Nice atmosphere for a special occasion.
Food was pricy for what it was and the flavors were nothing special.
Nice selection of wines.
first time we were here, we had a very bad experience. A year later, the exact opposite. Service was great, food was wonderful!
Excellent service, Food was average, best part of the meal was the desserts, expected more from a Michael Mina Restaurant.
Overall it was a good experience, service all around was the winner that evening.
young lady (I assume she was the manager) did an outstanding job,
during dinner my napkin fell to the floor (I didn't notice) but she did and replaced it.
Chef over-salts entres. Wine list is considerabley overpriced versus other upscale restaurants. Decor is spartan at best. Waitress started to rush us through dinner - we slowed her down. My steak was overcooked. They were out of their feature deserts. All-in-all a disappointment for a $150/head experience.
We thought the restaurant was outstanding! We had really delicious that were cooked perfect! We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and we have never seen bigger shrimp in our whole life. They were the size of a small lobster tail and tasted GREAT! We just wished that we had requested the outdoor patio because it's so beautiful. Leave it to Michael Mina to have such a fabulous restaurant!
Music too loud (speakers above corner seats, making business discussions difficult.)
As with all Michael Mina restaurants, Bourbon did not disappoint. The lobster pot pie is a must try if you've never had it before. The escolar with mouthwatering. All the sides and everything else was excellent as well!
One can never fail to be completely satisfied when going to Bourbon Steak at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Truly one of the very best in the entire Phoenix DMA.
Tries way too hard to be on the cutting edge of the food scene and thinks that if they just charge ridiculously high prices that makes the restaurant avante garde......but they miss the boat b/c the food is just average and way over priced.
Outstanding steaks and very tasty side dishes. Very knowledgable waiters. Attentive staff.
Food and service was amazing! What a treat!
Great food and service. I have never been treated so well. Loved the hospitality.
My husband said it was one of the best steaks he ever had.
This restaurant is a gem. Ambiance is enhanced by the elegant architecture, service is attentive without being intrusive, food is incredibly well prepared. Nice touch for us was that we mentioned that we'd be sharing everything, so without us requesting it, all of our dishes came split, even the oysters, with no additional charge. High end hotel dining can sometimes be pretentious, but we didn't get that here. Would definitely go back.
Nice place and friendly staff. Attentive waiter but seemed like every five minutes someone was coming by table-a bit too much I must say. Food was good, but way overpriced. Steaks (strip, filet, ribeye) were average. Sides could not be shared by table as advertised, but maybe two people and barely that. Wine list was extensive but again was way expensive. Maybe 3 or 4 bottles less than $100 per bottle. Not a bad place just rediculously expensive for what you get.
very pricey for the quality of food.
Service was silly---a variety of staff showing up every 60 seconds. They tried too hard and the entire experience was a disappointment.
Excellent food, beautifully prepared and presented. Attentive individualized service, careful attention to individuals' preferences. Very pleasant atmosphere.
the meal was very good ( filet mignon steaks and shared lobster pot pie with side dishes of salad, potato and asparagus ..and carrot cake with wonderful sorbet for desert.) . the wine was not presented prior to opening..it was brought to the table already open and poured immediately into our glasses, then put into a bucket behind us ..imagine my surprise when I was presented with the bill and instead of the "Moet Chandon"that we ordered ( $120 range) to our horror, we found we consumed a Dom Perignon ( $900 !!!!) I have "A-Fib"..that almost gave me "the big one"!!! and the wine wasn't that good.. it was an experience we are not likely to forget...but for the wrong reasons! it was a good meal, but not worth $1500 ( including the tip) !!!
This was my second Michael Mina restaurant. I really wanted to like it, but it's a hotel restaurant that tries to be everything to everybody and not meeting anyone's needs. I was there on Christmas Eve. When I arrived all the diners were adults and typical Scottsdale diners. Then as the evening progressed, families with under 10's surrounded me. These children were not well behaved but the restaurant can't turn them away because they were guests of the hotel. The food was amazingly mediocre. The scallop sashimi with nectarines just don't work. The server who made the table-side Gribiche sauce didn't whip it enough to emulsify it. The steaks were OK.
Traditional steakhouse in trendy setting. Located inside Fairmont Princess this is a nice date night spot. Enjoyed good brandy cherry manhattan to start, must have the grilled cheese fondue as an appetizer tasty and unique. All ate steaks and they were deliciously seasoned and well prepared. The steaks didn't diassapoint. Ambience is trendy warm not wood wall, steakhouse. Music is a bit odd at times, kind of loud and hip hop for this place.
We went for our Anniversary and they had a little card for us which was nice. Service was very good. I know it is a hotel steak place and it was good but over priced in my opinion.
My first time visiting this restaurant, and I enjoyed it. Beautiful area.
RIDICULOUS prices for mediocre Applebees grade beef! Overcooked steak - sent it back and got barely an apology for it. The most BORING decore in Scottsdale - stark and uninviting with no personality. By the look of it, it's a blank slate wanting to be something but a steak house it "aint"! Spent a week at the hotel with family that was visiting and spent a fortune trying to make it a good meal but it's an overall TOTAL disappointment. I work in a very high end boutique in Scottsdale and will not only NEVER recommend it, I will be telling everyone how bad it was. No need to ever go there as there are 15 other places that can grill a steak better than this BS (you can decide if that stands for Bourbon Steak or not.) $400 meal and hated it.
Food was very good. $85 for the special tip of 4 oz each of 3 different cut of steak was overpriced. Should have asked the price before we ordered. It was on oversight. But with most of the steak priced at around $50, we did not expect it to be $85!!!
My ratings are probably not as favorable as you would have expected. I am a business person who spends many nights out dining all over the U.S. so am rating your facility against other steak houses. I thought the restaurant atmosphere is a little too cold, not enough warmth in accents and color. The seating areas come across as a low cost item with not much thought for those who want to settle in for a cozy dinner event. The food was warm at best when served and the wine selection was very poor and highly expensive for the wines listed. The best food event was the fries that were served without notice. Thanks for asking.
. Gorgeous setting but the food did not meet our expectations . No wow factor at all.
Food was excellent. My daughter and husband loved the giant prawns. The chefs pre-dinner duck-fat fries were excellent with accompanying dips. My 13 year old grandson said the filet was the best steak he has ever had. I had the Halibut which was excellent.
The steak is truly phenomenal. It is the best steak I have ever eaten period (better than Donovans, Mortons, Durant's etc.). The service is a little pushy, and it was hard to get a waiter's attention (we went 30 minutes without seeing one at one part), but the food is wholly worth it. Obviously, this is an incredibly pricey place (2 people - $225.00 - 2 steaks, wine, cocktails, dessert, appetizer, 1 side) but it was a truly incredible eating experience.
Pricey but very good. The shrimp cocktail was great as was the steak, especially the waygu.
Very expensive but delicious. We had mentioned, when we made the reservation, that it was our 30th anniversary but that was never acknowledged when we got there.
My wife and I were staying at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess for a conference and decided to make reservations at Bourban Steak House. It was one of the most excellent meals we have ever had!! Everything was perfect!! The wine list was exceptional and our waiter was very attentive. It was a very memorable experience and hope that we can return someday.
The Fish I had was so so. portions small for the price and the potatoes were almost too creamy, runny, not worth the 9.00. Just an okay expereince over all but a nice property. I htink we owuld stay to Happy Hour.
Annoyed that a table for two was not available after 6:30PM, yet well after 8:30PM on Saturday eveing, the facility was less then 50% occupied. I understand the desire to accommodate four-tops at prime times, but not at the expense or restricting parties to unreasonable dining times when unnecessary. Market Pricing of $70 for a one and a quarter pound lobster with a cloying sauce and puff pastry,at best,is well beyond reasonable.
Beignet dessert became $21 because we had a desire to experience the two additional ramekins of accompanied sauce. Although never explained, the two additional ramekins were an up charge of $11 from the menu price of $9, inexcuseable. There simply is not a reason to return to this retaurant in the future.
Our second visit to Bourbon Steak and once again thoroughly enjoyed it.
Food took forever to reach our table, so much so that management sent courses to our table that we did not order, just to stall for time. When the steak arrived, it was overcooked. So much time had passed that we simply ate what we could and did not complain. We should have.
Incredible steak, somewhat pretentious and expensive for what you get. If money is not an issue go for it!
We had forward to our meal based on rave reviews from friends & critics. Reality fell way short of expectations. Decor cold & sterile. Noise level REALLY loud due to high-volume pulsating music playing nonstop. Servers & diners have to holler to make themselves heard. Most unpleasant - it made us want to get out of there as soon as we could. Service - attentive at first, and then we seemed invisible. It took forever to get the check. Food? Good to very good but not outstanding. My prawn was unremarkable & overcooked; scallops & lobster fine. Husband's steak was terrific though. Our bill was $250 & I don't drink alcohol - husband had 2 glasses of wine. WAY WAY overpriced for what it is. Don't know how this gets 4 diamonds. Won't return.
For the prices....it was underwhelming!
WE live in the neighborhood and there are surely better places for a steak dinner. The servers were pleasant and friendly, but he food was just mediocre; steaks were not worth 40-80.00 each....we won't be back!
even with the value of the fixed menu we got the wonderful french fry tasting!
This was my third time here.Restaurant week overwhelmed the restaurant, Service, especially alcohol service suffered greatly
if you cant do something right, just don't do it.
Watching a beautiful tall redhead hostess take ten minutes to line up napkins and glasses while folks are awaiting the table doesn't seem like the restaurant has its priorities straight
