The food was good but the service was poor. It took 20 minutes before our drink orders wee taken. Service improved a little as the meal went on. Seemed like they were short staffed

Our waiter, Justin, was wonderful. We had limited time and let him know up front. He got us fed with time to spare. Also, he was just super nice and efficient. The food was great, too!

We had a lovely time and a great meal at the Braddock Brasserie before going next door to the Byham Theater. The food was fabulous, but the kitchen was slow in getting our meals out, and we ended up having to rush to make the 8:00 curtain. Our server was wonderful but the kitchen let her down. One other thing: I tried hard to get the attention of the Valet parking guys, to no avail. I ended up having to park far away and walk in. I was not happy about that because I had chosen the restaurant specifically to use the valet parking for an elderly relative who does not walk well.

There have been some reviews that made us hesitant to try this place out, but we overcame those hesitations and wanted to get away from our normal listing of places to eat. For the most part, people dressed a little more upscale than I was expecting. Even in a casual dress and heels I felt a tad bit underdressed for a place that claims casual attire is okay. Our table had a few if the appetizers, including the beef tartar, pierogies, kielbasa board, and frites. Everything was delicious. Well done, perfectly cooked. Because we are the appetizer menu, we split the gnocchi and lobster. The lobster was perfect in every way. The gnocchi was slightly charred from the pan fry but still amazingly well done.

My only complaint is the drink menu was not extensive (they are going for a bourbon whiskey theme...and not a favorite for my tastebuds...i wanted some different offerings and for the crowd that was in the restaurant. I was hoping a larger wine or spirits menu...they do have a full bar though). Also, the noise from the libby can be obscene. They either should shut the dining area doors or something.

The service was good. Our waitress was busy and spread thin but she still took care of us.

All in all...it is worth a shot. It is a good restaurant, and I look forward to another visit in the near future.

Dinner was good. However we arrived about 15 minutes late.... the restaurant was just about empty and we were marked as a no- show on open table! Would like to see that changed on our record.

The potato gnocchi and lobster was excellent. I ordered the small portion and still had to have the leftovers wrapped. Our family ordered the cheese plate- unique and tasty. Vegetarian daughter had the seasonal squash- which she enjoyed ( not very many veg options, though). Definitely plan at least an hour if you are going to the theater - service was attentive, friendly, informative, but the food came a little slowly.

I think this place was overrated as a four star place. Food was pretty good not great and overpriced. Although our group did like the Cajun flatiron w sweet mashed taters! I'd go again if someone else paid for it

My wife and I made reservations for an upscale dinner before a show at the Byham. The menu looked great. Nice selection of wine, cocktails, and local beers, as well. But the food itself was inedible. My wife and I never leave food on our plates, but we walked away with half of the food still on the table. The mussels were sizeable, but varied in doneness (some were cooked, others were quite undercooked - all tasted "fishy"). The cheese plate was poor - most of which we didn't finish because they simply weren't good. And more importantly, the server didn't even tell us what everything on the plate was (cheeses, sauces, etc.). Extremely disappointed in the experience. Not all meals are good, and obviously you take a risk when trying something new. But at a place as nice (and as expensive) as this, I would expect the food to at least be decent.

Fantastic! Got a cheese plate, which was absolutely delicious and gave great variety. Ordered dinners off the bar menue which is significantly better priced than the main menue. Soup was very flavorful and delicious.

Food was ok. A little inconsistent among our four meals. Steak, very good; pasta not so much...We also didn’t allow enough time to get to our show. Leave enough time If you have any after dinner plans!

In a food landscape that is rich, creative and inspired, Braddocks ranks as average. Typical fare, good service, pricey because it is in a hotel and downtown. If you are seeing a show and want a convenient location, this is it. If you are dining out for any other reason, there is better food (our dishes were all served incorrect with missing ingredients and overcooked) at many places in Pittsburgh. The bright spot in the place is there are great servers and the ambiance is ok.

This years Thanksgiving 2017 meal was horrible. The food had absolutely zero taste. Almost like dining at a nursing home. I dined here for Thanksgiving of 2016 and it was fantastic! The food was well prepared and very flavorful. Each table also received their own turkey with leftovers to take home after dinner. I only returned this year because my experience in past was so amazing. Looks like it will be the Capital Grill for Thanksgiving 2018.

Waitress was excellent but the seats were a little uncomfortable. Host sat us earlier than our reservation was scheduled for so it may have been our earliness that got us in an uncomfortable seat. All in all, guest service was exceptional!

The food was absolutely fantastic (ordered pierogies, duck, pork belly) and the cocktails were great. There is a bar menu with stardard priced bar fare and a restaurant menu that ran around $30 per plate. Overall we had a great experience, but the place was pretty quiet for a Saturday night. For the food alone, I highly recommend this place.

Came here pre Pops Concert and was very pleased with the food and beverages. My husband loved the signature drink "the chief". We started off with the short rib pierogis...yum. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie plate. (Have to agree with the previous review-not presented well). I loved the beet and goat cheese salad. I also had the lobster and gnocchi with asparagus and peas. Every last bite was tasty. The cappuccino hit the spot with the mousse and brownie in a Mason jar we shared. Our waiter was very personable but a bit rushed.

We were going to a nearby theater and thought this would be convenient and we were able to get a last minute reservation.

We were the only ones there on our arrival. My wine was excellent as well as my house salad. The short rib pierogis were a little dried out but the sauce was tasty. My husband's meal of salmon and succotash appeared overdone and dry. Overall, the food was nothing special.

How can a restaurant like Braddock's run out of Filet Mignon? The whole reason I selected Braddock's was to have a Filet. While they substituted a ribeye (which was very well prepared), is there really a substitute for Filet?

A bit of a let down. Chose because fairly close to my hotel. It should have been made clearer that this is a restaurant inside the Renaissance Hotel.
Food just ok, wine by the glass way over-priced. Dining room was cavernous, dark and empty.
Wait staff was great though and place has potential to be good.

I planned a surprise dinner for my girlfriend's birthday and everything went very well. We went at Friday around 6pm and it was not busy at all. The hotel lobby where the restaurant is was gorgeous, although the restaurant itself was a little tricky to find since it is separated from the main bar. It was Pittsburgh Restaurant Week and they provided a special menu for that. The food was above average and the prices were good. In addition to the food, the cocktail and bar menu was pretty good and reasonably priced. While not my favorite downtown restaurant, it was good for a group since it wasn't too loud and spacious for everyone. I would certainly recommend before a sporting event if you want something that is better than bar food. They also had a little candle on the dessert for my girlfriend's birthday which was a nice touch!

We went for brunch and the menu had a lot of variety. Reuben sandwich was enormous and very tasty. The breakfast buffet was good except the pierogies were dry and overdone. The omelet station was unattended for 10 minutes despite numerous staff noticing me standing there. Then after finding the hostess it was another 5 minutes before chef appeared. When I finally got my omelet it was very good. Our waiter was wonderful!

Diner at the Braddock American Brasserie was very nice. The space was traditionally appointed as an American Inn, booth was comfortable. The service was friendly and efficient, letting us enjoy our meal like a local "yinzer". The menu was thoughtful and creative, specials were a taste of the future menu which promises to be even more current. Roasted pheasant and veal were very carefully crafted. Perogies savory appetizers and, yes, sweet dessert were excellent. A half order of Charcuterie was excellent and enough for four as an app. It is well worth the trip downtown to enjoy a meal here.
Sadly a rain delay at the Pirates game brought a crowd into the lobby, including a father who allowed many screaming children to play wiffle-ball there, this was not dealt with in a timely manner by managerial staff. Pre-dinner cocktail Prosecco was old and flat and returned.
Despite these minor issues the night was enjoyable.
