   Salmon was raw Racheal was not as attentive as what we have experienced in all our other visits Maybe to many tables for her Seems to make pit stops along the way to us at other tables rather than make contact and go back Waited 8-10 minutes to get any body’s attention about raw fish I’m used to salmon being even served medium but this was raw Next piece we received was a tail pieces to make faster cook time I assume This was by far the worst visit to braised onion and we go fairly frequently some times weekly

   Started off very nice! Felt welcomed and quickly escorted to our seats. Drinks were fine, tasty and arrived in a timely manner. The warm rolls and garlic butter were delicious, and I couldn’t wait for my entree. That is when it went downhill. I ordered the fish and chips. Now I know my seafood, being from NE! The cod was soooo salty, I couldn’t eat it. Also, it was barely cooked thru, and loaded with tiny bones. Of course, not the cook’s fault. The broccoli looked great, but was completely over cooked into mush. The truffle fries were heavily seasoned and just ok. My husband got the evening special of prime rib. He said it was tasty, but overly salty as well. He did eat the baked mashed potatoes, and said they were ok. No vegetable was served with that entree, don’t know why. So a bummer of an anniversary dinner. Probably will not be back. I’ve had much better fish and chips in Crystal River. Almost forgot, had the onion fritters as an appetizer. Interesting combination, they were very deeply fried, to almost burnt in color, but inside rather gelatinous, imo.

   Excellent meal and great staff. The GM, Trevor, has built a stupendous team. We have been in town for past 10 weeks —- Braised Onion is a favorite dining location. All the waiters/waitresses and their support have all been excellent .. Matt, Alex, Desiree, Racheal ….. hope I didn’t miss anyone …. Always a great experience.

   Service was fine. I ordered a filet, which was cooked the way I ordered but the vegetables were luke warm, at best, when served. The rolls were fresh out of the ove and very good.

    Food was unimaginative and serving size was laughably small. Ordered bottle of white wine that was unchilled- had to chill it at table for 20 minutes before we could drink it. Priced like fine dining, but basically upgraded diner experience. Disappointing.

    First time visit pre-theater dinner. Great experience even though we confused our reservation time and arrived early. Hostess was accommodating and we were seated in short order. Eric’s recommendations were spot on! Thank you. Will be back for another meal in the near future.

    Disappointed that I was not informed it was only buffet until we were seated. We were sat by a large table with screaming children and adults that were not trying to quiet them. The buffet seemed to have good things. However, it was set up in a small space with too many people trying to get at things at the same time. Trays were empty, low and asked for butter and never got. Banana cheesecake was frozen. I would not go again. It was our fault for not leaving when we saw where we were seated and that it was only buffet. I would recommend for someone to try it on a non-buffet time.

    My sister and I took our mother for brunch on Mother's Day. The food was very good and our mom really enjoyed it. When booking we didn't know that brunch was the only option but that's possibly because we booked through OpenTable and didn't call. We plan to return in the future to try the regular menu.

    Seated at 7pm. Bread and drinks around 7:30. Appetizer around 8. The fresh bread was good, as was the salad and crab cakes however after an hour it wasn't worth the wait. By 8:20 still no main course. Meal finally served after hour and 40 minutes. Filet was under cooked, asked for medium. Risotto was hard and crunchy. So it took 2 full hours to get done with an undercooked meal. They did take off half the ticket however 54 dollars plus a tip definitely not worth it for bread rolls and crab cake.

    We had a very good meal at the Braised Onion. It was our first time here, wanting to go out to a local restaurant for Mother’s Day. Salads with fresh ingredients and creative dressings. Generously portioned entrees. My pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked, served with green beans and mashed potatoes. DH got the beef stroganoff, which was delicious. Moms grilled chicken and dad’s burger were a tad overcooked. Parmesan French fries were very goodThe ice cream flight was quite tasty. Our server was very attentive. Worth the drive into town and a good value for the price.

    OMG, this was our first-time having dinner at Braised Onion. Dinner was amazingly delicious. Also had the French onion soup, and the bread pudding which was also delicious. I will be back to try the salmon fish dinner and that bread pudding again.

    Excellent food and service by Camden our server. We were seated at a table and requested a booth and they accommodated. We celebrated Morhers Day early and Mom said it’s her favorite restaurant here in Ocala. Crab cakes and homemade ice cream are her favorites! Loved it! Thank you!

    Food was great. My party arrived and we’re seated on time. My only small complain was they were running out of some dishes but being an independent restaurant I can’t fault them for that. Try the strawberry ice cream

    Arrived for lunch with a reservation. Was seated promptly. Food was served in about 20 minutes. We ordered the meatloaf and the special if the day, a country fried chicken. Both were served with mashed potatoes & greenbeans. Both were okay. Service was okay. Prices a bit high for the meals.

    The food was very good, our party of 4 all enjoyed our meals. This restaurant is definitely a try. To the owners - the poor atmosphere does not match your pricing and quality of food. Suggestions - table cloths and seat cushions would go a long way improving atmosphere. The table needs to be cleared at a minimum after each course.

    4 of us celebrated one's birthday. All 4 meals were excellent, service was excellent. They even made the dessert we shared decorative with a candle. We had pork tenderloin, Lobster Mac & cheese, crab cakes, ribeye. Even the whipped butter for the seasoned hot rolls were excellent. It would have been a perfect score except the hard chairs were very uncomfortable. Will wait to be seated at booth or cushioned chairs next time. And one of us wanted to order crab cakes to but they ran out. That was not an issue really.

    It was awesome the food the service a bit noisy bit it was a holiday and it was manageable. We loved it and will be back!! Loved he prime rib the sides,,, grits and mac and cheese WOW!! Deserts loved the strawberry cheesecake and the chocolate desserts. Great experience

    Onion soup was delicious and came out hat. My shrimp and grits were okay but were not warm. The shrimp themselves were of good quality, but the spices were not very good and the polenta was just okay.
