Bourbon Street Ratings and Reviews
Everything was great. I went there to celebrate my birthday and I loved it. Food is a little pricey. I ordered a burger and my friend ordered a steak. Both items came out basically a little rare. Would have preferred for the meat to be cooked a little longer. The mac and cheese is amazing! Would absolutely have that again.
I enjoyed the brunch food. I had French toast and bacon which was cooked very well. Drinks also were pretty good. I loved the ambience. I love the southern feel. Service was pretty slow. It was very hard getting a server (there wasn't even that many people). Definitely will come back. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
Everything was excellent. My friends and I each enjoyed what we ordered. I had the marinated skirt steak was was flavorful and tender. My friend loved her shrimp Po Boy and my other friend greatly enjoyed the Cowboy shrimp. The portion sizes were huge and we all had leftovers to take home. Even the "bread basket" had good treats in it. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious food with real flavor. There are a lot of choices and I have never yet had a bad meal. The Cajun Sampler and any of the steaks are some of my favorites, but only try the Cajun options if you like spice as they have a real great kick! Servers are always attentive and pleasant. I am so glad this place has been a neighborhood staple for many years and I hope it continues for many years more.
I went with a group of friends for a birthday. We ordered from their Saturday brunch menu. There weren't a lot of people there at the time and the atmosphere was nice. The food was just OK; The omelette, taco, and french toast weren't anything special, but the crab cake benedict was good. Overall, this place was decent; food can be slightly improved.
When seated at a table, people care to talk. And not have to scream at their dinner companions to be heard. There does not need to be obnoxious, loud, non-discernable "music". Keep it in the bar. And not in the THREE dining rooms. Food is good and plentiful. And service is above average. Add flavor to your calamari which has none. LOVE your tuna wrap, but try a whole wheat, spinach or tomato wrap (not white flour, which I left on the side of the plate).
We we're in and out in 45 minutes the service was terrible and our waitress was pretty rude. I ordered the fried chicken basket and by the time my food came the chicken was burnt and unappetizing. Would not be returning to this restaurant nor would I recommend.
I have frequented Bourbon Street many times for a variety of occasions (N Y Eve or Holiday time) and casual dinners or weekend brunch. Love the variety of the menu and the bar drinks are done right. The revamped rooftop makes this place more enticing. My only comment comes down to consistency of the food and the service. It is very hit or miss on both fronts. The things they get right generally are brunch, Cajun flavors and burgers. I've gotten food where while on the same plate, the temperature of the items are inconsistent (ie, fried mac and cheese, hot on the outside, cold on the inside). Service is case to case. If you have a large group, one server is fine but offer more "support staff" to help the server with clearing dishes or refreshing drinks.
Overall, a great place to dine and hang out. Excellent music and comfortable seating arrangements...great space for parties!
My friends and I wanted to try someplace new for our annual birthday outing. We made the 1:45pm reservation and checked the rooftop for seating. Only after being seated did we see a sign that read two hour limits at the table (we were planning to eat and drink for about five hours). We went downstairs and had our meal (great service his name escapes me) then returned to the rooftop for drinks. We asked Jackie if there was anywhere we could sit and drink for more than 2 hours we were told take the seating on the side of the rooftop this was at 2:45pm. There was another slightly more mature lady there who spoke to us and explained the set up; she was pleasant and helpful. We sat down and were served water, after 6 mins of no follow up or menu provided we moved to seating next to the door also in the outside sitting area. We were then told that there was a party coming in at four and we would need to move from all of the outside sitting area (not even two hours later); in addition there was a sign posted stating to sit in the area is a $50 minimum per person. After 15 minutes of not being served we walk over to an open tables to sit down. Jackie I feel wasn't helpful throughout this entire time then told us we needed to get up because she's giving the table to a couple that just came in. At that point we decided not to waste our time spending another dime at this venue. What started out as a nice meal turned into a very dismissive and uncomfortable experience. We were ignored and embarrassed. I wouldn't go back here or recommend it to my friends.
I must say, the service at Bourbon Street was superb. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and then served by a wonderful waitress. I wish I remembered her name! There were plenty choices on the menu to satisfy everyone's palette. The food was tasty but could have been a bit warmer. I recommend the Hurricane for a mixed drink. Overall, a great experience!
The restaraunt staff were wonderful, very attentive. Sorry to say, the food was lousy. I had the Cajun Sampler. The only thing I could taste was hot spice which completely and totally overpowered the taste of the shrimp, the chicken and the sausgae. It was if all they do is pour hot spice on the food so they can call it Cajun. The red beans and rice was fair. I will never eat at this restaraunt again.
Average food.I had ribs they were ok. My friend had the gumbo she did not like it. Chef unable to make requested broiled porkchop because it was part of a special and they thought they might run out. We were seated near the bar so it was a bit noisy. There was a party going on in the side room. Place was hopping. Bar looked good.
GREAT spot roof top with outside pizza oven is a definite plus. Friendly staff pleasant crowd and great ambiance. Parking was a challenge although I think they have valet, it still bears the hustle and bustle of the city with still a city flare. If you decide to do the rooftop and have difficulty walking, opt for the elevator. The climb up was quite a bit for person recovering from hernia surgery. Overall I would give 5 stars but I did not taste the delicious looking did one. If in the area or looking for a local great escape I highly recommend!
My friends and I went for brunch and had a wonderful time. Food was excellent, cocktails was good as well. I was a bit disappointed in the service we received. They weren't busy and our waitress wasn't very attentive, if we needed something, we had to ask someone else... that was a bit annoying. Overall it was a good experience. They have a great rooftop bar :))
They need to open full service on the rooftop. That's the reason I went there and wasn't able to eat up there. They wouldn't even let us take our drinks upstairs after we finished dinner. Smh. The experience overall was good but it could have been great with that added factor.
Went for happy hour. Disappointed that there were only two drinks - sangria or Montauk beer being offered at happy hour prices. Also, the pizza and clams which are advertised as happy hour specials were not available. the bar was packed and there were only two servers so it took a very long time to get a drink and a refill. We had dinner downstairs. Enjoyed the burger stuffed with bacon and blue cheese and the penne pasta with portobello muchrooms. the sliced steak sandwich was kind of tough and fatty. Fries and salad were very good. blue cheese dressing should be thicker; it was very watery. Waitress was terrific.
