We had a party of 20 come in for a luncheon and the hostess was not expecting us. After we ordered the food we were later told they ran out of French fries. My 11.00 burger was burnt to a crisp so I had to wait and watch others each until it was replaced. Obviously they were ill prepared at 12:30 on 11/18 to receive us, the kitchen was very unorganized.
The server was patient with all the complaint.
I am a chef , and a pescatarian.. There is no space or room to deviate from menu
The Hostess was extremely unprofessional in attitude and appearance. When she seated us, there was a puddle of water next to my dad's chair and when I pointed it out- she looked at it and said, "yeah- it has been here since this morning." Then she just walked away. Our server, thankfully, was much better and cleaned it up. The food was decent but nothing special and not price worthy for certain. We did like our server a lot and hope she finds a better place to work.
What a waste of money and time. Order was ignored and brought with wrong items and under cooked....do not go here
Great food and service! Very enjoyable meal! Will definitely visit again on our next trip to Louisville.
Tanneca (sp?) was our server and she was excellent! She was very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. Our bill was $177 and worth every penny! The oysters were kind of small for the price, but everything else was terrific! The spinach seafood dip was delicious and our lobster tails and king crab legs were cooked to perfection.
My husband and I are from Evansville, IN and usually spend a long weekend in Louisville at least twice a year. We will definitely be coming back.
Might be ok as a bar, but don't go for food. Not sure if it's more over-priced or over-cooked. Steak and porkchop. Both tasteless and dry. Potatoes were bland. Service was haphazard and slow. Staff is very informally dresses for a restaurant at this price point.
My friend and I had a fantastic experience here! I ordered the oysters, which were divine (!) , and my friend ordered the shrimp cocktail. We also would recommend the delicious bread pudding.
Had the most wonderful service for a large group of 18. Everyone was extremely accommodating to give us a great experience and our server was absolutely amazing.
Prices are too high for the quality and quantity of food. This trip was my second to BR and I will never return. This trip cost around $180 for 4 people - we were shorted shrimp in our order of dozen shrimp cocktail, received 4 tiny asparagus as a side dish to an entree, the $10 house salad was less lettuce than a bag of salad mix at the grocery, the cauliflower skillet was barely warm and left much to be desired, the grits were under cooked and the scallops were rubbery. The only dish our table was satisfied with was the seafood dip & chips. The signature drinks weren't too bad, but were a bit high in price. Our waiter never returned to our table after we received our food, so therefore our dissatisfaction could not be expressed or attempted to be made better. The atmosphere is nice, but the food and drinks are not worth it!
Worst wait staff experience ever
Guess good help is hard to find
Food quality was not good. Fried chicken was under cooked, one person did not get the entree they ordered, there was confusion about the menu and which menu was currently being offered (our party of 6 was given 2 different menus when we were seated). Our server was new and very nice but seemed like she had been given very little training. She rushed us through our dinner so that she could close out our check because she said her manager was going to send her home because the restaurant was slow. Overall this restaurant did not meet our expectations as an upscale casual restaurant.
Super great service and awesome food/drinks!
We had a large group of 28 and they were very accommodating. We had a back room to ourselves. We expected the service to be slow after reading other review and having a large group, however, that was not the case. They were attentive, efficient, and hospitable!!! Great place for a large group!!
Food was just ok. They brought me the wrong entree and my friends were close to finishing their dinner by the time they corrected their mistake. I was also surprised that they charged $2 and $1 for ice in two of our drinks! I’ve never seen this before. When asked the waiter said “ we do that all the time, it’s just the way it is”. Needless to say I would not go back. $180 for dinner for 3 was a pit pricy for this quality and atmosphere.
We don't actually charge extra for ice. If you order a drink on the rocks, you get a heavy pour which is what they upcharge is covering. You're getting more alcohol in your drink when you order it on the rocks versus neat. However, I would love to know the name of your server. Obviously we need to address how he brought you the wrong entrée and his response to your question.
Food was good but waiter was at best average. Not offered any dessert and had issues keeping my water glass filled. Not sure I would return
Had a family gathering before the wedding weekend started. The private room and dedicated wait staff made the evening a wonderful experience.
Linda was a great server. The pulled pork sandwich was awesome.
I was disappointed that I ordered a steak that came out with the wrong toppings. It was then taken back and I can only assume placed under a heat lamp for about 10 minutes so by the time my order was corrected, my steak had gone from a medium rare to well done and everything was dried out. It created an awkward experience while my husband had his steak and we were still waiting on mine, then mine wasn't even any good. We don't get fancy date nights often, so this was a disappointing experience overall.
Fantastic food and service!!
The quality of food and drinks were disappointing.
The food was not as good as expected.
Great ambiance, food was outstanding, make sure you sit on the patio to people watch! Cocktails need some work but otherwise fantastic
I went here to celebrate my boyfriend’a birthday and we had a terrible experience. Our waiter was absolutely awful and even talked negatively about the chef when we complained about our food. For the price, I would absolutely go somewhere else. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Was in Louisville for a weekend with some friends. Went here because of its location (walking distance to yum center, where we had concert tickets). Server and service in general were excellent. I got the salmon, which, unfortunately, was way over cooked. I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. Wouldn’t have minded paying the higher prices if the food had been excellent, but overpriced for what we received. Ambiance and service were excellent. However, probably won’t be back the next time I’m in town.
Food was good, sat outside. Hostess was unfriendly even though we had reservations. Server was woefully average.
Three diners for lunch. Two meals brought to the table. For the first time waitress explained they were out of third item. Waited for a substitute, a cold salad, was brought out. Other lunches got cold.
We were visiting Louisville for the day and wanted somewhere in 4th Street Live to eat before exploring some of the bars. We ordered several appetizers and a couple of drinks. Everything was delicious, especially the goat cheese skillet! I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a drink and a couple of appetizers. We did not order any main dishes, so I can't speak to that- but the food that we saw coming out of the kitchen looked great!
Good service, nichole was great. Very bland overpriced food. Weak drinks mostly ice.
Sherri was an excellent server. The service from the kitchen was slow and she continually reassured us that it was being made. We had a large party and she waived the auto gratuity as well as comping a few items for the inconvenience!
Service was quick and attentive. Will continue to patronize when in the area.
We were unimpressed by this restaurant- our server was not knowledgeable about the menu - brought wrong order and incomplete had to ask for everything including the dessert menu which we did not order from
Would not recommend this restaurant
Can you please let us know the name of your server?
A group of us went for a friends birthday. There table was already present with menus, silverware and waters when we arrived. Cherie couldn’t have been a sweeter or more attentive server. They had an extensive bourbon section and you can try any as a flight. The goat cheese skillet was excellent and the fried chicken, delicious. Sparkling birthday sundae is awesome!
Rough night. Burgers came out rare (bloody) (med rare requested). Filet came out beyond well done (medium requested). Chicken was WAY over cooked. Server needed major support. Payment process was a mess! Appreciate the restaurant accommodating a large group but would not return.
As expected the drinks were very good even if a little pricey. The food on the other hand was not as good and not worth the money or the visit. Our server seemed very busy even when they weren’t full or super busy. Not somewhere we would visit again.
The kitchen was a mess when our group of 9 dined Thursday night. They comped the food so we weren't out anything but it was very disappointing. I ate there three times last year and loved it.
We sincerely apologize! We'd made a few employee changes in the kitchen and there's been some bumps in the road. If you wouldn't mind going to our website and filling out a contact us, we'd like to offer you dinner for two on us. We'd also like as many details as possible about your experience so that we can improve. Thank you!
Great selection of bourbons and knowledgable bartender. She came out to chat with me about bourbon and I really enjoyed her insight. The only negative was peel and eat shrimp warm-really? Other food was very good.
The server was amazing but she couldn't save our dining experience. When we sat down at 7 on Saturday, we were informed that they were out of anything with salmon or chicken so we went with the filet. It took an hour for our steaks (1 ordered rare, the other medium well) to come out only to find them both cooked to medium (to her credit our server apologized with a free chips and queso which was not really appetizing but held us over). The rare one was closest to medium well so my boyfriend took that one and they fired a new rare one on the fly but that took about 20 minutes, which came back medium rare but I was too starved to worry about it. We both found our steaks had no seasoning and there was no salt or pepper at any of the tables on the patio. Won't be back but hope the waitress finds a place that the food meets her excellent serving and customer service skills.
Good bourbon menu. Food is pedestrian. service was good. Loud and hard to have a conversation
The service started out great, but the food was not memorable or too salty. I sent back the asparagus because they were way too salty. The second set were better, but still salty. The goat cheese dip was made with old cheese. Our waiter didn't come back for another round of drinks, so when we finally saw him we got the check and left.
We apologize for your unsatisfactory experience. Could you please explain how or why you felt the goat cheese skillet was made with old cheese? We would also appreciate if you could provide the servers name so that we can address this.
