Bourbon Steak is a very beautiful venue with ambiance to spare and makes you feel you are in a special environment.
Drinks take a long time to come out. Too long. There should be some way to expedite this.
Food is usually plated well, fresh and delicious.
However, the other night, my scallops were so over salted, I had to return them.
I ordered salmon instead which was very good.
Service is good, not great.
Not all the servers bother to point out that an %18 tip has been added to the bill.
When they see you add a %20 tip, they should tell you.
We had our anniversary and the staff were prepared and took great care of us!
My boyfriend LOVES this place! We went a year ago for his graduation from Law School and figured it’d be great to go again for his birthday. Unfortunately, it was a let down. The bartender was ok, just not personable. Did not help much with recommendations. Also, our server did not engage in conversation other than need be. He was just, you know, doing his job. Food was good, there’s no question about that.. except the eggplant side. It was just a side of mush with no texture or flavor. Also, when I made the reservation, I mentioned it being his bday, the first time, I mentioned his graduation and there was a cute congratulations card signed by all of the employees and they wrote congrats on the dessert. Nothing like that this time. We got a side smile from the bartender, “oh happy birthday.” And didn’t even get a chance to tell the sever it was his bday.
The Seafood Platter was excellent and the service from Michelle was terrific. This is our favorite local place. Never disappoints
Steaks were 5 stars. Overall food was delicious and worth the premium price. I’m usually a Prime one twelve guy but this was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely go again. Would recommend trying.
excellent food and excellent service...ambiance is quite nice and the handling of our special occasion was terrific
There is no need to go to SoBe for a 5-Star dining experience.
Great staff and some of the best food I've ever had, globally speaking.
Birthday. Dinner was amazing
Underwhelmed. Automatic 18% tip was excessive. We were not impressed
The food was very average at best, my friend's filet mignon was a dried out slab of meat and all of the portions seemed much smaller than the weights listed on the menu.
The worst part of the evening was the service which was terrible. An 18% gratuity is included in all checks so I guess there is no need for the waiter to do anything other than throw food down on the table. I had to ask for my salad 3 times, everyone finished their appetizer before my salad was brought to the table. I told the waiter I was gluten free and he still had a piece of bread sitting on top of my dish when he brought it over.
One friend ordered the Red Snapper. The piece was so small that the server said" oh, this doesn't look right "and brought another portion to the table.
Bourbon is a very pretty restaurant but with so many good steak houses in town no reason to visit this one!
Great steak! Definitely the best steakhouse in Aventura.
Celebrated my birthday there with a few friends. Very classy great service and the steak was greattttt
Bourbon Steak is our go to restaurant always for everyday dining and for special occasions since it first opened. The food is consistently excellent and the cocktails are spectacular in addition to its extensive wine list! The service unfortunately on this occasion was far below the norm. The server was obviously overwhelmed as she had a huge party that demanded the majority of her attention and especially at the end when they asked for separate checks. I was watching her get flustered and she absolutely ignored all of her other tables, including us, due to the large party. It was frustrating as I had to ask another server for our dessert order. In the 15 minutes after that which she never even came over to confirm our dessert order, I then had to walk to the bar to ask the bartender for a 2nd round of drinks. The bartender had another server bring the drinks to us...and yet another 10 minutes passed and our server had yet to come by. At this point, we had only seen her when she took our dinner order. She never came by to ask how our meal was and she never made another appearance until we got our check. This is not the service we expect at our favorite restaurant and certainly not what should be expected from a Michael Mina restaurant.
The MOD was very kind and he knew our family and took care of our desserts and apologized. That was appreciated but the poor service definitely put a damper on our Easter family dinner. Again, as we frequent Bourbon quite often, we know this poor service was out of the norm...
We came to celebrate a job promotion and a college acceptance. One of our party has a serious food allergy, which they handled perfectly! The staff is phenomenal! We got several items which were prepared tableside - the tuna tartare and the lobster pot pie (which was amazing!)
An absolute disappointment from the quality of the steaks to the poor service. Tried to find a manager to discuss the situation but was not found until the end - Raphael the manager looked like a lost sheep trying to figure how to make anything work and offered his business card. Not sure how a business card would make things work, when dinner was pathetic. Enough said, the restaurant needs to take their clients seriously and pay attention to the quality of the food and have their staff treat their guest professionally. Raphael needs to understand that no one comes in for a free meal and are prepared to pay top dollar for a top quality dining experience - Bourbon was a disaster from start to finish.
Sat in bar area to watch March Madness. Enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Traditional steakhouse. Great bourbon. Pricey, but worth it to us.
The management went above and beyond to make sure we received top-notch treatment worthy of a special occasion. Exceptional experience and world-class food.
Everything was more than perfect!! Excellent!!
This is a truly great restaurant. Just be carefully with your choices. When we were asked about our water preference, we said "still" thinking it was tap. Nope. $38 later we learned the water lesson. But don't let that stop you. This is a truly unique culinary experience. The "foix gras" special is the most unique ever and the chicken is fantastic. Be cognizant of "salt" as chefs tend to over-season and allow yourself to indulge. The salads are spectacular, the tuna tartare is heavenly, try not to eat too many "amuse " french fries. Though I am not a meat eater, my guest said the rib-eye was one of the best he ever had. Great ambiance and very nice wait staff.
We celebrated my sister’s 60th birthday and Bourbon Steak went above and beyond! They offered special desserts at the end of our delicious meal to help us celebrate. If any negative, the garlic mashed potatoes were a bit runny but still tasty. The Mac n cheese was the best! All steaks were cooked to perfection and completely devoured. I highly recommend for a special evening out!
Skip this place and go to the Capitol Grill. Service was aloof except for one guy who was helping out. Don’t remember his name but he was nice. Our main server and the girl who kept refilling our waters were rude. The food was RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. $52 for 1 dozen tiny oysters. $49 for a filet mignon that was Costco quality. I asked for it to be cooked between rare and medium rare and my server looked at me like I had two heads. It came out raw/rare. I don’t mind rare steak if it’s good quality but this was nowhere near the quality for what they were charging. I only ate half of it. (the rest might be OK for steak and eggs tomorrow. At least I know it won’t be overcooked). The sides were tasteless (sautéed mushrooms that you could cook yourself with more flavor and a crab bernaise sauce that has almost no flavor but at least it cost $27). The one good side was the rock shrimp risotto. It was quite good. The other two good things for the french fries that they bring out before your meal. Those are excellent. The other thing was the key lime pie. It wasn’t as good as some I have had but it had inventive ingredients and good flavor. That was it. My husband got coffee and thought it tasted like Folgers. I will never go back to this place again. I highly recommend skipping it. If you want to get steak and excellent seafood, good cocktails, Etc. Go to the Capital Grill. Or Morton’s or Houston’s (right down the street from this place). Just about anything would be a better value and taste better. We were very disappointed.
Very excellent, we went to celebrate our anniversary, we were very pleased that we were presented with an anniversary card signed by the staff. Excellent experience.
Service is a little slow - no attention to empty water cups or long waits for waiter to come take an order or bring food or drinks that should pretty quick
Appetizer Fries came cold and we were charged for a third order when usually we never get charged - we ordered steaks and appetizers I’m sure you can absorb an extra order of fries you usually give for free
Other than that love this place it’s a great option for Aventura fine dining and ambiance
Hostess was unfriendly. Arrived 10 minutes early to my reservation and was sat 20 minutes later when the restaurant was not busy. Food was sub quality for the price. I will neither recommend nor will I return.
Everything was going well until one of our party got bad oysters, which he thankfully did not eat. When the waiter was told he acknowledged the problem and apologized profusely. It would seem to me that an experienced shucker could have spotted what both my guest and the waiter realized were bad oysters However, considering the severity of illness and/or death from tainted seafood, I would think we would get an apology from the chef or the Maitre D’ and a consideration beyond just saying, “don’t worry we took the oysters off your check.” - perhaps an espresso or dessert for the gentleman they nearly poisoned. I would think Michael Mina whose name is emblazoned on the restaurant (and many others) would not be pleased.
Generally disappointing. I had heard much about this place, and tried it the other night. The NY Strip was slightly mealy, and over salted, as were the mushrooms. I have a problem with steak houses putting too much salt on things: it makes no sense to me, and almost without exception diminishes the food. Please remember: guest may add their own salt to taste. Staff was friendly and there was a good atmosphere, although when I showed up, there was no one standing at the host/hostess' table at the front for about 5 minutes, which seems a bit odd for a restaurant of this purported class and quality. When someone did show up, she ignored me until I asserted myself and mentioned my reservation. All in all, a passable experience. I might be willing to try again, but the first go 'round was underwhelming.
Always great food and superb service. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent, but very expensive wine list
Always a great meal!
Vacation, very good food, worth the splurge
The food is always superb. My favorite restaurant
Asked for a glass of the house cabernet, had two glasses, tab was $56 for 2 glasses of house wine. The wine and food were both very good, but disgustingly overpriced. It was so loud due to a TY in the din8ng room I could hardly hear my guests. A big diiappoinment, just not worth the money.
Food was overpriced for what it was. We ordered a $28 desert we were told was big enough for 6 people and was small (waste of money). The steaks were not super interesting or innovative in taste of presentation. Literally a steak on a plate. Seafood tower was good.
It's a beautiful room. The steak and the sides were very good but the 3 and a half pound lobster was very tough. Service was excellent and I would go again but I would not order the lobster. I think a 2 and half pound lobster would be much more tender.
Once again we relied upon the staff for an outstanding celebratory evening for 11 and it didn't disappoint...in fact, we booked a return visit for May for another celebration...in the meantime the wife and I will be back frequently enjoying the masterfully prepared Manhattans (accompanied by FFries in duck fat), best Caesar in the South and steaks, veal chops or maybe fish? Always a great experience....
Ordered lobster pie... had previously, great experience. This time waiter dumped upside on plates. Horrible presentation and ruined the experience
Great waitress great food
I highly reccomend this restaurant. Very expensive and very noisy, but outstanding food
