Branchwater Ratings and Reviews
Everything was terrific at Branchwater — the food, service, atmosphere, we were happy with it all and will put it on our list of repeats. We had a fried wild mushroom appetizer that was very tasty, a lentil, sausage and vegetable soup that was light and with excellent flavor. I had a lobster tail burger/sandwich, which I would definitely order again and my husband had a grilled chicken burger that was very satisfying. The fries are perhaps the best I’ve had in Georgia. The Chardonnay from Monterey I ordered was very drinkable. It was a quiet late Sunday afternoon when we were there, so the bartender waited on us. She was very personable and attentive. It is a chef-owned restaurant, so everything there is handled with pride. Even the condiments are house-made. I would go back in a heartbeat. Go. Just go.
The food choices were awesome and we loved our food! The Brussel sprouts are yummy, but if you are trying to be healthy be aware that they are flash fried before they come out. I suffered later do to the greasiness, but they said next time I could ask that they not do that! All in all it was a great experience. On the down side the specialty drinks weren't all that special. We ordered 1 specialty drink the grapefruit martini which I found was not that good. Our guest ordered a margarita and could not drink it it was so bad but they subbed it out for him so no complaints! The dirty martini was good and the beer choices were sufficient. The food again was great, but be prepared to spend a bit of money! Over $200 for 4 people. I loved the atmosphere it was great for entertaining clients, not stuffy or too fancy. Relaxed evening especially since we ate out on the patio! Worth trying for sure!
The meal was good. We had the tuna, a chicken dish and the pork. The tuna was done perfectly. The directions we got from the Open Table Website were incorrect and took us into a private housing development - so watch out! We were not from the area so we had no idea were we were going.
Food & service very good; would love this place if it were not for the noise level being off the charts...as the place filled up, we could barely hear each other speak. It appears to be a result of the open high ceiling which is visually appealing but makes for just awful acoustics. Unlikely to return solely because it's just uncomfortably loud and really put a damper on our evening and attempted conversation with friends. Really is a shame! 😟
The food was awesome, from the chicken cordon bleu egg rolls to the surf&turf. Prices were very easy on the pocket in comparison with other fine eateries. Only complaint was our waitress, but after speaking with Katie the manager I was told that the next day was her last. She has set me up with free appetizers for my next visit which I look forward to-oh, they have an extensive wine list!
This was not our first time dining at Branchwater but it was definitely not our best experience and unfortunately it appears to be service related. What is unclear is where the breakdown occurred.
The food was tasty and the drinks were spot on, once we received them, but there were long gaps in timing that really dragged the meal down; not what one should expect from Branchwater. I I don't know if the server was having an off day, was over committed or if the bartender was behind, posibbly a combination of the three.
In any event, it left a bad taste in our mouth (pun intended); we may give Branchwater another go but not in the immediate future.
Great Food, Great Service but it is very noisy. The music was turned up very loud, we requested for it to be turned down which they did promptly but then we realized why it was up so loud in the first place. The restaurant is just very noisy and you could hear everyone talking so I think the music was turned up to drown out the conversation noise.
We had heard great things about Branchwater and frankly we were disappointed. We took friends for Fathers Day. Non of our dishes were above average. I ordered the seared scallops and sweet corn risotto. The scallops had way to much pepper and I didn't think the risotto was cooked all the way. Didn't complain about the main course. Ordered the cheese cake with the chocolate crust for dessert along with one of our guests. It was dry and the presentation was terrible. Had to send the dessert back Waitress was accommodating and did take those items off our bill. Don't think we will go back.
I created a reservation for 2 at 8:30 for a birthday dinner. When we arrived they had given away our reservation to someone else who had a "similar sounding last name" and was not celebrating a birthday. Instead of seating us in the reserved area we were placed at a table by the restrooms. I would advise better training to the greeting staff. They need to ask full names for reservations and double check before seating.
We went there for our anniversary. We ate outdoors. Food was excellent. Service with Jordan was exceptional. Brussels sprouts are not to be missed. Scallops and risotto and veal meatballs are incredible. We will definitely visit again when we next visit Vickery. What a delightful find. What a treat indeed.
Good food, although our Brussels sprouts were over cooked and needed a dressing of some sort (have had them before when they were excellent). Disappointing because I was looking forward to them. Waitress brought me 2 drinks that I didn't order because it was so loud I don't think she could hear what I was actually ordering. Dessert came out with no utensils had to sit and look at it for 5 min before taking a bite. Overall good food in general but service could use a little help and / or a little bit of noise separation from the dining / bar area.
Branchwater is my favorite local restaurant, confirmed once again with this most recent visit. I celebrated my birthday with my family. Grant served us. - a fine young man, very attentive and eager to please. He made a great suggestion for our wine choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers and entrees. We will be back.
Great place to gather with friends. The cocktails were delicious. Appetizer choices were very good the Brussel sprouts with Bacon are craveable! All entrees were made to perfection.
Live band was playing and the service from our server, Cindy, was friendly, attentive with great suggestions to make the experience great!
