The food was good but not great and we felt it was overpriced. The atmosphere was elegant and the seating was comfortable. The service seemed slow at times. We were going to a show and although we thought we were leaving plenty of time, we barely got out in time to make it. Restrooms are located on the floor above. Although there is an elevator, this seemed rather inconvenient.
We had a wonderful dinner for six (including two children) prior to a performance at Heinz Hall.
The restaurant revamped the menu. I was skeptical but it was actually very good. The Clemente sandwich was amazing.
This was our first time eating here. Too expensive and small menu. I do not believe we will be returning for another dinner here. Sorry, just not our style...or price.
A favorite whenever I’m downtown. A little pricey for the value.
I selected this restuarant to celebrate my Wife's Birthday with a nice quite dinner. Our waiter Skyler was excellent and very courteous. When I return I will ask for him specifically.
Excellent salad with salmon. Waiter was very attentive.
Very nice meal. Restaurant was slow that day, but the service was very good.
Great quiet spot for a business lunch. Good food. Good service.
Server was very personable and accommodating. We had three children with us and the chef was able to make them something off menu. It’s a little pricey but everything we ate was delicious and we had a great experience.
Enjoyed new fresh menu. Innovative cocktail menu pays homage to Pittsburgh heritage. Excellent service , give Justin and his helpers atta boys for job well done!
Good food. Nice atmosphere
The staff was very attentive and the food was amazing, especially the soup of the day!
Amazing tasty everything. It was worth every penny.
Perfect place to eat if you're also going to see a show at either Heinz Hall or the Benedum. Valet parking makes it easy to park, eat and enjoy your evening. Food was delicious. I had the salmon and my husband had the scallops. Would highly recommend either entree.
I was visiting from out of town and was very glad we found Braddocks! The scallops were the best I have ever had. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The menu seemed to be updated seasonally. Would return when I am back in the Pittsburgh area.
We booked a table for 4 pm. It was our anniversary.....when we arrived, no one was in the restaurant. We were promptly seated and our waiter came over to assist us. He started by saying that the menu is about to change so there was little he could tell us about the food...which we found odd. Anyway we ordered the fried mac and cheese balls to start...they were quite tasty. My wife ordered the pork tenderloin and I ordered the beef short rib. My rib appeared, a hefty portion for sure...sort of like beef stew, without the stew. Unfortunately, the food had virtually no flavor, so after a few dashes of salt and pepper I tucked in. Overall, it was nice, but not really worth the $80 bill (we each had a drink too). As we were the only ones in the place the ambiance was a bit empty...cold in fact.
Second time there, just fabulous food and great atmosphere and service. Highly recommend the dual pork dish, just delicious! All meals were delicious! We'll be back when come back to Pittsburgh!
Excellent food in a very nice environment...varied, eclectic menu and great ambiance. We especially liked the entree salads and the pork duo - yummy!
Great food, great service, 100% would go back again.
Chosen chicken and scallop entrees were very good. Variety of appetizer and dessert selections to choose from. Service was excellent.
This is my third visit and it was just okay. I keep wanting it to be better than it actually is. The meat charcuterie appetizer looked like it could have come from Costco; the drinks were fine but pricey. The lobster gnocchi was just okay. Service was fine, ambiance comfortable. But for the money I don't really think it's worth it.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. A little pricey for the meal. Wish it included a salad for the price. But I will definitely return!
All solidly good, but not great or particularly creative.
The food tastes like an upscale Swanson microwave dinner, very disappointing.
going to show @ heinz hall; waiter kept disappearing; other wait staff & hostess standing around doing nothing; terrible service waited 20 minutes for drinks; food was greasy & mediocre; resturant manager came by twice with same excuse ie crowd came before show @ heinz hall; didn’t offer to buy drink or food item; scratch that off the list
The service was slightly slow but the food was very good. The pierogi could have been cooked slightly longer as they has a bit too much tooth, but, the scallops we're absolutely perfect.
Drinks were great - food good as well - price point a bit high on the whole...
We've been going to Braddock's for several years and always found it acceptable, sometimes great. The rehab a few years ago, adding more booths, was an upgrade. But lately the prices have gone up to a point I am reluctant to pay. Salads are approaching $10, appetizers are all over $10 and main courses are mostly in the $30+ range. The food is very good, but not knock-you-socks-off great which is what I expect for those prices. Our server said their is a new chef in the kitchen who plans a complete redo of the menu. So I'll try it once more to see how he changes things.
Delicious food & great service!
More expensive than Open Table says it is. Food was very good.
great place before the Pirate game.....waiter was very attentive and food was good....thank you
All was better than good, but not fantastic. The service was very attentive and nice. The food was a mixed bag. Avoid the corn risotto. Deserts were not great. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The appetizers were excellent.
We were in the city celebrating a birthday and stayed at the hotel. This restaurant is located inside the Renaissance Hotel and that made it so convenient to have a nice dinner before heading to the theater. Our meals were tasty and the service was very good. They offered a free birthday dessert, but since I'm unable to eat desserts with my dietary restrictions, they gave me a free glass of wine! We had eaten here before with a friend who is vegetarian and she was able to find something on the menu that she enjoyed.
Delicious menu! Waiter was attentive, but not intrusive. We were a little bit on the clock due to symphony tickets, and everything worked out to perfection! Great for conversation, as it's not loud! Very nice.
A wonderful place to dine before a concert or theater.
The BEST waitress, Autumn, who always makes our dining special.
Wonderful meal! I'd go back just for the beet salad with fried goat cheese. The filet was wonderful and my 10 year old niece ate every bite. My mom had salmon that was excellent. Service was pleasant and efficient...and what's not to love about the Renaissance??!?
Not the run of the mill Pgh. restaurant. There are some creative dishes, i.e. pork duo, beet goat cheese salad and others. The sweet potato hash is outstanding. The service is attentive and cheerful and the food is reasonably priced.
The wine list needs updated. The 2006 Chateauneuf-du-Pape ended up being the 2014 Cotes du Rhone and a 2013 Napa Cabernet came out as a 2015 California Cabernet; only the wineries were the same. I felt the price mark-up for wine by the bottle or glass is too high. For example, $16 for a glass of wine that sells retail in PA at $19 or $88 for a bottle that retails at $29.
The atmosphere is very good and it close to cultural district events and parking lots. I would return here for dinner.
Braddock’s is our favorite restaurant in the cultural district. Consistently great food and good service! I am always surprised that it does not attract more diners. It really is a hidden gem!
The service was just terrible. We sat for 20 mins before our drink order was taken. I had to practically body tackle the waiter to get him to stop and offer refills. Even catching his eye didn’t work. He would just keep on moving. Our glasses stood empty half the time.
The food was mediocre, at best, and thoroughly disappointing, at worst. The duo of pork looked like it was tossed on the plate by a prison cook. The portions were unacceptable for the price.
The cocktails were okay. Overpriced, but not outrageously so.
We won’t be back. There are far better options closeby.
