Bowery Bungalow’s menu is a modern homage to the cuisine of the Levantine, North Africa, Anatolia & the Mediterranean.
It is the first of this concept to enter into the culinary playground of Los Angeles. George Abou- Daoud's creative menu revolves around farm-to-table modern Mideast cuisine focused on the rich traditional flavors of the region and its environs.
Love love love this place. While I hope they remain successful, I hope they don't get TOO popular. :)
Yum! Is always awesome. We love this place so much
Love this place. It is consistently good food. Great for a date night, girls night, birthday gathering...anything! Easily becoming a local fav.
Loved this place! Every item we ordered was excellent and unique, a California twist to middle eastern food, so healthy and tasty. The ambiance was superb, super cute outdoor patio, comfy lounge area and booth/table seating in a small converted CA bungalow dropped in Morocco. A new favorite.
Brunch was just ok compared to the exceptional dinner service. May do brunch again but prefer dinner. Will for sure
We ordered several dishes, they were all delicious , however the portions were smaller than I expected.
The food was amaaaaaazing!!!
We arrived at 9:20 on a Sunday night a little concerned that their dinner service would be ending at 9:45, but the waitstaff was really friendly and helpful in making sure we got our food order in while not making us feel rushed. Excellent food that's full of unique, intense flavors. The four of us got the coffee rubbed ribs, the fried branzino, slow cooked lamb, turmeric fried rice, babaganoush, and potatoes in yogurt feta cream.
Great Mediterranean food. Warm service. Great atmosphere. Flavors and textures of the dishes are wonderful, very well composed. Middle Eastern (Turkish) coffee was great.
The Bowery has become our favorite local restaurant! The food is super tasty and interesting without becoming too adventurous it's just perfect! With great service and brilliant ambiance we'll back time and again. Big portions for a sharing style dinner.. you won't leave hungry!
Have to try the babaganoush. The service was on point and the food absolutely delicious.
Super cute restaurant in what looks like a house. Great beers on tap. The server let me sample one before ordering. We shared food, and the share portions are great! We were there early, and then it filled up! Will be back!
Beyond rude staff from the second you enter. Service at Denny's is better. Average food at best. One acceptable appetizer, bruschetta. DO NOT ORDER THE RIBS!! The noise level is defining.
Don't waste your time or money at Bowery Bungalow!!
Great hidden place. Flavors were on point. Would def go back.
Really cute local place. Great service and fantastic food.
A local gem! Longtime LA restaurateur George Abou-Daoud has nailed it, with an incredibly creative and delicious menu of truly unique dishes reflecting his and the area's rich cultural heritage, in a wonderfully home-style setting. Great value, too, with a very reasonably priced wine list, and the service excels as well. My wife and I went there with another couple that had never gone and all four of us can't wait to return.
One of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. I always bring people from out of town. <3
We were celebrating a milestone. Six people, three meat eaters, one vegetarian, two pescatarians. Plenty for everyone. The fish eaters LOVED the fish that came in a little glass jar. The cauliflower was fantastic and the spicy potatoes were delicious. Our waiter, Tim, was the best. A really wonderful evening.
Loved it and I will be returning no doubt. It feels special and like an experience. Memorable flavors.
What a little gem. Drive by this restaurant almost everyday and always wanted to try it. Finally, decided to go with friends before going to a show. From the time you walk in you are met with pure warmth. The host and servers were very friendly and knowledgable. Simply quaint with an eclectic flair. The outdoor patio was a surprise since it made you forgot that you were in bustling Silver Lake. The food was absolutely wonderful and flavorful. Everything we had was exceptional. The couscous was huge and could be shared with at least six people. The beef cheek was so tender, it melted in your mouth. The saffron Mussels fantastic. Will I be back? Most definitely.
The food and service were exceptional! The only drawback was the noise level. Hard to have conversation between the four of us...often needed to ask someone to repeat what they said or to speak up.
Our first visit to the little gem around the corner from our house- The blue crab poached eggs were superb and we especially enjoyed the goats cheese French toast. Our server was very helpful and friendly and we loved the eclectic ambiance and music playing. Will be retuning, for sure.
Very cute place and the food was some of the best I've had!
Best food I have had in Los Angels in a long time! Not fru fru food - real, wholesome perfectly seasoned -tastes like home cooked food. I will go back as soon as I can!
Absolutely a great eclectic dining experience! Food was outstanding and the service as well.
Yum! I had given up thinking I could get a really good glass of wine with my food in Sunset Junction until I FINALLY made it to Bowery this week. The food was solid (had a tasty though slightly cloying beef cheek gnocchi dish) and a DELICIOUS lamb "sandwich". Baba ganoush was tasty and made more interesting with a refreshingly piquant/spicy-ish addition of shishito peppers (NOM!). Bartender was super friendly, knew the menu items, and let us taste a few wines. We got one sip of a very tasty Cab they'd run out of (Sparkman from Columbia Valley) and tasted an interesting Pinot Noir (La Follette). A Malbec was good w/ the beef tongue, and a bordeaux was big and yummy with the lamb sando. WILL GO BACK.
Best food and Environment.
I LOVE this restaurant! Food is amazing. I really recommend the hummus with beef cheek and the cous cous!!!
Romantic. Scrumptious. Intimate. This restaurant is the perfect date place.
The bad-Table was not ready for about 10 minutes beyond our reservation time, and booth seats were super uncomfy. The good-service was great. Food was good, interesting with some local ingredients. Funky atmosphere. Only wine and beer, not a full bar. Family style ordering. Cool Silver Lake spot.
Loved the ambience. Very cute. The blue crab benedict was divine. The salad that came with it had a weird dressing on it, though. Too sour/salty for me.
Bowery Bungalow is one of my favorite restaurants in Silverlake. I am a BIG Mediterranean food lover, and I can say, without hesitation, that their baba ganoush is the best I have had anywhere. I adore their fried cauliflower with dukkah so much that I have attempted to replicate it at home. Service is great, and you will get a lovely lentil soup starter just for sitting down. Big props to this small neighborhood gem of a restaurant!
Needed to catch up with a colleague. The compelling environment, warm knowledgeable service and delicious food was great. The ribs were a delight.
This is my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles! The food is fresh and healthy; there is a good selection of wine and beer; and the ambiance is perfect for a relaxing evening.
Silverlakes's gem. Thoughtful Mediterranean fusion menu perfect for sharing. Modestly priced wine list that doesn't disappoint. Beef cheek humus is a must! Yas.
Definitely adding this place to my favorites list. Super cute and eclectic decor. Food is AMAZING, great for sharing. Can't wait to come back during the summer and eat on the patio.
Best food and patio
This place is great! Hidden gem with a homey atmosphere and incredible food. Not the first time we've been here and it certainly won't be the last!
The food is wonderful.
