Service was outstanding. Food is good but seemed over hyped. Tuna Tartare appetizer was spectacular... Too bad our main dishes did not live up to expectations.

We went to dinner at 7:15. From the beginning the service was slow. It took an excessive amount of time to get our courses. My friend's salad course, after our appetizers, came so late we sent it back. We asked to speak to the manager. One of them came out and all they did was say they were very sorry, but didn't offer any kind of explanation or offset. On a positive note the wine bottle we had was very good and the sommelier was helpful. I wouldn't go back.

The food is expensive, but worth the price. I absolutely loved the lobster pot pie. They were not able to do the bourbon flight while we were there, so we were a little bummed. The drinks and desserts were great.

I brought a friend here as part of her birthday Dinner-and-a-Show night and it could not have been better. The food was so good that we joked about ordering three more things just to taste. The service was nice and I especially enjoyed the beet salad. We were able to leave the car for a nominal fee and taxi to the show which was wonderful. After the show, we came back and had dessert (we ordered three and together ate every bite of all of them) and a nightcap at the bar before heading home.

They took great care to make our romantic evening great, for some reason my card was rejected which was quite embarrassing--especially considering it worked after we left. The price is high. Dessert wasn't too spectacular even though they have a 'treat trolley'. It will be hard to compete with other great steak houses walking distance from this location.

Too expensive for what you get. While the steaks are good, they're not great and they should be for the price. The wine list is ridiculously overpriced. You have to scrounge to find a wine in the high 2 digits.

This was our second time here, first time was amazing 11/2014. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and really looked forward to this dinner. Bar and dinner menu has changed one of steaks was tough and was not a good quality steak. Desert menu was not great.... For the price of this dinner it was truly underwhelming. We will never recommend this restaurant again. We both have told so many it is a go to place when in the City. Such a disappointment!

This dining experience is a toss-up for the worst dining experience I have ever had at a steakhouse. The other being a certain place in the financial district in NY. I guess I need to learn my lesson and really read the reviews while I am travelling. We settled on Bourbon Steak as it was one of the only steakhouses available to seat us on Valentine's day while we were visiting SF. The selection was very poor for a high end steakhouse. The waitress came across as extremely rude and unfriendly. The sides were small and overpriced. Save your money as this place is run like a tourist trap and it shows in their service.

We rushed over here to make our 845 reservation for the night before valentines day 2016. And were greeted as soon as we stepped inside by the matre'D and right away ushered to our seats where we found a bottle of champagne waiting for us with two glasses and a card wishing me and my lovely a happy anniversary. The truffle fries came out soon after with the array of dipping sauces which were delightful. Then followed the entres a 22 oz ribeye boneless for me cooked medium rare and a salmon dish for her. Our sides included truffled mac n cheese which was amazing and the brussel sprouts which were equally as delightful. We proceeded to order a fantastic bottle of red from napa valley that was suggested to us by the wine steward. Overall amazing night that was topped off by the fantastic root beer float. Unbelievably full and satisfied we walked back to our hotel. $500 spent right.

I really enjoy dining here and have done so at least three times. The steaks are outstanding as is the service. Duck fat fries instead of bread is served to all tables, how wonderful is that! The different sauces one can select really complement the steaks and their side dishes are all scrumptious. The beignet in scotch caramel sauce was phenomenal. I very sorry to hear it might be closing soon and if this is so, I recommend getting in there to experience the wonderful dining there.

The food is good but this restaurant needs to address wait staff attentiveness. After a 20 minute wait following seating I had to ask a buss person if they could find someone to bring us menus. Thinking this was normal we watched others seated after. Not the case. They were attended to immediately. We did notice a larger party that seemed to have every member of the wait staff buzzing around. Maybe they were special and deserved better? Nope. Not when I'm paying the same for my meal. Let's talk cost. Two steaks, two small beet salads, shrimp cocktail, two small sides and a bottle of domestic wine. $420 before gratuity. My wife couldn't finish the steak so I polished it off as she would have left $30 on the plate. It pays to review the menu before going if you don't want sticker shock. For us the price didn't matter. So why would I mention this? Read on. Was the meal worth $420? No. Why? Because for this price I don't expect to wait 20 minutes flagging down people for menus. I don't want to watch other tables be serviced by six waiters while we wait. We're we the only party with this issue? Nope. A small party leaving the same time caught us in the elevator and asked if we had problems with attention from the staff and if we thought spending nearly three hours to get through dinner was excessive. We all laughed thinking it was just us. Two for two failure.

Decided to dine at Bourbon for convenience since we were staying in its hotel, The Westin St Francis. The restaurant definitely has a romantic and classy ambiance. The food is good, but value-for-money, it falls short. If I was looking for the nicest steak, I would choose Ruth's Chris over Bourbon's. However, I have never been to the Ruth's Chris in San Francisco - it didn't look as posh as Bourbon; and definitely not "just down the elevator" from my hotel room. Duck fat fries come free in place of complimentary bread - something different and yummy. My girlfriend and I shared the Porterhouse; plenty of food; true to medium; flavorful; but not an orgasmic-melt-in-your-mouth experience. Beignets for dessert were good. Service was very slow for us at 8pm on a Friday, but I could tell a table nearby was getting plenty of attention from our waitress. Overall, a posh and convenient (but pricey) experience with an average-quality for a high-end steakhouse restaurant.

My colleague and I booked a table at Bourbon Steak for a late night dinner and we were absolutely delighted with our experience. After an initial delay to catch the attention of a waiter for our drinks (the only blip in an overall amazing experience), It was wall to wall awesome. The 50 oz Tomahawk steak was absolutely divine, and the fries were delicious. I'm a particular fan of the cucumber dipping sauce. They made my signature cocktail to perfection and our waiter was super attentive and courteous. I was so saddened to hear that Bourbon Steak is closing soon as it really is one of the gems of San Francisco.

We got seated on time which was nice! We quickly ordered our cocktails but it took about 20 minutes to get them. The steak tartare tasted was really good but presentation was not worth the price ( wasn't made in front of us and covered less than 20% of the plate; tw). The 22 ribeye steak we got was sub par. It was over 50% fat which was disappointing. Beignets were excellent. We came here 3 years ago and it was level below what it once was. I'm not surprised they are closing in a couple of weeks.

So recommendations to friends will come with the tag, "go before March 31." Look forward to trying the new projects, whatever they are.

We went to bourbon on 01/02/2016 and 01/16/2916. The first time we went, the steak melted in your mouth and was to die for. We liked it so much, we took different friends two weeks later. It was like a completely different restaurant. The steak was charred beyond belief. When we let the staff know, they were not surprised. They must get a lot of complaints about the "new broiler" which they put the blame on. Won't be spending several hundred dollars there again.
