We re not happy for first time. The valet parking took over 20 min. The service was not good and food as well. Had to ask for re doing steaks and sides . Wish our experience was better and as always . Don’t think we want to be back again
Friends intimate gathering with a little bit of business and a birthday celebration mixed in. Lovely service. Excellent menu! Did not disappoint!!
The service was phenomenal but the steak wasn't even tasty and the twice-baked potato was very dry. We don't mind paying good money for a great meal but this was not that.
Food was great.
Had high expectations for this restaurant, but the service was extremely slow and mediocre. I think our server forgot about us initially. When she came back, we put in our entire order—bottle of wine, apps, steaks, sides. We arrived at 730 on a Friday and it took over 2.5 hours to get our entrees. At least the server eventually acknowledged that the service was slow. The Japanese filet I ordered was just ok, my boyfriends Japanese rib eye was just ok, the wedge salad was nothing to write home about, but my boyfriend did enjoy the truffle Mac and cheese and free fries. I would consider going back to the bar, but definitely not the restaurant.
Somewhat pricey , service was a bit slow , but attentive , decor was disappointing
My father and I were very excited about having incredible steaks. I like my steak medium-rare, and mine was cooked very well. My dad ordered his steak between medium and medium well, closer to medium well. The steak arrived and was very rare on the inside but burned on the outside. He sent it back, and they cooked the same steak further. The inside was still very rare when they brought it out, and the outside was even more burned. Our waiter was very nice but not attentive at all. It was a really disappointing experience, particularly given the price level. In addition, the noise level made it almost impossible to hear without yelling. I feel particularly bad for my father, who said he will probably be hoarse in the morning from yelling over the noise and who didn’t even get a meal he could eat.
We go often to Bourbon Steak and are always kept waiting for a table. On this particular occasion, the maitre d' was annoyed with us for checking on the table (30 minutes past our reservation time) and pointed out that we did arrive a few minutes late. We were so offended by his tone (trying to blame the wait on us) that we nearly left.
Nevertheless, we did stick it out and had a lovely meal - just a shame about the way we were greeted.
Muz was an amazing server who took tremendous care of my table. My friends and I had an incredible time.
Our meal was very good. The steaks were done to perfection, & sides were amazing. However, the service was a joke. A server (not our primary for the night) spilled a full glass of wine on my friend as our first round arrived, and we were offered nothing more than a piece of cake at the end of our meal (??) and a “we’ll cover the dry cleaning”. A manager came over only 20 minutes after the incident occurred!
I understand that accidents happen. The server couldn’t have been more apologetic. That being said, restaurants of these kind always should differentiate on service, but this was such a poor way to handle the situation. Thanks for comping the $10 chocolate cake that we didn’t even ask for or want...
Bourbon never disappoints. I always make it a point to come here when in DC. Great Georgetown location in the Four Seasons Hotel. Have been dining in Michael Mina restaurants for probably close to 20 years -- San Francisco, Vegas, DC . Top notch cuts of steak, the side dishes and the freshly baked truffle bread is to die for!
Great! Told them ahead of time it was hubby’s birthday and they greeted us with best wishes to him and a great table and view! Yay!!
One of my favorite steakhouses anywhere! Always come and visit when we’re in DC. Great service from the servers and the sommelier is always very helpful! Can’t wait for our next visit!
Everything you would expect from a high end steak house. From the moment we arrived to the warm farewell upon departure, their team made us feel special and satisfied at every turn. Not the first time we’ve enjoyed this asset and certainly not the last. Thanks for a terrific experience!
Just perfect, from invite to leave and all in between
Perfect 10.... they didn’t miss a beat
Excellent service and Amazing steaks!!!
It took about an hour to receive the first course and we were never given a reasonable explanation nor was the response sufficient. There was not enough of a crowd to explain the delays. We also had to ask about a beverage order we'd placed as that was initially forgotten for quite some time and nobody was checking in to see if we were covered.
Our bill was 300 dollars for a salad, burger, and a small pastry. It was the worst dining experience I’ve had in DC
Easter Brunch. The interior decor is dated and service wasn’t as crisp as could be. Food was excellent.
Bourbon is one of my favorite restaurants in DC! Sadly, food-wise is not what it used to be. Tuna tartare was missing that spicy touch, the twice baked potatoes didn't have the characteristic spiral look and they don't taste the same. But I must say one of the biggest disappointments was at the very end of the meal when I ordered a scoop of their classic smores ice cream. It just didn't have that characteristic smokey flavor it was plain ice cream. Service is still incredible but the food is not up to the standards of what Bourbon used to be. It is missing that Bourbon touch, which is the reason why I used to love Bourbon so much
Delicious meal, outstanding service
We both very much enjoyed our meals. The final preparation o the lobster pot pie at tableside (almost reassembling the lobster) was especially fun. It's expensive, but worth it.
Outstanding service, cocktails, and wine list. Toasted quinoa veggie burger was great.
Exceptional food! It was my first time dining here and I was blown away. It does get pretty loud but great energy.
Another great night at Bourbon. Wait staff was attentive, friendly and professional. They knew both the drink and the dinner menu inside and out.
The food was cooked perfectly, our steaks melted in our mouths.
The bread was tasty, the beats were nice.
Baked Alaska was very nice.
Amazing lunch and Lily was wonderful
As always, stellar and pleasant service, attention to every detail, and exquisite food. That’s why we chose Bourbon Steak to celebrate our 35th anniversary.
We went to Bourbon for my boyfriend’s birthday. The entire staff went out of their way to make us feel special and welcome. The food was phenomenal. Nothing was rushed and all dishes were cooked and presented perfectly. Martinis were delicious. We had the ahi tuna tar tar and the foie gras as appetizers and could not stop talking about them even days later. The NY strip for our entree with truffle Mac n cheese and roasted beets on the side was flawless. Dessert was double espresso and the smoked s’mores which had a fun presentation. As a couple who enjoys having long, excellent dinners, Bourbon Steak has officially made it to our top three list. We cannot wait to go back next time we’re in DC. For those hesitant about the price, you absolutely get what you pay for and it is worth every penny.
Didn’t have a good experience this time around. The restaurant shouldn’t take reservations at 2:30, if they are going to treat guest as if they are closed.
Really enjoyed the staff and service. Excellent place for an intimate, quiet meeting.
It was amazing and we were treated greatly
This is hands down the best steakhouse in DC. Having dined at nearly every other steakhouse in DC over the years I can say that bourbon steak absolutely nails the customer experience. By no means my first time here and each time they get every detail right.
Kudos especially to the wine team for providing great recommendations from the list they curated.
Great service and a fun evening. Oddly, the steak was not up to par for a premium steakhouse. Poorly prepared and lacked flavor.
Not a very good meal. Steaks mediocre. Two in the party steaks not cooked as ordered and had to be sent back. Expensive meal and food was at best mediocre.
The first time I went to Bourbon Steak, it was one of the best meals and dining experiences that I've had in DC. This last time was very different. The food was good but not great for the cost. We had brought our own $200 bottle of wine and when the sommelier came to pour it, he didn't say a word to us. Not a single word to anyone at the table even though we all smiled and thanked him. He then walked over to our waiter and proceeded to talk with him angrily, gestering and looking our way. It was bizarre and rude. I get that he may have been upset he couldn't have shown off his skills but we would have been likely to order another bottle of wine if it hadn't been for his behavior. No one at the table wanted to interact with him again. That on top of the food being lackluster would probably have me looking for a new DC steakhouse the next time.
Food was amazing as were the drinks but the service is what really set it apart! Attentive and friendly without being overbearing!
Found the experience disappointing. At this price point, and in this kind of hotel, I expected the kind of service where drinks are ordered and arrive within the first 30 minutes of being seated. Was an awkwardly long wait for drinks. Food was good, but nothing spectacular. Some nice touches and servers were friendly, but the place seemed to be overbooked or something. Maybe an off night, but not worth the money. I can think of a lot more exciting or exquisite dining in DC for Bourbon's prices... or less.
Overall exceptional experience. Service was flawless. Bone-in grass fed strip steak was on point and absolutely excellent. Wagyu ribeye was flavorful, but somewhat on the gristley side - so not worth the extra cost of the wagyu. Consistent with other reviews, Bourbon Steak is a pricey outing for sure.
