Its not cheep and its not a quiet place. If that is what you are looking for, its not the place for you. However, if you want great service and really great food (without paying Buckhead prices) this is a very good choice! They serve up big portions so there is always lunch for the next day and if you like brussel sprouts you won't be disappointed.
We came to Branchwater to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We arrived and seated outside on their patio. We waited 20+ minutes and no one ever came out to serve us. We even got the attention of another server (after trying multiple times with everyone ignoring us) and told them we haven’t been waited on. Then waited again for 10 minutes with no one coming so we needed up leaving. So bummed out.
We were sat promptly for dinner and greeted by our server. She took our drink orders and answered general questions. She didn’t completely listen to our requests but generally nice and polite. The scallops were over seasoned but cooked appropriately. Risotto was blah. Lobster tails also over seasoned.
Great experience! The food was delicious and the services was wonderful as well.
4.6 stars seems a little high. Decent food. Average service, average bar, average. I will visit again. Good neighborhood pub.
The food was good, service was excellent. Would recommend this restaurant if your in the area.
Great food! A little busy and loud, but overall a good experience. Definitely will go again!
Service was slow and not up to what we usually receive here.
Great food in a great location. Try the Ahi Tuna Poke bowl...
The outside seating was excellent. Our server knew her menu very well and made thoughtful, useful recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The outside dining was perfect for us and our server Angel was excellent. The food was hot, delicious and an abundant portion.
Good service. Good food. Very professional and accommodating staff. We enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance. Waitress rocked.
I have become a regular and enjoy the food and service there. thank you. Nancy
Food was delicious! First time there and didn’t disappoint.
Enjoyed the meal and the service. Able to soend an enjoyable evening out without feeling rushed. Will definitely return.
Excellent food and service.
We had an early dinner on a Friday evening. The outdoor patio was pleasant but could use some noise mitigation from the traffic on Post Road. We started with Branchwater's famous Sprouts appetizer, which never disappoints; it's always crunchy and spicy, and the portion is generous for two. My husband had the special, which was a meat trio lobster tail, lamb lollipops, and a steak filet. He requested a substitution (more lamb, no steak) and the chef obliged. Everything was cooked to his satisfaction and again, a generous portion. I had the friend lobster sandwich with tomato slaw. The lobster meat was tender and fried to a satisfactory crunch. Branchwater will continue to be one of our go-to spots in West Forsyth!
Our server was very helpful with the menu. We ordered the fried Brussel Sprouts that were fabulous! The steak was cooked just as ordered. We will definitely be going back.
The table in the bar area was a bit tight for our guests. Otherwise, it was a wonderful evening
They put us in the bar to be waited on by the bartender on Mother’s Day.
Shame on the managers and owners! So, I've waited almost a week to write this review...and I'm still livid and disappointed about the situation. We had eaten our Easter lunch at Branchwater in Canton, a month earlier, and it was a wonderful experience. That lunch reservation was also for 2pm, for 3 adults and one 5 yr old. We were able to order whatever we wanted off of their regular menu. Everything was delicious, the service was good, and we left very satisfied. Our experience at Branchwater in Cumming was the complete opposite. An OVER PRICED, HORRIBLE BUFFET for $50/adult. A warning would have been nice.
There were 5 opportunities the restaurant could have told us that their subpar quality buffet was going to be $50/person, and that that would be the only dining option. On Open Table, on their website, on their dry erase board, on the little card on the table, or from the waitress.
So, that's the price issue. Let's go over the buffet. Half was breakfast items like what you would find at IHOP. Breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, scones. The other half had brisket with mushrooms and onions, Shrimp n grits, salmon (so over cooked you could cut it with a knife), prime rib, some kind of crawfish dish, green beans, mac n cheese, and mixed veggies. NOTHING on this menu was worth the $50/adult price
Now, I'm not above spending a lot of money on fine dining. I have eaten at Legal Seafood, The Capital Grille, Bistro Niko, Bones, Prime, etc and have spent over $100 for myself and my husband. BUT....at each of those meals, we got to CHOOSE our appetizer, entree, and dessert and we KNEW going into the restaurant what we were going to be spending. Talk about STICKER SHOCK. We were going to pay for my mom's lunch too, but when we got the bill stating $180+ I physically got ill. She saw my reaction and immediately stated she would pay for hers. You know what??? SHE IS ON SS as she is 70 yrs old and $50 for one meal on that kind of income is insane!
Overall good experience. The duck was good but a little pricey for the amount. Food was good.
Celebrated Mother's Day today here. This is one of the two days they do a set Buffet menu. The other day is Easter.
Appetizers were great my wife had the Chicken & Corn Chowder with Golden Sherry. She loved it and was very impressed with the flavor and spices. I had the Cajun Chicken Egg Roll with Creole Mustard. Outstanding taste and flavor on this egg roll the chef has done a wonderful job.
The buffet included eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, Belgian waffles, Mac and cheese, brisket, dill salmon, prime rib, and shrimp and grits. Everything was perfect and all found was outstanding. They had the staff serving from behind the bar so no worries during this buffet.
Landon was our waiter and did an outstanding job and was super professional knowing when to approach and when to leave you alone. His suggestions were spot on with the selection of drinks and appetizers.
Had a chance to speak to the manager a very nice lady, told us they have brought back all of the staff they had laid off from COVID. So wonderful to see the restaurant bring everyone back and still doing well.
Do not miss an opportunity to check this restaurant out. 5 star for sure.
We were there for the Mother's Day brunch within a half hour of the start of the brunch. The selection was fine. Unfortunately the meats were below standard. The fried chicken was dry and tasteless. The prime rib was bordering on raw and had an "off" flavor to it. The pork sausages were chewy/rubbery. On the positive side, the shrimp and grits were very good. At $49.99/person it was rather disappointing since we have eaten there for regular meals which were fine.
Good food and prompt courteous wait staff
The food is amazing!! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and everything we ordered was delicious! The service was great and the patio wonderful. We enjoyed our evening and cannot wait to come back! We ended up asking to sit on the patio because it was too loud inside and we are so glad we did because it was the perfect setting for our date.
We had a great time! The service and food were both great.
Would be even better if no smoking was allowed on patio
Overall, the food was a little disappointing given the previous reviews. A little cold by the time it got to our table. Waiter did a good job overall and was adequately attentive.
Will probably give it another chance, but maybe not.
Every time I have been everything has been EXCELLENT!!!!
Highly accommodating regarding a change from outdoor to indoor seating. Nice servers and very good food. Had the hangar steak, grouper, chicken cutlets, and Branchwater burger. All were very good. The most tender hangar steak I’ve ever had. All of us enjoyed our food and experience at Branchwater.
Tried this place based on reviews in open table. Found the food to be bland and over priced. Waiter was nice but wouldn’t eat here again.
We have been several times, and the experience is always great!
The service was overwhelmed due to prom. The food was very good. Very loud even with tables apart. Like the feel of the restaurant. Parking can be a challenge on busy weekends.
Great specials with super tender steak and tasty fish.
The note that I put in my reservation for a slice of cake to say Happy Birthday at the end my husband and I meal did NOT happen. I had to remind our waiter because he forgot
Our server Alexis was so nice and sweet! She was very attentive to our needs. Food was delicious!
Started at the bar with cocktails and an appetizer and then moved to our table. The entire experience was fabulous!
We had a great time! Food was excellent and we loved the music!
