Bowdies Chophouse - Saugatuck
Reagan our server was awesome
We had a great time
It is a bit pricey believe it
My husband and I went there for our anniversary and it was amazing! The food the chef mike is putting out there is melt in your mouth delicious. Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Chelsea was our server and she was great at recommending the right dishes for us and was extremely sweet. We throughly felt spoiled and it was perfect to place to celebrate.
Outstanding as usual. Food was perfect and so was Chelsea our waitress!
Always an amazing experience!
A SPECIAL PLACE: A five star+ restaurant with EXCELLENT staff, the best filet steak you can find anywhere, with a cozy ambiance.
The Bowdie Manhattan is unique and worth the $20 price (at least a double).
Melanie and staff treat you special. Call for reservations days in advance or you will be disappointed that there are no tables available.
In our opinion, the TOP RESTAURANT in Saugatuck...where there are several great options.
Jerry & Mary Hunsburger - Holland, MI
Bowie,s never disappoints!
Delicious meal and great service, but got very loud sitting by the bar.
Bowdies always has amazing food and service. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and my Manhattan was excellent!
Wonderful food!!! Definitely more pricey than I am used to but the food was better than I’ve ever had! Our service was fantastic as well. The waitress was making sure we weren’t ordering too much food and wasting our money. Normally they would try to sell you more! Great experience and we will definitely be back.
Great food and service in a fun place.
Melanie always does a great job, as well as the entire team.
Great place, fun, Kenton top shelf
Bowdies is always great! Probably the best Chophouse in West Michigan.
Everything was fantastic. Steaks perfect, service wonderful!
First, We have eaten several times at Bowdies and our expectations had always been surpassed, but our last visit on April 29 was very disappointing. We are willing to try again someday... REALLY hope this was a fluke and not the norm going forward. The dinner on the 29th was to celebrate my wife's birthday. We ordered drinks, shrimp cocktail, Wedge salads, Kansas City steak, salmon, and au-gratin potatoes... desert was creme brulee. The shrimp cocktail had so much horse radish my wife could not eat it, her salmon as well as my steak were rare/under cooked (ordered medium on salmon/medium rare on steak), the potatoes were burnt, and the creme brulee caramelizing process was lacking (center only caramelized). The waitstaff apologized several times and comped some of the meal which was a nice gesture. Even with the comp, the meal totaled lover $150 and our birthday celebration fell flat. Not sure why the food quality fell well below expectations for Bowdies . Again, willing to try again and hope the experience is not repeated - otherwise we will be in search of another fine dining restaurant.
This was our first time here. Great location.
Kendall our waiter was AWESOME!!! Very knowledgeable about the menu and explained everything in detail.
Steaks, sides and oh yes deserts were phenomenal!!
Will definitely be coming back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor dining that they offer.
Celebrated our wedding anniversary here. Very quaint. Delicious food. Loved our server. We'll be back! Just a note, it's very loud.
As normal - Bowdies never ceases to please!
We are Saugatuck locals and enjoy Bowdie's every year on our girl's weekend! The staff is friendly and professional and the food never disappoints! Our favorites are the truffle fries and the filet and of coarse the cocktails and wine!
One of the best rib-eyes and shrimp bisque here. Awesome friendly staff all the way from being greeted at the front door to the exec chef . Excellent service on all levels guys!
First timers to this establishment, came here for our 10th anniversary dinner. Excellent food, great atmosphere, not too loud and was able to hold a conversation. Prepare to shell out some $$$ though! The menu was limited, but everything we dined on was delicious. Would definitely return for another special occasion. Thanks Bowdies!
Bowdie's in truly a hidden gem in Saugatuck. It's adorable inside, they take their cocktails seriously, and most important - the food is always exquisite. We live in Chicago and think Bowdie's steaks easily compete with (if not dominate) some of the best steaks Chicago can offer. Combine that with the friendliness of Saugatuck and what you have is a meal and spot you'll go back to again and again. To top it all of, this time they had a mushroom soup that blew our minds - it was so, so delicious that for the first time in my life, I worked up the never to request the recipe. Chef Mike came out after a bit and happily offered it to us, with the caveat of course that he can't always give out his recipes. BUT that fact that he took the time to type it up and present it exemplifies how far the staff at Bowdie's are willing to go to make sure that every meal is special, even if there's no special occasion for being there. We will definitely be back.
Food is excellent service is wonderful. We drove from Indianapolis just so I could have Bowdies for my birthday dinner. Its always great food and atmosphere!!
Great food and service
Love it every time!
Awesome food and incredible service.
Our waiter was amazing! The steak was divine. Absolutely perfect date evening!
We had a wonderful evening! Bowdies never disappoints!
Melanie was efficient and friendly! It’s always my favorite place to have dinner with friends and this was no exception!
We will be back!
Our first experience in Saugatuck and a wonderful anniversary dinner at Bowdie’s! It was the highlight of our weekend get away! Well, the sunset from our hotel room was nothing short of spectacular but as far as food (bone-in filet), service and portion size.... all were big & the best flavor & tender steak I’ve had in a long time! The huge portion of seared broccoli was impressive & extremely tasty! Did I mentioned the dark chocolate brownie? And the delightful staff?! All worth mentioning! Highly recommend Bowdie’s!
Great dining experience. Excellent food and service.
Rustic, food was problematic however graciously addressed by our server and the chef. Just not our type of chophouse.
Best steak in the world!
Everything was delicious as usual. It was my daughter’s birthday and she enjoyed the treat.
We’ve been here a number of times but it’s the first time I didn’t have steak (which is amazing). I had the chicken and it was delicious. We also had the cheesecake which was some of the best I’ve ever had. Portions are always huge and they allow you to split/share portions.
The food was excellent. The server was very pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. This is super minor but for what we spent I thought it was odd. Our table was uneven And was wobbly. Would be nice if there were more craft beer options.
Perfect meal! Wonderful service! Great choice for special occasions or just when you want the best steak in West Michigan!
Absolutely amazing food & wonderful service 😁 our favorite Steakhouse ever!!!!
We celebrated at Bowdies for my husband's birthday. The ambiance of the restaurant was intimate and great. The tables are a little tight, but not stifling. The service was personable and impeccable from the host to the bus boy to the wait staff.
The shrimp cocktail was tasty. The horseradish kick was a fun element.
We got the tomahawk chop despite the wait staff warning that it was for those that wanted the 'wow factor'. The steak was tasty and the wait staff cut it into portions tableside.
We should have order the ribeye and filet though. The tomahawk was fine, but just not as tasty as we wanted it to be.
The Creme Brulee was amazing as it was served in a soup bowl. So yummy.
We really enjoyed Bowdies and will be back for the filet, ribeye and creme brulee!
The food was excellent, our server was great!
Our server, Daniel and her support staff were amazing. We started with the shrimp bisque, then we moved to the ceasar salad. Both were off the charts good.
We chose the Cowboy cut ribeye which was done to perfection. We teamed that up with the lobster mac and cheese, delicious. Although, the option of adding an extra tail would make this a great choice for cocktails and appetizer for two.
If the price scares you a little. Try splitting an entree
My wife and I split our meal and still took some home.
We plan on sitting at the bar for our next visit. The bartender seems to be very entertaining
Thanks for a lovely anniversary dinner.

We went for our anniversary celebration dinner. Wonderful night!
