   Food and service were excellent. We were there to celebrate the 70th birthday of one of group members. It was stated on the reservation, told to the hostess that sat us and even told our server. The birthday was never acknowledged. I didn't expect the whole crew to come out and sing happy birthday - but a slice of cake for the birthday member would have been nice... I would definitely recommend this restaurant for their excellent food and service but not sure I would recommend for a life event celebration.

   Service was excellent. We had braised short rib stroganoff, lobster mac and cheese, chicken parm, dinner caesar wedge with chicken & shrimp/grits. All were excellent with doggie bags for the road. The onion soup and pow pow shrimp were outstanding. Highly recommend The Braised Onion. This will definitely be our go-to spot.

   went to Mother's Day (20250 buffet ... six o'clock reservation ... great time to start buffet wasn't picked over at all ... great food ... great drinks ... it costs more but it's worth it at least a couple of times per year ... menu dining is great also ... recommend to all adults ... children likely to be unimpressed

   Mother's Day Brunch. Excellent food. Prime rib, Turkey, Ham at a carving station. Amazing Homemade deserts. Great service, Nice to see the Head Chef come to our table and see how things were. Definitely will dine here again.

   We went to Braised Onion with 2 other couples for Mother's Day. The food was terrific. Nothing was bad. They were constantly bringing out fresh food. Great menu. The waiters were very attentive even with it being a buffet. They never rushed us. It was the best buffet I have ever been to. We all loved the food and had an outstanding time.

   Our first visit to Braised Onion. It is a continuing quest to find a "go to" restaurant in the Ocala area. Firstly, we went the night before Mother's Day. Their parking lot was full...We had to drive around several times "stalking" departing guests. The menu was interesting. I ordered the Wedge Caesar. It missed the mark. I would suggest they pick one or the other. Combining both was a disappointment. For my entre I ordered the short rib stroganoff. It was a large portion and was a shade too salty for my taste. I'm glad I tried it. Not sure I would order again. Service was so so. There is no salt and pepper on the table. Fair enough. However, I have never been to a restaurant without salt and pepper when fresh ground pepper was NOT offered when the salads were delivered. I asked about this and was told we had to request it. Problem is, the person who delivered the salads was NOT our server. I felt his job was to drop the salads off, period. Our server did not appear for me to make the pepper request. I did get an iced tea refill but my wife never got a water refill or was she asked if she wanted a second glass of wine. Granted, these are little things but they do add up. We are NOT snobs. We simply appreciate well prepared and served food in a timely manner. We have been trying out restaurants in the Ocala area since moving here two years ago. We have not found our "go to" higher end restaurant. We will return to Braised Onion. It is obviously doing well without my comments. And we will continue our search...

   We read mixed reviews on this local gem. It was very highly ranked on a few different sites. We were in town for a concert and decided to give it a try. The hostess was very sweet and welcoming. The server was also pleasant and helpful. Our entrees were good. The mashed potatoes were outstanding, and the stroganoff was great too. We didn't like the ranch salad dressing, and the Cobb salad was a bit stale. The ice cream was homemade, it was okay. We expected it to be better than it was...The restaurant could use an update/refresh. It was dark and sparse. There is plenty of parking. All in all it was a nice experience.

    Our family dinner was simply great. Thanks to everyone there and notably Eric. We will always make sure to come by when we are in Ocala.
