Very pricey but great dinner and service. The atmosphere is relaxing too.
We were seated next to a large group with 5 children who were yelling to each other across their table. It quickly became unpleasant. It was not that there were children, it was the yelling. We could not hear the waiter who was trying to take our order. We asked several times to be moved and were told they were trying to figure it out. The restaurant was not full. Finally, when we were ready to just pay for our drinks and leave, a manager offered to move us to the other side of the restaurant. We moved but at that point, given the unpleasant start and our need to ask several times to be moved, there was a damper on the dinner.
Having been to the bar several times, which is nice, we anticipated the restaurant would have a similar ambiance. It does not.
Although the food was good, the overall experience was disappointing.
The sides were good (mac it was tender but the taste was missing the proper seasoning. In my opinion the steak was over priced and I was very disappointed. I let the waiter know the food was just ok. My husband ordered the cheaper ribeye and his rating is 2 out of 5. His steak was ordered medium well but it was overly cooked.
Excellent food and incredible service. We will absolutely dine again. Zero complaints, we were more than impressed!
It was great and even better service
Thank you so much
The team what's amazing
The food was amazing
Happy New Year
We had an unforgettable experience for my gf bday from start to finish! We were seated at a quiet table and given a champagne toast(what a nice touch!). Enrique was our server and he was outstanding. Extremely knowledgeable and personable. Martinis very excellent, tuna tartare was very good. The Waygu ribeye and Dry-aged Bone-in strip were cooked perfectly. Sides were tasty and paired very nicely with reds recommended by Enrique. S’mores dessert was delicious. Total experience was superb! Special thanks to the staff and Enrique!
Perfect choice to celebrate my birthday. Staff was friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable. Best caesar salad I've ever had and the smoked smores dessert was simply amazing.
Excellent service and the food was incredible. Got the angus filet mignon as well as the s’more dessert. Felt like I was at a Michelin start restaurant! Would absolutely go again.
We enjoyed an intimate New Year’s Eve dinner. There was a band in the bar that adjoins the restaurant. The music was great! Nice, diverse crowd as well.
Nye prefix menu was very one tone… over use of truffles and spices throughout all items is why i say its very one tone. Im sure regular menu is a little more diverse regardless The Four Seasons touch still remains with excellent customer service.
Food was spectacular!!
We went to Bourbon Steak for our Anniversary and so glad that we did. The food, service and overall experience was amazing. We will definitely return!
Great time and meal.
Delicious cocktails and food!
I'll start with the positives: The ambiance and service were great and exactly what we were looking for. Negative: The food was just ok, which for the price, was very disappointing. Do NOT order the lamb. The waiter said it wasn't trimmed but didn't say it was uneatable. The entire piece of meat was fat...no meat, just fat. I had to send it back. Additionally, the steak my boyfriend ordered was undercooked and almost raw. He asked for medium and got closer to rare. It was his birthday, so again, a disappointment. If we ever go back, it will only be for drinks and only if we are in the neighborhood.
Reservation was at 6:30, and we didn’t get our food until 8:20. Our steaks arrived cold, my steak wasn’t medium rare like I requested, came out medium, and our sides came out 15 minutes after we received our steaks. They apologized and took half off our meal, which was nice, but if your “short staffed” in your kitchen maybe close, like other restaurants have, until you can offer the level of food and service expected for such an establishment.
Go every year for my Anniversary. Always great service and food. Everyone last night was very nice!
Expected better service, food was really good overall I enjoyed the experience and would go back
My family were in hopes of a fantastic, outstanding dining experience as we celebrating Christmas.
To be considered an upscale restaurant, I didn’t feel the 5 stars rating. We had to ask for services for certain requests such as: clearing the untidy table, replacing silverware, not being informed by delay in receiving food, etc.
For the cost I felt we were not accommodated to it’s full potential in a 5-star dining.
My family and I chose to have our Christmas dinner there, thinking it would be special. Service was poor, food overpriced, expensive cuts of stake badly cooked. Shocked and disappointed. We’ll never eat here again and don’t recommend it.
Our server, Mus(?), was incredible
We went here on xmas eve with another couple as we try to experience DC best during the holidays. The host took us to the table immediately, but we had to wait 10 mins to get water and order cocktails while we held onto our menus waiting for our server. After that minor issue the food, cocktails and wine assistance from the sommelier were excellent. The American Waygu is amazing and we enjoyed the oysters in the half shell. Must get the smoky smores and pineapple flambe for dessert. I will be coming back in 2022.
Lamb Chop was all fat, had about 5 bites of meat
Steak was average.
Delicious meal, great service, and a perfect setting for our Pre Christmas celebration.
Everything (almost) was great!
The only thing I wish was that it was a tad bit quieter. I was sitting directly across from my boyfriend and we could hardly hear each other.
This place used to be a lot more “formal.” For business meetings, romantic dates, etc. I mean, the lighting is even more dim than most places, because higher end restaurants tend to maintain a more sophisticated vibe. Even though the prices are much higher (and deservedly so), the noise volume and crowd is becoming more like the Cheesecake Factory, unfortunately.
20 year wedding anniversary
This place is phenomenal. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere is great! Service was awesome! That said, this is one of the most expensive restaurants in DC. There is Wagu beef on the menu that is close to $1,000. Pot Pie $110. That said, this place is great for a "once a year" type of thing. All the food is mouth watering good. My filet mignon was the best I ever had! Sides were excellent too! Staff was great. Overall a great experience!!!
Bourbon Steak did a wonderful job getting our table ready for my husband’s birthday, and the service and food were both spectacular. A++
The food was delicious and the service was spot on. Really enjoyed our evening. Was pretty crowded, plus the crowd from the bar made it pretty loud
Overall, most excellent!
Walked in and seated immediately. Our table was next to the bar area so it was a little loud. Our service was great and the food was amazing.
The food and experience was great. I love the fries they serve you while you wait and the rolls are delicious.
It was an excellent experience. We loved the food as well as the s’mores and cheesecake at the end was amazing !!
I took my husband for his birthday and we had an amazing time! Thanks to the DC staff for making it a special abs memorable evening.
Food was good, steaks just ok (not what they’ve been in the past, and not what you’d expect at the price point), service was spotty (lots of socializing). Several other steakhouses in DC are more consistent.

Just awful service. Very disappointing. You’d think when they bring a table of eight 8 $70 steaks the waitress would want to make sure everything is cooked right. Total debacle. Wrong temperature on 4 of the steaks—wife’s steak was to be well done. Was rare. Waitress was nowhere to be found. Had to flag down a bus boy to take it back to the kitchen—took 22 minutes to get it back—not sure how that happens —the restaurant was half empty. Everyone else was done before my wife received her dinner. They took it off the check but how does the waitress not make sure everything is good when they put over $1000 worth of food on the table?? Sides were wrong too. Didn’t bring the right sides until meal was done. $1800 bill. Wife reminded me the service is always terrible there. Not going back. Over it.
Hello Gregory, My sincere apologies for the poor service and the issues with the food. I hope you change your mind and give us another chance. With the exception of service it met none of my expectations. Average steak that was overpriced, little to no ambience, unexceptional decor. I often stay at Four Seasons, I am surprised that they are seemingly acceptable of this restaurant and it’s product.

this is one of our favorite restaurants. Their food has always been consistently fantastic. It is pricey but worth it. As far as Thanksgiving at Bourbon Steak is concerned it has become a family tradition for us and is highly recommended.
