! Awesome service! We Also were not rushed.
Excellent food with a fantastic waiter. Definitely will be back and will recommend.
Brando’s was excellent!, food was great, and large portions. Menu had lots of options.
Dessert was great too. Zeppoles were like airy little pillows.
Wonderful meal and experience as always. We’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed. There are always many terrific options on the menu and their specials are always sure to please! From the bread to drinks to dessert and everything in between Brandos is perfection!
