The service is excellent. Our server was super nice. The fries were good but cold. All of the food was ok but lacked seasoning. The flavor was just ok. The snapper was the best thing I had.
Anybody who has read my reviews knows Bourbon has always been our family favorite. It was a special occasion tonight as our daughters were leaving for college and our son is starting his sophomore year in the morning so this was our very special FAMILY night (weekend nights can be overrated so we chose Sunday). We chose our absolute favorite place, Bourbon, but wow..what a true disappointment. Because of the Spice menu, the restaurant (the kitchen) obviously could not handle the volume and truly neglected their regulars who were willing to pay the "regular" prices of the menu (rather than the value prices of the Spice menu). There must have been at least a 30 minute lag between our appetizers to our entree. By the way, only 1 out of 5 family members ordered the Spice menu and it was only because she thought the chicken entree was different from the menu chicken but she was incorrect...Anyway, the whole dinner started off on a wrong note...our drinks were not good. My gimlet that I've been ordering since the 'soft' opening of the restaurant was terrible as if the shaker was not properly cleaned and the lingering flavors ruined my gimlet drink. Then the lag in the entree was a damper...when our entrees arrived, my husband's skirt was SO DRY AND UNFLAVORFUL that he barely touched it.I ordered a chardonnay and asked for an oaky and buttery chardonnay and my server assured me the California one was the way to go over the French one. What a mistake! It was so acidic and absolutely horrendous. The sommelier came over and asked what was wrong. I explained and he said "no wonder why...the chardonnays are "unoaked" so of course, I would not like them if I had wanted an oakey chardonnay. This is such terrible service and such a disappointment. It was one thing after another which is very unlike Bourbon. In my honest opinion, Bourbon catered to the Spice patrons in the August months and neglected their regulars. Please rectify this!
I have enjoyed Bourbon Steak numerous times. I went for the Miami Spice menu and I suggest trying it. Trio fries are always great and the creme fraiche was outstanding. The gazpacho is good although the portion for the soup as well as the entree is very small. My strip was tiny and I asked for it Pittsburgh Rare and it was served medium rare and must have been under the lamps since it was not hot at all. Overall, very good steak size, temperature and taste could be improved.
Delicious, creatively prepared food. A wonderful food experience. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was wonderful with complex flavors. My only criticism was that my steak had a huge chunk of fat although what little meat that was present was tasty
Loved the food and the ambience and the service well worth the experience. Will highly recommend it and will hopefully return very soon. Thank you.
The ambiance is what I paid for. We did the Miami Spice Menu to see if we liked the restaurant before shelling out hundreds or thousands on a dinner. I am allergic to Balsamic Vinegar and the appetizer, though there was no mention on the menu along with all the other ingredients; that there was any, was used as decor and all over the app. I had to send it back and they prepared a new one for me. It came out very fast and was different than the other girls.
I ordered the steak prepared medium and with nothing on it. Thank goodness I thought to ask if they put butter on their steaks and the server said they did. I asked for no butter on mine. A good, fresh steak needs nothing! The plate was very pretty, very very small piece of steak. I took one bite and it was RAW; not medium or even medium rare. Downright raw. The cooked it longer for me.
The desserts were very pretty; though I was not impressed with the taste.
All in all, I would not return to Bourbon Steak. When we left the restaurant, I said to my friends that I had the weirdest taste in my mouth and that something was repeating on me. A really good restaurant with fresh ingredients - that does not happen.
The server wasn’t good!
My steak came out completely wrong, they never brought the bread until after the steaks were served even though we asked multiple times. They never asked if we wanted another order of french fries even though it was empty and the quality of the steak was extremely chewy. I’ve been multiple times and this was the first time or I would say that the experience was actually poor
What can one say. Excellent food and service says it all!
We arrived on time, the hostess took us to a table in the bar. We had a reservation that we did a week in advance for the restaurant. She told us there were no svailable tables , only gave us a table when I told her that I was going to review at Open Table. There were at least six empty tables !!!!
Food and service were excellent, but the hostess ruined part of our evening. Too bad!!!
Always a great dinner. Steaks were perfectly done as ordered. Caesar salads were excellent also. Service is tops. A lovely dining room for a very pleasant experience.
Great anniversary dinner. Service and the food were outstanding.
Always the greatest. Best service staff and chef in miami
Excellent spot in the area , food and drinks were really good . Atmosphere was very bright and welcoming , not dark and gloomy like some restaurants. I will definitely go back and try some more drinks and other things in the menu, it’s also centrally located so u can walk around enjoy the area after your meal. The service was also great and the bar area also looked welcoming
A great start to Miami Spice. My wife’s snapper was superb. My steak was well prepared. The beet salad outstanding and the deserts (peanut butter and peach financier) just great. Had a rising sun drink and will return. Hadn’t been here in years and this place needs to be back on my regular list. Can’t forget the duck fat fries. The best!
great food and service
Anibal and his staff are always warm and welcoming, and exceed expectations each and every time. Craig is always there to pick out that perfect wine. The food is spectacular, and the chefs imigination never fails to satisfy the tastebuds. Bourban remains my favorite restaurant in Miami for celebrations and the intimate date night.
Great food, great service!
Mediocre at best! I dined at Bourbon Steak in Nashville TN, that was an amazing experience! Bourbon Steak in Aventura Fl - waste of time and money! The food, even though had some great potential, well prepared and the flavors were great, most likely thanks to the great recipes developed by Michael Mina, were executed poorly and cold when served... Even my favorite French fries were cold! I have a feeling even McDonalds wouldn’t serve cold French fries for the customers! At the price tag of $325 for two people, it was a total fiasco! Do not waste your money or don’t have any expectations... plainly put, food sucked 😔
food was amazing! from appetizers to dinner and the grand finale of dessert!
Fantastic Meal! One of the best ever, Will be back soon!
Outstanding service! Food was delicious and presented very nicely. will definitely return.
Wife’s 40th Birthday
Food was great. Service was terrible. Waitress did not check on us or ask if we wanted another bottle of wine or coffee or dessert. Her service really brings down the quality of the restaurant. The manager was more interested in the table next to us and even cleared their plates. Did not ask us how our dinner was. Manager should check on all of his guests. Food runner was pleasant. Waitress was poor. It is unfortunate we had such a poor dining experience as we have eaten there before with good service. Food is always good but she really ruined the experience.
Our experience was fantastic beginning to end. We have been to Michael Minas other restaurant Strip Steak and it has been our favorite until now. From the entrance to departure, we were greeted with smiles, seated immediately, our host was great with the small talk and made it seem very genuine and fluid. Our server Claudio made us feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. The way he presented the menu had me ready to buy every item. Claudio spoke to us like we were friends yet was very professional. I had my mind made up on my entre by the time he started going over the menu however I ended up getting something different and I am so glad I did. The Chefs cut was the best combination of ribeye and filet mignon. We thought we were stuffed for the night and Claudio surprised us with a dessert we couldn't resist. We now have a new favorite restaurant and can't wait to return. The ambiance was a definite plus!
Everything was fresh and the service was fantastic. I dined with you all about five years ago and it was just as great as I remember. The table side service presentation of the lobster pot pie is top notch! Thank you.
Thanks to the wonderful staff at Bourbon Steak for making our first night in Miami so memorable! Juan was so gracious in giving us a tour of the kitchen and introducing us to Chef!
Wine bottles way over-priced. Steak at $75 bucks just good, not great. Didn't think much of Caesar salad. $6 for a kids coke. Price and quality did not match the ambiance.
The food and service was spectacular. The service exceeded every expectation and the personal touches for a special occasion were so thoughtful. I would recommend this for any special occasion or just a special night out.
The amazing outcome was that the fish is better than the beef. An so over price for what you receive.
Bourbon Steak is one of my absolute favorite restaurants anywhere! Between the atmosphere, the staff, the food... I'm in heaven!
Not as good as the other high-end steakhouses in Miami. The NY strip, while cooked to a perfect medium rare as ordered, had one end that was mostly fat and gristle. The wedge salad could have used more dressing. A lobster risotto appetizer, one of the daily specials, was good but overpriced. For $36, you would expect a lobster tail on top. Instead, it had tiny chunks of lobster in the risotto. The mushroom side order was delicious, but the creamed spinach was ordinary. One nice touch was that, instead of bread, they serve a complimentary trio of french fries, each seasoned differently and each with a different dipping sauce.
Easy The best restaurant in Miami , absolutely fantastic steaks and fantastic staff. Enjoy an evening here // Lars
Server was outstanding. Food was excellent. Despite the high price, it was well worth it - would do it again in a heartbeat.
Amazing service, amazing food. One of the best meals in south Florida.
Our waiter Steve was amazing and very helpful
The food was delicious
