Steakhouse
BOURBON STEAK by Michael Mina offers guests an innovative American steakhouse and timeless dining experience with a twist. Our culinary team prepares pristine cuts of American and Japanese beef. Using Michael Mina’s signature process, the meat is slow-poached then cooked over a seasoned wood-fired grill to a mouthwatering finish. The bar at BOURBON STEAK features an extensive list of 20th century cocktails made to order, along with an extensive wine and spirits list. Additionally, the restaurant has a cultivated collection of small batch bourbons and whiskies it pours table side on its beverage cart.

Signature dishes include Japanese A5 Wagyu, American Wagyu Filet Mignon and a trio of duck fat French fries for every table. In the bar do not miss specialty drinks such as The Potomac, a variation of the classic dirty martini.

Octopus appetizer over grilled, rendering octopus dry and tasting burnt. Wedge salad over dressed.

Great food, phenomenal service, lovely outdoor patio. Would recommend to anyone as long as you’re ready for an expensive meal.

My friend and I met up for a post-pandemic dinner. We decided on Bourbon Steak, and our experience was great, due in no small part to our our wonderful server, Shelly. She really helped us decide on what to order since we were on the fence about pretty much everything except the steaks!

We started off with drinks. My friend had the Light Up the Season, and I had the Apple Cobbler. She liked the Light Up the Season so much, she had a second one; it was a very fresh, light cocktail. I think I expected more of an apple taste to the apple cobbler, but there was just too much ice in it for my taste. I drank it because, well whiskey, but I didn't have another.

We knew we wanted steak. She ordered the NY Strip (medium well), and I had the Cape Grim rib eye (medium rare). With the disparity of our preferences, we were glad to find both of our steaks cooked to perfection!

With the sides, we really wanted to try them all, but decided to settle on two - that is until Shelly described them all. We were informed that we'd receive french fries and bread, but we still got the truffle mac and cheese, broccolini, and brussel sprouts. I'm not a huge mac and cheese fan, but this was really good! The brussel sprouts were roasted and slightly crunchy. The broccolini topping was really good, too! Part of the reason we ordered so much was because the only thing better than a steak dinner is a steak lunch!

My friend asked about the steak sauces, and Shelly informed us that there was an off menu sauce that was similar to chimichurri. We were sold. We got the unlisted sauce (I can't remember the name!), the bearnaise, and the bourbon steak sauce (because you have to try to the house sauce!). I'm not a fan of sauce on steak, but that off-menu sauce was fantastic!

Dinner was great. Thank you Shelly and everyone else for an awesome dining experience!

There was a wedding party at the hotel so our reservation was put in an overflow room to the side of the main dining room and the kitchen was very slow, took 40 mins to get our appetizer and first drinks. Things sped up once I mentioned it to the waiter. Waiter was great and the food was outstanding.

This was probably the best service we’ve ever had at a restaurant. The wait staff was fantastic! It was our anniversary and we were given complementary champagne and dessert and the dinner was amazing. Would give it 10 stars if I could.

The NY Strip on bone was average. Cooked to my specification medium rare. I have had better tasting same dish at Capital Grill. The ambiance was dark brown dreary. Would have preferred a more formal classic or modern.
Service was excellent as were oysters and desert.
But I went there for an above average steak which I can only describe as average. Same reaction as my guest. I eat in steak restaurants regularly. One word summary fir my steak-underwhelming.

Have eaten here numerous times when visiting Washington DC and it is always a fantastic meal and a great experience. Excellent wine and bourbon list and the steaks are top notch! Sommeliers do an excellent job with wine recommendations or answering questions. Excellent servers help make for a great meal. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Service took forever, even though the restaurant wasn’t really crowded, and the table wasn’t really clean when we were seated. Server was slightly too familiar, but very nice. The food was good but overpriced.

This place is overpriced. For a $120 steak, you deserve much better than what they serve. On top of that, if you want any sides you have to buy them. Go to Chima or Ruth Chris, eat better and pay 1/3. Service is good.

Service was awful. I’m not a picky or demanding person. But we waited about 45 min until someone came to our table after ordering drinks. Will never go back. Expected a lot more from the 4 Seasons. Very disappointing.

On service, we had to wait almost 10 minutes, although the restaurant was open and semi empty. We were not in a rush, but we had no explanation for that.
We were indoors.
It is mentioned that from the sanitary perspective, they had separation between tables… they were not specially separated and at the end the restaurant felt crowded…
Restaurants need to invest in further separation between tables to provide a sense of safety to customers who aim to attend indoors.
Food, excellent, service very good, with a special detail for our occasion, and I am grateful for this.
We really enjoyed it.

I've been coming to Bourbon Steak on and off for years. This trip was underwhelming. The food was fine, but $89 for a ribeye seems excessive and a $60 bar tab for a glass of Jefferson Reserve and a manhattan is ludicrous. The tuna tartare was bleh, with neither the pine nuts nor scotch bonnet presenting. The rolls and fries, as always, were great but not really worth the excessive upcharge on everything else. The service was also a little lacking and the pacing of service and drinks was off (that likely is COVID related), but it saved us some money as well. Overall, there was nothing on the menu that I couldn't get elsewhere (or at home) at likely half the cost.

The food was reliable as always. The service was very good.
The only complaint is the glass service of outdoor tables.
It would be fine with placemats, but none was offered.
The sound of plates and flatware on the cool touch of glass on one’s skin isn’t for this level of the establishment
