Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina - Miami Ratings and Reviews
We sit at the Bar and Jen is great. Drinks are excellent. The Fries are deadly and amazing. We shared the Tuna sashimi which was very good but the Rib Cap was amazing. So tender for a rib eye. Cooked perfectly. We love the restaurant. Not inexpensive, but the quality and the experience can't be beat.
Lost it's edge. Over hyped and way over priced for the quality of the food. Used to love it but after the last 3 attempts I won't be back. If it was fabulous like it used to be I wouldn't care that it was 1,000.00 meal for 4....but now I feel really ripped off. Remember the story "The Emperor's New Clothes"....?
It was obvious that people who were taking advantage of the Miami Spice menu were themselves taken advantage of. The small 5oz steak was so tuff I couldn't chew it. They replaced it with another tough piece. I questioned whether it was really "prime" and was "scorned" upon. Terrible attitude and not worth the price, even on Miami Spice
went for Miami Spice to try the restaurant. Bar is beautiful and excellent drinks by Jennifer. Makes Morton's in Aventura feel like a "Fridays" in comparison, no offense to Fridays. Food was excellent and the fries they give you are dangerously perfect! Our new favorite place for sure.
Waited 30 minutes after reservation to sit down and then another 2 hours for food. The loud noise in the restatuarant from everyone trying to talk over each other is incredible. Noise was so loud I got a headached. Food was not hot and ok but should have been outstanding for the price. I do not recommend this restaurant on the weekend. Maybe it is a little more quieter during the week. Overpriced for the food. Chris Ruth or Morton's a better deal.
Server didn't address the table on menu at beginning of seTong
Then when asked to split the bill a certain way she later announced to the table that it couldn't be done. Um awkward
But servers cannot be blamed. Front of house came over and repeated the exact same billing problem with no apologies
So much for trying to buy friends a meal
Service. Long wait between starters and entrees. Actually no one had steak so unsure the delay
Food was average at best with salmon cooked well not medium
Best part were side dishes
Service was fantastic the entire evening. My husband and I went on a date to celebrate his birthday. The waiter brought my husband a birthday card signed by the staff (I had left. A note about it on open table). It was a kind gesture. We had the Miami spice menu. The best thing was the pork belly appetizer my husband ordered. I ordered the takini which I loved until I tried the prom belly. It was comfort food at its best. We both ordered steak and it was what I expect from a steak house juicy and delicious. My husband was expected more from his dessert (cookies and cream cake), it wasn't anything spectacular. I enjoyed my dessert very much. I forgot what it was called but it had guava and passionfruit and some kind of white chocolate mousse. It was very refreshing and sweet. Overall the food was good, the setting was nice and romantic, and the service was amazing!
Everything was great, but I do have to say that if I make reservations for 9:00 pm ( I do have to say that we got there at 9:03 pm due to the back up in valet, but I did call to tell them we were running 5 mins. Late due to valet) i expect to be seated at the time NOT 35 mins later with no update for the delay or apologies.
Unfortunately Miami Spice was a rip off .. we used that promotion to try the restaurant however this one was a very poor experience. They were not interested in serving the promotion. I requested water and they never served it. WE got dessert to go because poor service and high uncomfortable noise. When we got home and open you needed a magnifying glass to see the desserts. Great disappointment!!!
