Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We selected the Ranch as a tradition to celebrate our anniversary. Everything about this place is memorable. On the night that we were there, the waiter actually made the biggest positive impression on us for his sense of humor, his outstanding service, his impeccable sense of timing, and his remarkable ability to find a balance between being absent when we wanted to be alone and magically appearing when we required service. Of course, the food was brilliant, as always, and the drinks were amazing, though marked up too high in my opinion. I photograph the cocktail list because they're so delicious to replicate at home.
We were out with friends. Great spot to eat great food and visit. We definitely weren't rushed and the setting is quite stunning. It was a little noisy in the room and with a wedding on lots of action and kids around the area but not in our section. The service and food was excellent.
Overall it was a good experience. The location was lovely. The food was good quality. Did find the options were a bit limited. I had the French Toast which was quite good but perhaps I was expecting more from this kind of restaurant. Husband had the steak and said it was done perfectly. Food was quite pricey for what it was.
Visited this restaurant twice this year. First in June (on the balcony) for the occasion of our anniversary, and this week for my Wife's birthday. The ambiance, service and excellent meal made this the perfect place to celebrate. I hope to be back soon and give the Bow Valley Restaurant top marks.
A lovely brunch in a beautiful and historic building. There is an art garden just beside the Ranche which is worth a visit after your meal. The staff are friendly and attentive. They brought a birthday treat for my mother in law when they overheard us wishing her a happy birthday which was a very nice touch.
This is a beautiful restaurant - inside and out - in such a peaceful park setting. And yet is in the city - a little gem. The food is exceptional and always well presented.
We have never been disappointed by meals that have been prepared. And we have been blessed by professional service. We would not hesitate to recommend it to others for special events or just an enjoyable meal with family or friends.
We were informed that our lunch order got forgotten as there was a larger group in the restaurant. Our waiter apologized for the delay which we greatly appreciated. When the food did arrive it was excellent and we were served crème brulee for dessert on the house. Our waiter did an outstanding job in explaining the situation and letting us know about the delay. It was a very nice touch to receive a very tasty dessert for our patience.
We will be returning again.
It was our first visit to Bow valley Ranche. We had been given a gift card to go. I didn't realize there was such a great little gem hidden away so close by us. The Staff were great From when we first arrived until we left. Food and location was awesome. We will definitely go back and highly recommend it
Over all our dinner was amazing. I was just a little annoyed about not being informed of a large wedding happening. When we first arrived we had to work our way through a maze of wedding guests to get inside. Once we were at our table everything just went uphill. Great food, great wine, great service. I will definitely be back!
Went for a small baby shower lunch. (4ppl) the place itself is beautiful. The patio is so nice in the summer. The service we received was very slow. Reservation was 12.30....we didn't get our food until 1.40. Disappointing service all around...but hopefully just a one off.
My wife's birthday dinner at the Bow Valley Ranch Restaurant on August 22nd was our first time there, even though my wife grew up in Calgary, and played in those fields as a child and I have been in Calgary since 1983. We also have always lived in the south. Well it was worth the wait. The only thing that we regret is that we had not discovered this experience earlier. The ambience was great. The location was perfect. The service was excellent. The wine was exquisite. The food was fantastic. Its a quiet country resort experience in the middle of a city. Its definitely not a low cost affair worth every penny. Thank you to all. Great service, Great Location, Great Food. We will be back and will likely plan future Company events there, as well.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening, great food, good service. We tried sitting out on the deck, but the cool wind came and we retreated indoors. Dinner was presented exquisitely, loved the flavors and local veggies ( which the chef picks some of them from the garden onsite ). We will be back for the food and ambience. Thanks for a memorable date night.
Great Evening. Service was fantastic, food was exceptional. We have dined several times here, inside can be a little noisy but we choose the patio as it was a great evening and it was well worth it.
Cost is what is to be expected from a boutique-ie restaurant but as the food was So delicious it was well worth it.
Could use a little more music outside (and inside to cover the noise) as well as some room treatments (accoustic panels) inside would help a lot.
A great evening. Thank you.
Great dining experience in the heart of Fish Creek Park. We took our friends for an evening on the patio and everything was fine. Martin is an exceptional server. He is fun and helpful. We shared a few appetizers and they were delicious. The lamb was tender The wine list was great and our server was very knowledgeable. And we could not say enough about the unique atmosphere on that porch patio. A truly special place for Calgary.
