Bourbon Steak at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Ratings and Reviews
The food was exquisite, the atmosphere was trendy and very upbeat. Our server was amazing, used our names throughout the dinner and even walked us to the atm. She also ran back to get my valet ticket validated. She made sure to go over every option and suggesting personal favorites. The manager came out and greeted us and poured our wine. The entire team congratulated us on our anniversary, we were even greeted with a anniversary card at our table.
we had the 7 course journey and it was amazing. Each course complimented the last and was increasingly amazing. absolutely worth every cent.
Expectations were high but not met at all. The noise level inside was deafening but fortunately we were seated outside away from the loud noise. The service was good overall. The menu is very limited compared to other fine dining steak restaurants. The salad selection was very limited. My wife enjoyed the brussel sprouts. The Delmonico steak was very average (especially for the price point). The mushrooms were served warm not hot. We eat at upper end steak houses all over the country and this one was just disappointing.
We had a wonderful experience! Our server Logan was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu! It was hard to narrow down our decision since everything sounded amazing, but he made perfect recommendations for every course and beverage. Everyone made us feel welcome and ensured we enjoyed our evening! Thank you all!
We booked a 9:00pm reservation and went to Bourbon Steak solely for the Lobster Potpie. After ordering, our waiter came back to inform us they ran out of Potpie. This was a major disappointment. If it wasn't so late I would have went to a different restaurant. The shellfish appetizer was only ok. It would have been nice if they comped us in some way.
Very nice, as you would expect, being in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel. The steak was excellent and perfectly cooked, and the brussel sprouts were delicious as well. I thought I was going to order the Tomahawk Ribeye, but after seeing the $185 price tag, I opted for the filet instead. The filet was $55, delicious, and a better value in my opinion, as I can't imagine the Tomahawk being $130 more delicious than the filet. Overall, a very nice dinning experience. Next time I go, I'm going to have to try the Lobster Pot Pie. The table next to us ordered it and it looked awesome!
Our server Todd was attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous. We also had a pleasant conversation with Andrew the general manager. And the rest of the staff was good-natured, including the bartender who tweaked my wife's cocktail several times until it was exactly to her liking. Every bite of our meal (tuna tartare and wagyu were the highlights) was perfect. Even the music had a nice smooth groove but wasn't so loud that it interfered with our conversation. We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.
We went for mine and my girlfriends Birthday celebration. When we arrived there was a Birthday card for each of us signed by the whole staff. What a great touch! Food was amazing, atmosphere was awesome and service was outstanding! Would recommend this place anytime for any occasion. Definitely would be back
Fabulous anniversary meal on New Yeas Day evening. We chose the patio- with the heaters on it is perfect to sit outside. It is a la carte and expensive but everything here is perfect. The food, the ambiance, the service. Relax and enjoy the experience. It feels special.
Overall it was an okay experience. It's not a very kid friendly place that's for sure. If the kids menu was more versatile and coincide with price...sure. my kids food was so little they wanted to order more, granted the place was fancy, but the price should go hand in hand with the food. Our server was fantastic and made us feel welcomed.
Due to New Year's Eve, it was a prix fixe menu. However, we were not advise of the limited menu either when the reservation was made or confirmed. As a return diner, I was looking forward to certain entrees and side dishes that were not available. The portion sizes (especially family style side dishes) were very small for the price. In fact, they were sized for a 2 person party as opposed to our party of 4. Moreover, the restaurant had pre-selected 3 sides and you had no choice. Having mashed potatoes with brown gravy did not go very well for the 2 people that ordered fish. When we arrived, we were advised that valet parking was $85 if we did not spend a minimum of $75 and get validated by the restaurant. Since the menu was $95 per head, we easily met the limit. When we went to validate, the hostess spent 10 minutes looking for our waiter to ensure we spent the requisite $75. She had to know our meal was at least $400 as that was the only option that night (we spent over $600 including drinks and wine). The parking situation was an undignified, money grab and very rude to make us wait to ensure we spent the minimum.
We very much enjoyed the restaurant, its food and service in particular. The occasion was my wife's birthday and our small family were very well looked after. A significant bonus was wandering around the large festive light display on the property after our meal! Thanks to the hotel and staff for making this a positively memorable night!
If I could give 100 stars, I would. Our server, Michael, was so attentive, professional and accommodating. The chef prepared amazing "starters". The sommelier was very informative and knowledgable...the staff was super kind and friendly. It was an evening we will NEVER forget...and a terrific value!! Thank you for giving 4 friends an unforgettable memory!!!
We had heard so much about Bourbon Steak and so looked forward to dining there. We were in for a real surprise - from the minute we walked through the door we thought what is this? It was very, very noisy and loud - nothing cozy, quaint or romantic about the place. You can't even say dress was resort casual as guests were in work out clothes - baseball caps etc. A large group was in the room behind us and we had trouble hearing each other talk. They have what looked like shades of glass to pull down but they were all up. Service was very slow and many times a server or bus person would walk by and not offer water or remove our finished plates. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone even if it was free.......................
They have the best steak in town! We have been dining here for years and always happy to return. Jeremy is a fantastic server and Jason is the best sommelier we have ever met (and we come from wine country).
We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a special evening!
I made my first $1m by the time I was 25, and $ is not normally an object to me. But despite having significant personal financial resources, I don’t like being ripped off. I have been all over the world and dined in some of the planet’s most notorious restaurants, and I have rarely felt ripped off as much as I did at this restaurant.
Service was ok, with lots of attentive staff, but the fillet’s were ordered medium, and were served half raw/half cremated. We were not asked how our steaks were until a significant amount of time had passed - then the accompanying items (whipped duck fat gravy potatoes, mushrooms, etc) would have been cold. I suspect that the steaks were cooked from frozen.
Ordered a $15 pomegranate martini, which was pretty good - but it didn’t even fill 1/4 of the martini glass. I am not a drinker by any means, and I ordered the drink as a rare treat to try it out....but the fact that the waitress served the drink with a straight face was bothersome. It was as if somebody else had drank most of it before it was served to me. They asked me later if I would like another one, which I interpreted as being pumped to spend, spend, spend.
Like I said - money doesn’t mean that much to me, but I don’t like being flagrantly ripped off. 4 of us ate 3 steak dinners, 2 x 2 oz king crab, 1 salad, 1 drink and 1 shared dessert, 2 cokes, and the price came out to about $400. Despite the ok service (ie. not great service, nor very attentive service), the “expected tip” is about 20%. $80 additional for “just okay” service seemed to be highly expectant to me, and was the “straw that broke” for me - especially as the hostess asked me whether or not I was going to “tip out” on my card or not. It just came across poorly.
I have dined at the Burj Al-arab in the past, and found the service and food impeccable - and believe it or not - the prices reflective of the food and service. Unlike our experience here.
We chose Bourbon Steak for dinner before enjoying the Christmas festivities at the Princess. We arrived early and had a cocktail in the lounge. Service was very slow and it seemed like we had a variety of random people coming by with no consitency. We know the prices so it is not that we didn't want to pay for the meal but our dinner was extremely overpriced for what we received. The steaks were ok -- mine was a little overdone but we didn't have time to send back. The side dishes were extremely small and for the price they charge, should have been enough to share more than one bite each among four people. There are many other restaurants in Scottsdale where you can get a better meal for the $$$.
Our visit started out very well- fantastic service. Our drinks came out quickly and the salad followed.
Then, it went downhill. I feel like we waited a very long time for our steaks and shellfish and when they came out they were all cold!! We couldn't even eat the lobster and shrimp and barely ate the steaks. They did offer to replace the steak, but we didn't have the time. I asked that the shellfish be taken off my bill but was still charged for the steak- of which we only ate half.
Very disappointing especially because we ordered over $140 worth of steak (two different cuts!).
Service was slow likely due to the restaurant being highly occupied. In past visits service was excellent but with about 70% of the occupancy at previous visits. There was a group of diners who were excessively loud disturbing the evening for everyone. Noise level was more than that in a burger pub than a fine dining restaurant. A mention could be made to guests that the restaurant would request voice volume respectful of others dining. It is pleasant to dine and be able to speak in normal voice across a table. Waite staff had difficulty being heard. Princess is always nice to visit for holidays.
