Brandon's by the Beach Ratings and Reviews
The filet mignon was burnt on the outside and not very tasty and the pasta dish was very average. They served us a wine that was $48 on the menu and $5.99 at the grocery store which was really disappointing. We would definitely not recommend this restaurant as it is very expensive with poor quality food and drinks.
Wonderful setting. On Valentine’s Day we ate a great meal cooked to perfection. We overlooked the ocean. Service could have been more timely. But the overall service was great. We will be returning. Just such a nice setting and beautiful evening with my wonderful wife.
First of all, we had a really hard time finding Brandon's. There is no sign on the street and there is nothing anywhere saying that it is inside Tideline resort. All the staff was very helpful when we finally arrived to the time we left, but the lighting and atmosphere is very dull and dismal. (It was a 6:30 reservation in February so it was dark out.) We sat outside because it was a pleasant evening, and the lighting there was also very dull and uninviting. Our server was excellent and the food was good but were they were rather small portions. There was only two entrees on the menu that were under $30 - a chicken entre and a pasta entre. (Open Table has them rated with $30 and less). I noticed on the menu that there is an additional 18% service fee and 7% tax. I asked whether that was the tip, and our server said that it was a resort fee. The server also said most people don't realize that that is not the tip so servers often don't receive a tip. So your bill will be much more than anticipated based on the Open Table rating, and if you do leave an additional tip. This is an unbelievable practice and because of everything I have already mentioned, we will not be back.
I have been going to this place since it opened as the Omphoy. You cannot beat the beautiful view. However, the last 2 times I was there, it seemed to be going downhill. The lights above our table were out, so it was pitch black out doors. They were working on the other side of the deck, but not by ours. There wasn't even a candle on the table. Went to ladies room, no toilet paper at all in there. Place was empty and it was a Friday night. Food was OK, menu changed and not for the better. It almost seemed like it was about to soon go out of business. I hope it improves, I loved it when it was better and had a wonderful menu and service.
Before the establisment changed its name, it was a good address and at first sight the place is nice and pleasant.
After that is another story, although the minimum of service is just correct, but the buffet is poor, few choices, without any research or quality, as a low cost club for the elderly
To conclude, an over overpriced addition.
I will not recommend this address but rather advise against it
I trust open table as 99% of the restaurants I have reserved have been very good. Brandon's by the beach only has a good view. Everything else was horrible grouper came out hard as a rock sushi not fresh understaffed so service was slow. The waiter just apologized all night for the super slow service. Advice to the owner. Fire the manager and hire a professional who understands customer service and quality
We will not be back
Sunday brunch reminded me of a resort we visited in St Lucia. The food was made to order, the and delicious. The drinks were bottomless. The weather was poor so we couldn't eat outside, but we did go for a walk on the beach and sat under the cabana. Wonderful experience.
We were very disappointed by the food and wine menu. Our choices were very limited. Having come from the UK our restaurants have variety of food. We didnt even had prawn choice even though restaurant is by the sea! It was our 3rd anniversary and we were really looking forward to nice evening away from our 7 months baby but we ended up stay for an hour just to finish main meal.
I was offered a promotion and my husband and I decided to try this resraurant. It was,a little difficult to find as its in a hotel and that was,not soecified.
However, once we were seated, outside, next to the ocean,we were thrilled to have discovered this fabulous place. The food, service and ambiance were all superb.
It was just what we needed as we had a recent death in the family. The experience at Brandons helped us through a dificult time.
Service was very bad. Didn't have menus available when we were seated. Someone asked us what we wanted to eat, but we had never been furnished with a menu. Good pricing on the food, but the service was bad. There was a wedding reception going on which made it difficult to hear the server as well.
The food was fine, but the service was terrible. The restaurant was not crowded yet we waited over an hour for our dinner. The waiter seemed like he was preoccupied and uninterested and when the food finally came there was no apology or offer of a free glass of wine. Very disappointing for such a nice restaurant.
We had lunch on Sunday on the deck facing the ocean. Although the food was mediocre (the dressing on the Chinese chicken salad was tasteless), the excellent service fabulous ambiance more than made up for that. This restaurant is a wonderful place to take out-of-town guests since the interior design is beautiful and the exterior design is the beach! Can't beat that!
Beautiful location overlooking the ocean and all tables are well positioned for a view on the patio. Also there are 2 beautiful fire pits you can sit around and enjoy drinks while watching the view of the ocean. On the bad side it's too dark on the patio. They should have lights on each dinner table or somewhere to help with seeing. Also there needs to be more service staff for the number of tables.
I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was perfect. The view of the beach and the ocean was beautiful, the service was lovely, and although the menu was casual, all of the food was excellent. My boyfriend really enjoyed the experience and so did I, so we will certainly be back when we visit Palm Beach.
We arrived for lunch outside at 12:30 p.m. and waited about 45 minutes for someone to take our order. Then we waited over 1.25 hours for the food to be served. There were only 5 of us and most of us had salads! When it started to rain, no one came out to help us carry our food & champagne inside and one of our guests was a 91 year old woman! Unfortunately, this restaurant and experience is not what it used to be and there are too many other restaurants on the water at which we can dine, where staff are more attentive.
We were restricted to a buffet dinner due to the Christmas holiday. The food was not worth the price. Tiny cubes of turkey meat, a couple of slices of pig fat which the guy serving tried to sell it as delicious. The worst part is that we had upset stomachs. The salmon was terrible looking (no one touched) the one vegetable dish was over cooked. The sushi was suspect because it was next to the cheeses and deli meats which looked a day old.
Had dinner with friends on Christmas Eve and it was great. This was my first time here it was recommended by the four seasons. Great service, and robert the manger came by and chatted with us and all the other tables to make sure we were fine. I'll be back for brunch.
