Great service, excellent food and fun atmosphere! The staff is friendly and we didn't feel rushed.
My wife and sister-in-law took me to dinner to celebrate my birthday. We have been to Bourbon Blue several times in the past, and the food and service have been generally good. This time was no exception - except for the fact that my wife who loves bread asked for bread for the table at the time our salad was being served. We were given one piece of cornbread with the approximate measurements of 2 inches by 4 inches for the entire table. This left a bad taste in her and her sister's mouth. My recommendation to the management is to offer a reasonable amount of bread (and charge extra for it, if you must!)
brunch visit - not crowded at all. two of three meals were cold.
Good quality Cajun food. Good value on a Monday night pre-theater.
Mediocre at best. Not a destination for good food. If you're stopping for drinks and apps your fine but if you are craving a cajun creole experience this place is not it. The soup and entree were lukewarm, lacking flavors we both craved. Since Crawdaddy s in west chester closed it created a void which has not been filled
Terrible all around. Our server must have been high because he was slow, unorganized and couldn't have cared less about his tables. Our food came out at different times so while half the table had their food the other half was still waiting. I can't speak for the others good but my eggs were simultaneously undercooked and old. Also, we had the make your own Bloody Mary bar...no variety or choices, also weak alcohol pours. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with taste buds or eyes.
Nice menu -good selection - not everything is spicey
Came for an evening snack. The gumbo was very tasty and hearty. Poutine was also quite tasty.
As always a great brunch option. Our server seemed new but was very personable.
Will never go back. Food is at best mediocre
Whole place smells musty and moldy. Server was nice and did her best. Sitting outside on the deck was also a bad idea. Smells from the canal is unappetizing . But dark and you can't see the food.. thank goodness.
Great sunday for 1/2 price wine and great food
Been here before for happy hour and had a good experience. Came back with friends for brunch - not the same experience. All of our food was oddly cold except the pancakes: jambalaya, breakfast sausages, potatoes and bacon - all cold. Drinks were fantastic though! Will try again; would like to think it was an off day for the restaurant.
Went to dinner with a friend. Sat at the bar first and had a very friendly bartender. Then, we sat in the dining room to have dinner. Food, service, and atmosphere were all great.
My favorite restaurant in Manayunk. They're staff is so welcoming you just love coming back every time.
The place was very cool.....but service was way to slow and potions small.
Had an awesome time celebrating my birthday here with friends!
Its a pretty restaurant, but also very, very loud - makes conversation difficult. The salad was good, the cornbread was good, though one piece was provided for 3 people at the table. The fried chicken was just not good. The chicken risotto was just bad. The chicken tasted like it was cooked on a dirty grill - the burnt remains of whatever was cooked previously was all I tasted. One bite and I was done. The service was so indifferent that I didn't bother to send my meal back - by the time the waitress finally returned to our table, I just wanted the check in order to be able to leave. The guys at the valet were very nice!
This is the second time we've gone to this restaurant - the food is very good and somewhat innovative, we like the option of outside seating facing the canal, and we really like the 1/2-price wine bottles on Sundays.
Great outdoor location next to Manayunk canal. Food's OK, not great. Nothing out of the ordinary. Service friendly enough but very slow. The location and view are enough to bring me back, though.
We were in town visiting family and found this place on open table. The brunch menu is great for everyone- breakfast options, salads, sandwiches, burgers etc. the food was good. I had the omelette with veggies and it was good- the only downside was the potatoes were a little dry. My husband got the chicken wrap with Cajun fries- and I took a few they were great and I love the seasoning. My in laws had the breakfast burritos which they enjoyed as well. The food was pretty good, the place was a little empty for 1 on a Saturday. The nice thing is they had outdoor seating. They had valet which was pricey- $12 so we parked on the street instead.
Our server was wonderful. We have a 4 year old. Our server was great with him. She was patient and loving.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Manayunk. The food is always great. If you need a great drink see Mike the bartender. The owner, Brendan McGrew, makes you feel like a friend not just a customer. If you want the best nachos this is the place to get them!
The appetizers were tasty -- fried pickles and nachos. My meal (which was recommended by the waitress), the tomato risotto, was watery and tasteless. My husband had blackened chicken, which was not blackened and was dry and overdone.
First time here on Father's Day and was pleasantly surprised. Extensive menu offerings, good service, and the patio is beautiful. I recommend trying it out!
I made a day before reservation for a Sat night dinner for 10 people. The manager put together a 3 course menu (family style) that was spot on at an excellent price. At the very last minute, 2 additional guests came. Not a problem. Plenty of food that was delicious! Jambalaya (on the spicy side for those who like spicy food), crab cakes (lots of crab!) and steak cooked perfectly. One guest could not eat due to a pepper allergy. The kitchen offered salad - I think all the pans had cooked with pepper in them and they didn't want the guest to have a bad food reaction. Overall, very pleased!
Disappointed in the meal due to lack of flavor and presentation . You know you're in trouble when you can't tell the difference between the mashed potatoes and the crab cakes.
The service was very good. We had a lot of substitutions and the restaurant was very accommodating with all the changes. The Bourbon Blue Burger with mushrooms, blue cheese, and bacon was heavenly.
The Bloody Mary's with extra spice were fantastic and the omelets were right up there with them.
Bourbon Blue is a go-to for Sunday breakfast when visiting St. Joseph's University. I've never been disappointed. 1/2 price bottles of wine, make your own Bloody Mary bar, and $3 beer specials are a big attraction. Love to sit on the back deck, but it was way too cold. Inside is still nice. Both the Short Rib Poutine and the Scrapple Sliders were completely unhealthy, but were so good. French Toast and Breakfast Burrito were both very good. Service was generally good, with one major exception with our cocktails. We ordered what amounted to Iced Irish Coffees that were supposed to have whipped cream. Drinks delivered without whipped cream and server claimed they were out, even though French Toast came out of the kitchen with whipped cream, yet we still had to specifically ask her to get some from the kitchen for our drinks.
Beware, if you are having a special occasion here, do not choose a very busy time. The service did not go as we hoped! But, they have space for a very large group and the atmosphere and location, is pretty good. The waitress, Carly, was particularly rude, to some of the people in our group, and that is why we remembered her name, unfortunately. But, every one else, was very nice to us, especially the hostesses. So be sure to pick a time that is not very busy, and make sure to ASK for very good waitresses. It was the difference between good service.
Had a great NOLA inspired meal here the other night. Good choices on the 3 course Prix-Fixe menu. Would like to see a few more Lagers and/or Ales on the beer list...too many fruity beers and hoppy beers.
This is one my favorite places to go and I always order the short rib gnocchi. it seems they've kind of change the dish there used to be shreds of short rib now it's kind of tiny cubes I hope it goes back to the way was it was better before. I ordered the Kentucky buck cocktail and it was absolutely delicious. Our waitress asked us so many times how we were doing that it became annoying and really disrespectful that It was interrupting our conversation so often it made us feel extremely rushed.
We took our mother on Mother's Day, a group of 3 adults and 2 children. It was great food and the perfect setting. Everyone loved the food and drinks. Great time and we look forward to going back!
Took the family to Bourbon Blue for dinner as my Dad was visiting from NC. Party of 12. Dinner and the service was very good. The only con was the noise level.
The guy that was singing was too loud. Couldn't really have any good conversation. Will probably opt for a private room next time.
Else no real complaints. Will definitely be back.
The food was fantastic!
Waiter had a lot of recommendations about food pairings and cocktail pairings - very helpful, very professional. Noise level was more than energetic - difficult to have a conversations at times. Despite the crowd, service was fast and efficient.
We went for restaurant week. The waiter starts telling us what food is good/bad. What I wanted to order fell on his bad side of the list. This was extremely discouraging and set the mood for the meal.
The Abita Strawberry Harvest beer was good. The banana foster bread pudding was beyond my favorite part of the meal. Definitely recommend.
I would go back to try some of their other dishes, but hope I get a less cynical waiter.
Our Server was Awesome, Very Helpful with deciding on what to choose on the menu. Her name was Jennifer. I was here for the Restaurant Week with my boyfriend. We had the Cheesesteak egg rolls for appetizer DELICIOUS, Entree (SeaBass and the Fried Chicken) VERY GOOD. Lastly our dessert was the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding.. OH MY!! Best Bread Pudding I have EVER tasted.. I will be back again very soon.
Our server, Nicki was very pleasant, helpful, and attentive. Please let her know how much we appreciated her services. Thank you
The restaurant was great for a date. There was live music so it was loud but that goes with having live music and the entertainer was good.
The food was ok. We ordered food from the limited restaurant week menu. The fish dish wasn't good at all. It was fish on top of white rice. The fried chicken was good. The waiter was great.
