We had a great meal! Appetizers were phenomenal as was dinner and their craft cocktails. The service staff was well educated on what paired well, was able to give recommendations and also kept us up on what specials they had going. Will definitely be back!
Awesome place. Everything we had tasted amazing! A little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for a "fancy" meal/outing.
Excellent food as always, great accommodation for NYE for an early night with two little kids. Thanks guys!!
Bramling Cross has a great happy hour menu. We feasted on about 8-10 small plates between four people and we were all satisfied at the end. Their best deal has to be the oysters on happy hour, and they had a Devil Egg app that was divine! This was my second time here, but first time for happy hour and I will be back again. I would say the best happy hour in Ballard because of good prices and lots of options. Also great cocktails and good atmosphere, and attentive service.
We love this place! Try the Wedge Salad! We also had the Dynamite Chicken and Greens! Yum!
Fantastic happy hour; exceptional service
We went to Bramling Cross for our small office dinner. The menu looked delicious as did the wine, beer and cocktails. And, Happy Hour goes until 7pm which is great!
We had a vegetarian and a vegan in our group, and just as a heads up, most all of the menu items are made with some sort of meat product or are fried in the same fryer as meat products (I should have paid better attention to the menu ahead of time when making the reservation). That said, our server went above and beyond to accommodate the dietary restrictions of our party, and made them feel very comfortable despite having specific dietary needs.
The food was very delicious and overall we had a wonderful experience! I would go again and highly recommend it! That said, if you are vegan or vegetarian, you will find the menu options to be very limited.
We went here to celebrate our Birthdays and the food and service was outstanding.
Terrific all around
Food was mediocre. Service was “Seattle snotty”. I guess because gratuity was figured in they did not care about service. Ethan’s flavors were all the same. Very disappointed!
All around great dining experience. We arrived before our reservation but were seated right away and enjoyed an hours long dinner sharing small plates.
Good food and great happy hour deals! We found this place on Yelp and were pleasantly surprised. Cauliflower was my favorite!
I’ve been there a few times and the menu is always different. This last time was probably the weakest menu I’ve had there. However, the cauliflower was AMAZING.
I was also really looking forward to dessert and the waiter brought us our check before offering anything. When I asked he said they were out of everything :(
We had a reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday. My best friend was visiting from Vancouver B.C., so my husband and I️ wanted to take her to a nice dinner. Got there on time and was shocked to find out it was happy hour until 7. Well, let me tell you that we had 6 dishes and 6 drinks for $140. And it was all stellar. Kusshi oysters, steak tar tar, pretzels... perfectly executed and delicious. Highly recommend!
The food and service was great. We loved the cauliflower soup was delicious!
This was our first trip to Bramling Cross and we were so impressed! The Restaurant Week menu was delicious and our service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
The happy hour menu goes until 7 pm, offers many of their menu items, and all draught beers discounted. Date night with my wife was great there.
Really great service. It happened to be restaurant week, so it was a good value. Odd thing was they ran out of small spoons, so we used these huge spoons for our deserts.
Brambling Cross is a great place to eat. We happened to be there for Seattle Restaurant Week and felt lucky to get in. Instead of choosing one of the appetizers, we got to try all four which seemed generous. Our waiter was extremely nice and they timed everything very well.
Celebrated our anniversary with dinner on a Tuesday night. The service was amazing--we were led to a table with a hand written 'happy anniversary' note. If that wasn't enough it was followed by two complimentary glasses of rose champagne. We ended up ordering off of the restaurant week menu and LOVED every item. Our server was fantastic--letting us know his favorites and the relative size of the dishes. Could not have had a better experience and will definitely be back!!
Very good happy hour burger and small menu. Very good selection of beer and wine's for happy hour. Parking as always I difficulty in Ballard
Had a party of 6 for restaurant week. The waitress was great with the group and accommodating for food allergies. The food was outstanding and the cocktails were original and tasty. It is a little echo-y, but a great overall experience.
We have been before and it was better the first time around. Food was a little overcooked, particularly the fried chicken and wings. Cauliflower was delicious. I would definitely recommend that dish. Overall I thought it was overpriced for what we got.
We love the Brambling Cross. Always have a delicious meal and excellent service!
We were rushed since we were the last ones there
Really good fried chicken, not noisy or crowded. My teenage grandson had enough to eat, which is not easy. Dessert chocolate cookie was mind boggling good.
I was here on a Friday night with friends and had a large reservation that I had to modify - the hostess was SO kind and made adjustments that fit our needs. The drinks and food were amazing! Such a variety for whatever you're feeling. Our burger came out not the way we asked and the waitress kindly took it back to fix and it offered us dessert on the house. There's already a 20% tip place on the meal but f I had the option to tip extra I would have - this was an amazing experience :)z
Much too noisy like so many restaurants. They did turn down the music which was very nice and considerate, but turned it up again an hour later.
The overall noise level turned the 4 of us off to possibly going again.
Very solid gastropub. Monday night ambiance was pretty low key. Pickle fries are not fried pickles but fries with a clever combination of dill and seasonings. Cauliflower appetizer was very good. The minimally seasoned Dynamite fried chicken was very good but not exciting - makes me miss Kingfish Cafe. The accompanying sides were quite good - enjoyed the grits and biscuit especially.
Not as good as other Ethan Stowell restaurants. I'd recommend Staple and Fancy over this one if you're in Ballard.
We had the amazingly delicious deviled eggs, followed by a small order of dynamite chicken and the Bramling Burger with pickled fries. The food was outstanding but only bettered by the wonderful servers, Conor and Caitlin. Couldn't have been better!
I would highly recommend the pickled french fries. So good. Good service and fast.
Really poor service. Food was ok when it came. Chicken was given to the wrong table and we waited 25 mins after everyone else had been served. Not to mention the waiter brought out the biscuit (additional charge) without the chicken....
I went with a group of 4 on a Saturday evening. Our reservation was a bit later in the evening and it seemed the restaurant was slowing down but yet there was a real problem with the timing. I'm a fan of Ethan Stowell restaurants, however, this was a disappointment as the food was either extremely overcooked or very undercooked. The shortribs were dry, the hamburger buns burnt, the hushpuppies burned like a hockey puck, and one of the hamburgers blue raw on the inside. Space and ambiance is nice as was the drink menu. With so many good options in Ballard, it will likely be some time before I give this one another try.
Split several dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them all, plus the specialty drinks and Latin music playing in the background. Very hip, cool place with an open kitchen. Hamburgers are really good.
Only issue was no AC on a terribly hot day, so the restaurant was super warm.
We got a lot of dishes and shared them. Memorable were the steak tartar, Seattle hot wings (oysters), and the fried chicken--really juicy and crunchy, The chocolate chip pan dessert was also awesome. Great place for a fun meal.
Excellent happy hour. Do NOT miss out on the oysters. Incredible - the "Bloody Mary" ice was to die for. Really tasty cocktails. My husband and I ate the fried chicken for dinner. Best I've ever had. I will admit, my friend and I both said we felt too old for this place...something we never feel...we're 50, but are young 50. If you're lacking confidence or are shy, and are older than 26, I might reconsider this spot. The wait staff ignored me for 20 mins. Too busy? Nope...just didn't see us as cool enough to wait on? And at our table a couple of the waitresses were awkward...like they were only used to talking to people under 30. Regardless, food was de-Lish. I'll go back. Kind of fun making the waitresses realize that over 40 can still be cool.
Another great Ethan Stowell restaurant with comfort-type pub food with a twist. The pickle fries are worth trying - I don't know how he got that amazing vinegary taste with such crisp fries. The pea shoot salad was craveable - perfectly dressed, perfect combo of crisp and soft and leafy. Music is great but a little loud.
A great evening with family was topped off by our dinning experience at Bramling Crossing. The service was engaging and knowledgable, ambiance was very comfortable. Delicious flavors in the meals-
