Brand 158 serves American cuisine as well as Italian pizzas to patrons in an indoor or al fresco seating area. Patrons who choose salads will be asked to choose one of the many topping for their salads. Apart from choosing a side, patrons can opt for a delicious add-on which includes cheese and grilled mushrooms. Brand 158's pizza specials include buffalo chicken pizza, all-day egg pizza and Hawaiian ham pizza. Dessert specials include Nutella banana strawberry pizza and the Belle Helene pizza which is made from dark chocolate, pears and marshmallows. The ambience of Brand 158 is very laid-back and relaxed as well.
This restaurant has permanently closed.
My party of 6 truly enjoyed their meals. We ordered sandwiches, pizza and burgers and we all agreed that the food was genuinely excellent. The main thing this restaurant needs to work on is its service. Everyone we encountered was very friendly when we actually encountered them. Over the course of our meal, we either had 3 servers checking on us within 15 seconds of each other or were left alone for 20-30 minute stretches.
My chief criticism of this sporadic "gang" server pattern is that it is completely inefficient. Stations were not definitive and it felt like they were all sort of "winging it". The restaurant's policy to attach a 15% tip to your bill robs the customer of the right to not reward the bad service. It also kills any incentives for the servers to get their act together and strive for excellence. I would say the service was mediocre at best and it is frustrating that the customer is forced to reward lax and apathetic attention.
This place is absolutely wonderful! I hope they open a location in West LA because the food and drinks are delicious and the ambiance is awesome! I have dined in some of the most popular and affluent restaurants around the world and have never been to a place like this. The decor is so beautiful and the attention to detail is superb from floor to ceiling, so I expected high-end restaurant pricing, but was pleasantly surprised by the low price-point menu given the look of the place. Everything we ate was fresh and tasty, and service was excellent. Looking forward to my next visit!
Brand 150 is ultra modern. The food and the service have been consistently good. I plan to return.
If you haven't ate here yet, you are truly missing out on something amazing!!
Service: A++ -- Tiara, you are a true gem! Absolutely pleasure to have you as a server. She was friendly & so funny! Truly a sweetheart. She was helpful with our choices and made sure we were pleased with our selections. We would've tipped her more than 20% if we could have! ...Shant the assistant manager was also great. He came by our table and spoke with us for a bit, making sure we enjoyed everything.
Food: A+++ -- The spinach artichoke dip is a must have! Easily the best I have ever had, trust me! The Brand 158 burger was cooked to perfection and delicious. The kale salad was very tasty. The chicken wrap was also tasty. But the Nutella banana pizza was to die for!!! You HAVE TO, and I mean HAVE TO, order this!!! You will than me for it, I promise!!
Do yourself a favor and stop by Brand 158 for your next dinner or lunch. You won't be disappointed. If Tiara is your waitress, you'll be extra pleased since she's a superstar!! One of the best places to eat in Glendale!!
I live about 30 minutes away from Glendale and every time I visit, Brand 158 is my go to restaurant. Clean, great service, delicious food, perfect location right across The American at Brand. I've dined here many times and whoever I have been with has felt the same.
Everything is amazing under Appetizers, I just haven't tried the Popcorn Fried Chickens since I'm a pescatarian. Salads are fresh. Blackened Salmon and Ani tuna burgers are a must try. I've seen their hot dogs and they look pretty good as well. The house-dough pizzas are my favorite, so many to choose from and you will eat your fingers with it. From the bar my favorite drinks are the Burning Blueberry, Cucumber Basiltini, and the Strawberry Breeze so yummy.
Tried this place out for the first time. Had amazing burgers and pizzas with great drinks priced at $5.95. Staff was very pleasant and attentive.
Brand 158 has one of the nicest staffs I have encountered in a restaurant
I've been to Brand twice. I returned the second time because I enjoyed my meal and the ambiance was quite nice. Although the service was adequate; it was not noteworthy. I returned to celebrate an occasion with two friends. I will NEVER return there again and would not recommend it to anyone. The menu selection is quite nice. Food preparation and presentation are quite good. But the no tip policy has likely engendered unequivocally terrible service. There was NEVER a point during which the staff was burdened or stretched. I don't think there was ever a point that more than 5 - 6 tables had customers. Yet we waited quite some time both to place and receive our order (which were salads all the way around). We were never asked if everything was satisfactory; never asked if we needed beverage refills; and never asked if we wanted dessert. In fact, despite twice requesting a refill on our beverages, we finished our meal before anything arrived. Finally we sat for sometime before I had to ask for the bill. Not quite the celebration I had hoped to achieve with my friends.
There are no pros to this restaurant. Food is subpar and service is non-existent and yet they charge a 15% service fee regardless of the POOR service you are bound to receive.
I had a 2pm reservation and was seated 15 minutes late. Generally this is not an issue but half of
the restaurant was empty. I didn't understand what the host was waiting for. After being seated it took another 30 minutes for someone to take our drink order. At this point we've been at the restaurant for 45 minutes with no drinks, appetizers or any kind of food.
We placed an order for 2 appetizer skewers and a Chinese chicken salad. Our skewers arrived
cold and the dressing on my salad along with half of its ingredients appeared to be from Costco
(not the "gourmet" they claim to serve). Basically, the presentation advertised on their website is
most definitely not what arrives at your table.
For our main courses we ordered an assortment of burgers and two plates of pasta. The burgers
were not bad but definitely not worth the $16-$20 average cost after adding the sides. As for
their pastas, the sauce looked like it came from a jar, the chicken looked like the processed
square chicken at fast food restaurants and the cheese was rubbery.
To sum it up, pick another restaurant.
The truffle fries are amazing, everything else I tried so far has been disappointing will try one more time
Buratta, kale and quinoa salad, mushroom truffle pizza are all wins.
Went to an event at the Alex theater. Wanted a pre show meal fit for adults and teens with a wide variety. Enjoyed burgers, pizza with egg(excellent), and truffle fries (a must). Most bread products are made fresh in house. The brioche hamburger bun and pizza crust were excellent. Cucumber gimlet was fresh and not too sweet. Shirley Temples were made with the juice of burgundy cherries instead of grenadine. Our kids loved them.
Service was really good. Friendly and helpful staff gave good food suggestions and explained the menu. They were not making crepes that night, so very disappointed since that was one reason we wanted to try the place. Pizza and burgers were pretty good, but average selection and nothing noteworthy.
Slow service even though we were the only people in the restaurant - Just ordered 2 salads. Servers were polite but nothing to write home about. The 1st time I went there, they had a great "No tip / no cash - Our reward is when you come back - Business Model" which must have not worked out well for them but instead charge a mandatory 15% fee on top of your bill. Food is mediocre, slow service. That was the last time I will go there.
Easy parking, place is pretty new, environment is pretty cool, casual, the food is really good, the choices are very different and they are willing to accommodate when you want changes in your meal. The truffle fries are amazing, the spinach artichoke dip is also great. I'm not a big lover of NY steak but then again I don't particularly love it even in the nicest steakhouse. Totally going back!
Great location, great service, great atmosphere. Food is ok but could be better.
4 of us had salads with some meats (fish) and 3 drinks. Bill came out to be $110. That's pretty high frankly.
You don't tip at this place but they automatically slap on a 15% gratuity fee. That's on the mid-upper level of tipping if you ask me. They claim it's not the same as tipping but there is little difference.
I'm not sure I'd go back here as it's just too expensive for what it is...you can eat at some decent places for almost $30 a person.
There is a mandatory service fee of 15%, included in your total bill, then you are taxed 9% on that total. Food was ok, expensive for a ahi salad, $16.95. Drinks are average price, $9.00 for Crown Royal and 7up.
We have gone to this restaurant several times and have always been really happy with the food. However, the service keeps getting worse! Our food took forever to be brought out and they also messed up the order. We always order dessert, but had been waiting so long for our meal we skipped dessert. The other problem is that the drink selection is very poor. They have on red wine and one white wine that you can choose from and they also only have four beers on tap. Considering this restaurant has a huge bar, their selection is awful!
I have been to Brand 158 a number of times now and have been very impressed. The menu is very inclusive, the food delicious , and service spot on. The cocktails are unique and very well priced. They also have televisions for sporting events or bored children. I will definitely go back
Perfectly nice place near the Americana for a good bite, but just nothing all that special.
There is something about these resturants that are corporate or group-owned, that start to have a level of sameness to them. It tastes like the food you'd find in several hotels. Just nothing unique or special. And odd, glitzy decor that bordered on tacky.
Although we booked this place based on a couple of reviews that mentioned having good options for dietary needs, I would beg to differ.
Don't get me wrong... the food was good, but they don't have specific Gluten Free menus, and even though our waiter was told about GF needs, the Tomato soup came with Croutons! (which had to be fished out prior to eating).
So... Food good (if you don't have any special needs).
We had some issues with the tables (had to move it out of the awkward center of the room) and it was wobbly, but the food was perfectly fine. We felt that the price is a little steep, but it's not a terrible place to eat. The tip is added by management at 15%.
Right across from Americana in Glendale. Perfect place to hang out with friends for happy hour. Although they don't have an official happy hour the drink prices were pretty good.
We have been to Brand 158 several times and enjoyed our experience. This time, not so much. The service was really poor and the food was under cooked and bland. Parking pricey. We were able to find parking on the street on previous visits. This time we had to give our car to the valet.
The food was fantastic! Service was stellar! Prices very reasonable!
I have a few dietary restrictions and can struggle with finding a place to accomodate that. Brand 158 had plenty of options for me to chose from and the food was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and friendly as well.
I will definitely be back!
We went on a Monday night, and there were only about 20 other people there. We got a table by the window right away, and our server was right there. We had a salad, a pizza and an entree, and all were excellent. My pizza was chewy and crisp and the white cheese, pear and arugula topping was really tasty. I had a house salad, and cracked on a pit left in an olive, and they took it off the bill. This is a truly wonderful restaurant, that I would highly recommend for a casual night out. I didn't care for all the television screens playing sports, but we were able to block that our after a while.
I will come again.
We had excellent service. It was a very pleasant atmosphere. I think the manager was there. If so, he was very kind.
Clean, comfortable. The food was OK -minus the apple crisp which was EXCELLENT! I think they will only get better
We will be back. Very expensive valet.
Try them out!
The service has suffered at this place and now they add a 15% automatic service charge...where when this placed opened up they prided themselves on a dining experience with no tipping.
When Brand 158 first opened I was excited about it and went there several times, introducing family, friends, and colleagues to it. However, my recent visit left me extremely aggregated. Not only did they raise their prices, equaling the same as if you were suppose to have lunch at the Montage in Beverly Hills,, for example, but also they added this new 15% service fee. The unique aspect for the place is they do not take any tips from the customers, which is all and great, but if you are going to change the menu and raise it's prices, add the service fee, and still state on your tab that you do not accept tips from your customers, that makes all of that much ridiculous. Not to mention that the food is merely mediocre in comparison.
The food is great! You must try the bacon leek pizza. It's amazing. Truffle fries and burrata are also great! Beer is only 3.95!
I had been wanting to try Brand 158 for some time and mostly great reviews from friends and family, my mom and I decided to make a reservation and head over. The company website vigorously states that "tips are not accepted" as they follow a unique form of customer service and pay their employees better than most restaurants. What they fail to mention is that for the extremely mediocre food, a 15% "service fee" is added to each bill, regardless of party # (unless they have a unique philosophy on what is considered a large party- it was just my mom and me). Our server was attentive and friendly but not overbearing, so that was good. I would like to give Brand 158 another chance, but maybe at another meal time with a larger group.
Nice hip atmosphere without blaring loud music. Excellent pasta dishes, cheap fusion drinks. Easy public parking one block East. Eclectic menu with many choices.
The drinks are cheap and very good. The food is okay. I think it's a little too expensive. But overall great place to hang and drink.
This was our second time here and the food and drinks are delicious! Attentive service and well priced...can't ask for more!!!
I've been to Brand 158 a few times and have enjoyed every meal. They have a nice selection: small plates, salads, pizzas, pasta and main course dishes. Usually when I go with friends, we share everything so that we can sample their nice selection of food.
Their no tipping policy is unique and I actually like it. The staff works as a team which is refreshing. I wish them well and will probably be back next week.
We are four senior ladies that meet for lunch once a month and we were anxious to try this new restaurant! The menu is in very small light print which is not the best for our age group, but we got a little more light at our table (the blind was closed) and we were fine. We kidded with the waiter about it and he said it wasn't the first time that had been mentioned. My friend and I shared a chicken wrap that was tasty and the sweet potato fries were excellent. My other two friends liked their choices, but unfortunately I can't remember what they had! Typical of our age group ; )
For desert we each had a scoop of ice cream and it was very refreshing. We loved the no tipping policy! No Open table points however! Bummer!
ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant was trying way too hard to be cool/modern with all the different textures they had going on (brick wall, wooden beams, marble columns). But everything looks very new and clean.
SERVICE: Kind of slow. They had no idea I had made reservations. They use tablets to take orders and my waiter seemed a little lost looking for what food to tap. Overall, they were friendly.
FOOD: We ordered the mini skewer appetizer (decent), Chilean bass with potatoes (very good), sauteed mushrooms (good but a little bit bland), and the steak and fries (overcooked/tough). Also ordered the iced green tea, cool cucumber and B158 drink. Boyfriend really liked the cool cucumber.
OVERALL: Good spot to hang out with pretty good food.
Outstanding food. Outstanding service. Outstanding environment. My new favorite, go-to restaurant in Glendale!!!! Delicious and hip. High quality food at a very reasonable price!!! No tips and credit cards only (cash accepted but not preferred). Love everything about this place!
