I googled brunch places and this restaurant came up. Assuming brunch was served until 2 I made a reservation at 12. We arrived and the were ending brunch service so we had to order if the lunch menu which we were disappointed about. The lunch menu wasn't appealing to our party of 6 but we ordered anyway. We were one if maybe 3 tables in there and food took 40 minutes. Coffee was luke warm like it was still from breakfast service. We had 2 kids in the party and the waiter brought over crayons after food was delivered which I found odd after waiting 40 minutes for entrees.
I started with the beet salad, which was good. The fried goat cheese added an interesting texture, albeit my preference would be for plain goat cheese. My entree was the crab cakes. While the presentation was lovely, the crab cakes were unexceptional and I found that the aioli sauce too bland to complement the crab cakes.
I have been to Braddock's several times and this was the first time that I would say that the food and service were inconsistent.
My pork tenderloin with pork belly was novel and very flavorful. Service was pleasant, helpful and courteous. Venue was very nice located adjacent to the lobby of a historic hotel.
Broadway Musical and special dinner
Attended the Easter Brunch this was our second time. We like the wide variety of items that are offered from breakfast favorites, omelet station, carving station, salad bar even a pierogi station. Plenty to choose from and desserts galore. Great service in a unique environment.
We enjoyed our Easter Brunch very much. Food was delicious with a large variety. Our server , Mike was very good and attentive. Will definitely recommend to others.
Very good, but they cut back on the selection for the Easter brunch
Our meals were excellent, staff very friendly. We appreciated the attention to details that many restaurants miss.
I am recommending this restaurant. The employees were very accommodating and friendly. The food was excellent. I haven't had food so well-seasoned in years. For attending a show at the Byham Theatre, this is the place to go first.
A glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay wine was $15.00 ? Steaks were over cooked.
Delicious! We love eating at Braddock’s before or after a show!
We had our 10th Anniversary dinner here. It was a wonderful experience. Justin, our server, went out of his way to make our evening special. He was kind and accommodating. Tony also helped make our evening special by recommending a delicious wine to pair with our dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. A wonderful experience.
Nice experience at Braddock's. The server was knowledgeable and friendly, there was no wait for a table on Sat. night, and the menu wasn't huge but had a nice variety. Kinda weird that you have to go to the hotel second floor to find a bathroom. With an appetizer, two entrees, whiskey flight, cocktail and beers the bill was about $200 so this was an expensive dinner for us but it was a special occaision so we were willing to splurge. Quality of food and drinks was great. We also had the Sunday brunch the next morning, as we were staying in the hotel. Great brunch! The spread wasn't spectacular but everything I tried was very well done and delicious.
Wonderful breakfast! It was a close walk to our hotel. Food was amazing and menu had a lot of variety (also had a breakfast buffet).
Service was friendly, prompt, and professional. Waitress wanted to know if we had a theater deadline - we didn't. The food was outstanding, especially the asparagus (not overcooked and limp or mushy as it often is). One desert for the two of us was delicious.
Overall, it was very tasty. The service was very attentive. My only gripe was that drinks were too expensive. $15 is too much.
Food was good, service was okay.
I strongly recommend the mussels and frites. Mussels mariniere are plump, juicy - in fact, the largest I’ve ever seen. The mariniere presentation is a personal favorite but ask for extra bread to sop up the broth.
Great food and friendly efficient service. One of the best restaurants in the district. Great pre-concert destination.
Excellent food and great personalized service. Was an unexpected pleasure. Because restaurant was chosen because it was one of few open at the time. Will definitely return.
GREETED BY TONY , THE GENERAL MANAGER WHOM GAVE US A WONDERFUL HISTORY
OF THE BEAUTIFUL AND CLASSIC LOCATION . BOTH TONY AND SUPER CAPTAIN JUSTIN HELPED US GREATLY WITH MENU SELECTIONS . PREPARATIONS WERE PERFECT , SERVICE OUTSTANDING AND ENVIROMENT WAS AWESOME . WE WILL BE RETURNING IN THE NEAR FUTURE , IT IS SURE NOW ONE OF OUR VERY TOP FAVORITES....." THANKS TONY AND JUSTIN "....CHUCK RUNZO...
I have a garlic allergy so it's tough to find something I can eat on menus. The server grabbed the chef and brought him to my table. Together the chef and I built a lovely meal for me. It tasted great and my stomach was fine afterwards. The only trouble we had was we were eating dinner before the theater. The waiter was slow to bring the check. So I was not able to pay with my credit card and had to leave cash on the table and leave as I barely had enough time to make it to the theater before the show started.
Was happy to find this restaurant through the OpenTable app. The food was excellent along with the service. I will recommend to all my friends and family.
Pre dinner show. Justin the server was fantastic and very helpful in recommendations.
We were very happy with our experience. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and everyone went out of their way to make it special!
The service was very good but the food wasn't anything special. The steak was very plain but the seafood pasta my fiancee had was good. I'd try the bar again but the restaurant left something to be desired.
Atmosphere is great, food delicious especially the pierogis and wait staff is very attentive
Great food and service. Was able to valet park and go to theater
Stunning. Food was amazing, drinks were out of this world! Tony G. is a truly wonderful manager. Really knows his stuff and anything of the area!
My daughter and I ate at Braddock's for the first time Sunday for dinner. We went for a pre-show dinner as we had tickets to the Benedum. The service was excellent, the atmosphere of the restaurant was great and the food was outstanding. We will be sure to visit Braddock's again for another great meal.
I am not a big fan of hotel Restaurants. They lack ambiance and never have a great vibe. It would have been nice if this had identified itself as such. I will say this, the waiter was great. Good recommendations, great personality. He made the meal. The food was good but not great. Nothing really disappointed but it didn’t wow me (except maybe the desert). The only thing that wasn’t up to snuff was the sweet potatoes, to me they were underdone. They were not soft . Maybe that was the chefs intent. The whole experience was also fairly long for a lunch, close to 2 hours.
If you are looking for a meal where spending time with friends is the best part and time doesn’t matter, This would be a good choice. If you are looking for a great dinner before a show. You may not make it before the curtain goes up.
Decent food for moderate price. Order from menu don’t do Sunday breakfast buffet.
Braddock's American Brasserie is a great restaurant in close proximity to the Pittsburgh Theater District. We like to go there before a show knowing we can make a reservation and have a nice dinner in a cozy setting. Some of the downtown restaurants don't take reservations and trying to get in on a Saturday night in time to make a show is impossible. Braddock's has a nice menu with a variety of meals to choose. Drinks are good, too! I particularly like the fish and chips, which is a very reasonable price. We will keep going back to Braddocks!
Fantastic food! Wonderful waiter! Just an outstanding meal!
Restaurant is in the Renaissance Hotel and is close to the Byham Theater, both very historical. Open seating limits ambiance but food and service were good.
We had the most wonderful server, Gabriel. Although the food was very good, he made our evening memorable.
Was really looking forward to this as the reviews were mostly positive. The hotel is stunning, and the dining room is attractive. But the first impressions were quickly changed. The wine list was extremely disappointing from the below average, grocery store selections to the extreme mark ups- $15 retail makes it $66 on this wine list? Menu was interesting and the execution of our meals was adequate. Service was slow, even though the dining room was only half full. Not a glowing recommendation.
6:15 reservation - 8:00 pm symphony - food not served until 7:40 pm!
Red wine was sour and warm.
